Live from the Farm

open thread_12.jpg

By the time you read this I will still be at the Farm cleaning up after the big family get together. No worry though, I will be checking in every few minutes on my dumbphone.
I will probably be filling up ex-large trash bags with cans, bottles, cartons, and assorted debris left over from 5 days of fun and frolic and 4 nights of wild and crazy partying. Well, not too crazy as we are all family after all.
Last years event saw one husband abandon his wife there, and one wife abandon her husband there but both came back the next morning and all was good.
A couple of the teens got in a late night raucous brawl inside the tent they were sharing and nobody could get into the tent because it was rolling around through the forest. Our bellyaching laughter probably didn't help either. Everyone wound up singing "Had to keep 'em separated", and it ended abruptly with muffled giggling.
The Great Dane pup dragged one of the neighbors turkeys back to camp by the neck, but we got them apart with no injuries.
All in all, a good time had by all.
Hope we have even half the fun this year.
So, how exciting are your family get togethers?
Looking forward to hearing we aren't so unusual. Heh.
The floor is open.

We spent a lazy day here. Did some food prep, visited with some neighbors, sipped cordials in
the shade by the pond, stories over supper.
Your family gatherings sound as wild as ours used to be long ago. Chasing my brothers in my old dodge thru the cornfields with a tree tied to the top (started out as getting more firewood for the bonfire). Hootin' at the moon, songs and laughter..

Glad you still have them.
Thanks for the OT

Everything is quiet here,no doubt recovery from last night's excesses, not ours, but whoever's it was. We had a continuous, break free, wall of multiple simultaneous explosions punctuated by sporadic individual super blasts. The word that came to mind was barrage. We had purchased an air purifier for fire season and have been running it lately due to pollen, on auto it is mostly inaudible and registers very low numbers. Last night it went crazy, with periodic spurts where it was spinning up something fierce.

Should be a lazy day today, but it seems that it will be very busy after all, the normal few tuesday chores, plus a ton of newly arisen stuff plus my week to cook. I have an idea/plan for tonight, but no recipe, which means internet recipe search to start the day, ugh.

OTOH, I have no massive clean up to do, so that's good. Enjoy.

be well and have a good one

Edit - changed gooc to good

There's a one year old that my family dotes on and who is the focus of attention. Nothing so wild but entertaining none the less.

I had a busy morning. Went to trade day, washed the truck (a much bigger chore than my little Geo Tracker), went to the bank, bought gas ($3.89/gal), and did a quick round through the grocery. Came home and washed clothes and hung those to dry. So just sitting down to catch up.

Hope to mow a bit later when it cools a bit.

Thought this was mildly entertaining...

Perhaps it is pertinent to the holiday?

Well all the best with the cleaning. Hope the knee is healing well. Thanks for the OT!

We are on our way back to Vancouver.
Event went really well. No one got hurt and we all ate well too much.
Got the place cleaned up just in time for the rain.
Timing.
Thanks for all the posts.
