I unpublished my last essay

Which was titled

Attention Democratic Spokesmodels- The PREMIUM subsidies don't assist "low-income" consumers "afford their deductibles and co-pays"

Because it was wrong, wrong, wrong. I mistook premium subsidies for cost-sharing subsidies which do apparently off-set deductibles and co-pays in Silver Plans on the exchanges. Usually I research before I write and this time I simply went off without doing my due diligence. All the insults I hurled at "Democratic Spokesmodels" I now hurl at myself.

A slice of humble pie is always good for the system on occasion.

the devil is in the details. the basic premise is valid. we are getting screwed in any case. pharma and congress are doing everything to make wealth care useless to most americans. I like the idea of spreading anti-propaganda. the wilder, the better! Smile

The ACA is a Byzantine warren of tiny tunnels designed for one thing and one thing only: to make Big Insurance ever more cash at our expense!

Everything else you said about that tragic farce, except for the item you retracted, is still true.

Felt like an ass and had to apologize.

I think we are all gun-shy of the bullshit. I am getting to the point where I don't want to hear about it or read about it. I want to go to the light. That is all.

you should have left it published and just added an update at the top. I read the essay but I don't recall exactly what it said, so I don't know who said what about which.

All ACA subsidies, regardless of where they are supposedly going to, are actually transfers of money from the public - the taxpayer - to the insurance companies. (or Big Pharma, or the hospitals) It just depends on how much they're tryig to hide it.

@doh1304 remain deeply suspicious of whatever these asshats tell us they're doing "for us." We are still subsidizing the bottom line of medical providers and of course Pharma with it's heavily inflated prices, so while people are getting some care, it really isn't about helping them but the bottom line of private corporations.

I like it that C99 polices the quality of it's content substantially better than TOP.

What's even better is that Admin isn't what does the policing, but the Essay authors themselves. That's the way it should be.

Such things are a sign of a culture which really desires to be reality-based. If JtC enforced it, it might make the articles somewhat cleaner but you can't create a culture that way.
