Great diary on this
over at GOS. I think there are far greater long term effects than most people realize.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?

Even a straight up "these are the facts" diary
brings out of the flames from some people.
I wonder how nasty they will get if the economy really turns down in 2016 like I expect?
I noticed
A certain person that I flagged on another diary this weekend jumped right in to proclaim that you are the purveyor of doom and gloom. I cannot remember him ever posting an economic diary in the past. What is with these crazy people?
Seriously, how is the economy going to get any better when people world wide are being systematically stripped of their incomes?

You hate her
But she hates him
And he hates somebody else
You just can't win
And so it goes
Till the day you die
This thing they call hate
It's gonna make you cry

Here's something most people don't consider.
Back to back hecklers, first Sanders, then Clinton. Both situations make national news.
Hecklers have been used by politicians since the time Grog ran for Cave President as a way of pumping up their base against the opposition.
So, what are the odds of this happening organically?
Or were these purposeful plants?
Over at Daily Kos I'd be tarred and feathered with conspiracy theory tin foil and truther tar and feathers just for asking.
FBI saves NY from mentally ill panhandler
The face of ISIS
Pathetic.
That is pathetic.
I suppose the good news is I've seen a lot of people commenting on that who understand what the FBI is doing. There's a book written a couple years back called "The Terror Factory" about how the FBI manufactures these "terrorist" incidents using dupes like this.
Another thing that's old as the hills but keeps working. Unfortunately all they have to do is put out the headline and move on and the damage is done.
Then you get democrats (and republicans) drooling while calling each other terrorists. "Those terrorists in E. Oregon". Pretty soon everyone is a terrorist and the ruling class has us right where they want us.
Online OED gives origin of "agent provocateur" as
early 19th century, though I'm sure they existed before that. Thanks for the news (and for reading).

Hello good people~
Here's a fun little read I came across this morning...
The cognitive dissonance of conservative NSA hawks, in 1 telling episode

War criminal Bill Clinton campaigns for War Criminal
Hillary Clinton and says "GOP field is kind of scary".

For the life of me I can't understand how people can be shown this and not understand the "we" includes Bill Clinton. Albright was SOS FOR Clinton. And to extend that, I can't understand how people can excuse this, somehow rationalize it away in their heads.

"Ya well,
the republicans murdered a million, so they are the greater evil".
willfully blind
was listening the Thom Hartmann show for a few minutes today and he talked about economic policies since Reagan but somehow neglected to mention Clinton and Obama. Right now there's a crazy fog over the Obama administration. It's like every partisan Democrat is unaware of what's going on (deportations, endless war etc.) and can only think of Hillary vs Bernie and occasionally Trump.
Obama still has an 80% approval rating or
approval of job performance rating from Democrats.
From Democrats - phew. Eom

Re the New Hampshire WJC rally, a Boston Globe
reporter just said that they (FSC/WJC) are avoiding taking questions that touch on WJC's 'past.' He said it will be interesting to see how they handle this problem if WJC stays on the campaign trail. (I guess FSC quit her confrontational replies to DT, after her Iowa interview in which she called him 'sexist.') Now, she has her brigade of surrogates/apologists--Lanny Davis, etc.--defending her. I think that FSC made the remark during a Des Moines Register Editorial Board interview, if I've understood it correctly. No wonder they keep her off teevee. The idea that anyone married to WJC would open that door, is flat-out amazing, IMO.
Bottom line, this dude, reporter James (Pindell/Pinelli--I've heard it both ways) says there is a very great deficit of 'enthusiasm' for FSC, compared to for Bernie (in New Hampshire), aside from the fact that Bernie has a healthy lead in the polls, there. That's 'why' they've got ole Bill on the campaign trail, to prop up that gap. He's really looking forward to covering this race.
My question is: Will any of the other candidates bring up his toxic neoliberal economic policies?

surely not Lannie Davis!
that's wild. I guess they truly believe nobody will notice.
This is 'rich'--Lanny Davis self-identifies as a "reputational

well, he's certainly had more practice than a lot of folks. on the other hand, the only reason that his picture isn't in the unabridged dictionary next to the entry for "varlet" is his relative obscurity.
there is an excellent diary on the Gos by Navy Vet Terp
about Baltimore that I didn't see yesterday.
2015 Ends With 344 Homicides in Baltimore City, Second Highest In History
I always never drove to Baltimore other than to the Inner Harbor and that was mostly years ago. But Navy Vet Terp invited me once, so I remember well driving through neighborhoods, including his, very well. The diary is spot on and I think the comments are too.
Just saying. I wished I could rec him or send him a message. But I "left the gos neighborhood" because too much shooting going on there, if you know what I mean. I think he has gained an amazing experience in his lifetime. A very good man to get to know.

Concerning that militia in Oregon
GOS thinks they are all nuts, but the facts are more complicated.
they
certainly are different, those facts:
In any event, the Hammonds—whose prison sentence is bullshit—are not involved in the cornholing at the birdhouse. That yeehawing is the work of the Bundy slavers, who thunder that "this refuge from its very inception has been a tool of tyranny," and "intend to return the land to 'ranching, trucks and recreational vehicles like it used to be.'" Right. We can ask the Paiute about that.
The Bundy slavers, who hew to a froot-loop Reality of how the US government works, have amusingly violated their own precepts by going into some other sovereign state and county, there to, without local support, raise sand.
“The battle was brought to us,” said Dan Nichols, a county commissioner who is a neighbor of the Hammond family. “This county isn’t supportive of what’s being done here at all. Once again, it’s a bunch of those who live without the county telling us what we need to do, how we need to be doing it and the repercussions if we don’t.”
About the standoff
TheOnion summary
What are the protesters’ demands?
$5 million in cash and safe passage to 1874.
good one ; )
Though probably the Bundys, who believe black people should still be slaves, because they were better off that way, dontchaknow, would probably be at least preliminarily content with time travel back to but 1925, when it was still illegal for black people to live in the state of Oregon.
Did you see this? I don't know about the quality of the source
Explainer: The Bundy Militia’s Particular Brand Of Mormonism
Haven't read it to the end myself.
https://www.euronews.com/live
there is a reason
why the Bundy slavers only talk about "free men," rather than "free men and women." And that is because, in the Magic Underpants religion, to which the Bundy-slavers belong, women do not possesss even souls, unless some stray soul is spurted into them by a Mormon man's "endowed penis."
You can't make this shit up. Though some Mormon, man, obviously did.
