And here's the rub. The only reason I went to DKos all those years ago was because Billmon and Steve Gilliard were on the front page. Both went on to create successful blogs (Steve died in 2007). The posts by Kos were utter drivel compared.

This is the third time they've lost with that attitude, counting 2000. Some folks never learn.

Is that Hillary, the owners' favorite, came up with something called the "Pied Piper strategy" in which the DNC and the mainstream press colluded to "elevate" Donald Trump, one of the two most extreme of the Republican candidates, in order to give Hillary a smooth path toward the Oval Office.

Remember the Orlando shooter a couple massacres back? In the SF Chronic this a.m. is a story that his wife, back living in the East Bay with her family, lives on Donald Street and was arrested. I can't think of another article about someone being arrested where they give the perp's address. Really, you can't make this up. I would remind dear readers here that the Orlando shooter's dad has a show on Afghan TV, on the CIA channel. No one in the media seemed interested in that. But his widow lives on Donald Street!!!

Likewise, if you're sitting through that movie about the Boston Marathon bombing see if anything is mentioned about the boys' uncle, Ruslan Tsarni, who ran a Chechen "support group" out of Graham Fuller's address back in the 90s. He surfaced to call his nephews "losers", if you recall. You remember the Chechen revolt, right? Salafist, anti-Russian. Killed kids in schools, blew up subways, that kind of stuff, proto-ISIS stuff. Graham Fuller, he's now the retired CIA guy given credit for coming up with the idea of Iran-contra back in the Reagan years. His sphere of influence was the Mideast.

In propaganda they call it "bad jacketing". That is, if you want to plant an idea subconsciously you put your target next to something horrible. Sometimes it's as simple as putting an article about your target next to an article about something horrible. Sometimes it's just an article that connects two people. For example, right after OJ Simpson was arrested for his wife's murder there was a story circulating that President Clinton had had plans to play a round of golf with OJ before the murders intervened. Whether that was ever true, it serves propaganda purposes. OJ kills and abuses white women, and Bill Clinton hangs out with him. You see how it works? Easy peasy.
