Les Beastiables Cartoon Friday: Presidential Candidate Scott Weaselker!

Les Beastiables ("Les Bez"): Beasties say the darnedest things!

Today's Beastiable is Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who has now announced his candidacy for the Presidency. He has said many beastly things, as admirably reported by Daily Kos' esteemed Puddytat. Thus, now that he has announced, he has earned his turn as one of Les Beastiables.

NOTE FOR NEW READERS: This series features a new Les Beastiables cartoon every Friday afternoon here at caucus99percent. We indulge in a little Franglish because the French are tres classy. But I digresse.

For serious source information, please join me below for the squirming of beasties on the hot seat. Then you'll be able to "cleanse your palate" with a cute photo before you leave.

In February of this year Walker, like many other potential candidates, spoke at the CPAC convention. And Walker, like many other potential candidates, promptly put his foot in his mouth. Then on March 1, appearing on Faux "News" Sunday, he tried to walk it back:

Walker said he was "not comparing" union protesters to the terrorist group known as ISIS.

"What I meant was it's about leadership, and the leadership we provided under extremely difficult circumstances.... To me, I apply that to saying, 'If I were to run and if I were to win and be commander-in-chief, I believe that kind of leadership is what's necessary to take on radical Islamic terrorism.'"

Oh, the arrogance! Right, you called out your capital cops to handle the "extreme difficulty" of Americans exercising their First Amendment rights to protest, which presumably you might support if they would just stay out of your building. That makes you tough enough to tackle ISIS. And, no doubt, an expert on the sociopolitical crises that may give rise to terrorism here and abroad. Quite possibly one of the worst walk-backs I've yet seen.

Beastliness remembered is beastliness held accountable! We will never forget. You may find other sayings by Governor Walker equally as bad or worse compared to the beastly sayings I've chosen. There are certainly plenty to choose from. In other words, your cringeage may vary. Please feel free to discuss.

As promised, just for fun is a photo of cute little weasels together! I don't think they like Scott either, do you?

already served as president on House of Cards, where he resigned early into his first term because he was a stumblebum who weaved around the White House gobbling pills, and who couldn't figure out how to properly funnel corrupt money into his campaign. He is over.

worrisome clown in the clown car, but for some reason he thinks he has a chance. The sooner he tucks tail and scampers back to Wis, the better!

thinks he has a chance because he is dumb as a stump and because Sean Klannity fellates him regularly, live, on the latter's radio show.

I don't think he should go back to Wisconsin, though. Wisconsin has suffered enough. He should instead be stuffed into a metal can and shot off into space, as part of the next Pluto probe.

and pretty surreal to boot. Looks to me like a set up wherein it's going to be Clinton vs. Bush. Bernie is the only semi sane candidate they have allowed on the stage of this farce of an election. Seriously Trump? It pisses me off that the Democrat's refuse to be a valid choice for people with half a brain in their head. I still am dubious about his intention to deliver his supporters to Hillary. I feel like it's like Greece, a set up by the global oligarchical collectivist's to extort your acceptance and ratify your country's demise and any kill off what remains of a representational democratic republic. I will vote for Bernie but in no way vote for the selected candidates the too big's offer as a choice. What a nasty joke. I withdraw my consent though a fat lot of good it will do.

Speaking of Bernie....... in Texas no less.

Speaking of the ordinary Greek people under siege by the global pillagers.... This sounds like Noami Klein's (The Shock Doctrine) antidote for disaster capitalism, community and solidarity. We need a 'counterculture' one that creates a local/regional economies and communities.

Mixed fortunes as solidarity economy takes root in Greece

As money has become tighter in Greece, an alternative “solidarity economy” has sprung up providing everything from food and medical care to hairdressing and language classes to thousands – without a euro changing hands.

The Athens Time Bank, for example, allows members to collect credits by offering an hour of their time to someone who needs their services. The bank boasts doctors, dentists, electricians, yoga teachers and plumbers among its ranks, but the most popular service on offer is psychotherapy – highlighting how years of austerity have eaten away at more than just savings and living standards.

“These are the seeds, we are still in the beginning,” said member Christine Papadopoulou, who is also one of the coordinators of an annual “festival of solidarity” that brings together thousands of people for discussions, concerts and workshops each autumn.

crazy as it may sound, unless the PtB take action to stop him, I think that he may give Jeb a run for the money. Let's face it, Jeb's not particularly popular with the Repub Party Base, only with the Establishment Repubs and Donor Class. (Of course, that's usually what counts.)

BTW, before we left, Mr M had to make a quick trip to Wisconsin, north of us, and saw mostly Trump, and (get this) Ben Carson car stickers. He saw only one sticker for FSC during the entire trip I didn't ask him the routing, but he's pretty savvy, so it would be the most direct and travel/service center friendly route.

At the very least, we are bracing for the 2016 election. The churches around here have already started their canvassing for the election--at three nights per week, until school's back in. Initially, I was shocked at the energy and enthusiasm that many of the more conservative volunteers are feeling about their prospects--there are so many candidates that social/religious conservatives could endorse (at this point).

At any rate, I look forward to the debates, although we're still aggravated that there will only be six Dem Party debates. Without a doubt, though, this election cycle promises to be a fascinating one.
