@QMS I thought of you when I read a headline about the Nor'Easter coming at you. My fingers and toes are crossed for your electricity supply.
The Walmsly video is spot on. Our electrical grid is 2nd world. The EO drops it to 3rd world. While I regard both solar and wind power as cheap energy alternatives, I do not contend they are "green". The components are full of forever poisonous chemicals, and disposal of the blades of the wind "mill" and broken solar panels remain extremely hazardous after they are buried at the garbage pits.
The actor in the Free Bird video has this moment when he stops working and becomes free. For me, it came in stages. The day I stopped handling criminal cases. The day I stopped all family law cases. The day I stopped all probate cases. I received the closing documents to sign on the 9th and was gob smacked at how minimal the closing costs were. I was expecting thousands, but the total is less than $1300. I have spread the word through the courthouse and various government officials to send their friends and neighbors to me for deeds and wills. I already have an appointment Monday morning to draw up a woman's will. A friend at my bank is getting her stuff together to have me prepare her will.
This suits my lifestyle extremely well.

We are getting soaked and blown by the Nor'Easter today. So far, the power has

@Lookout We have had 2 cool mornings and evenings here. I donned a light sweater this morning. Good grief, I am a wuss. Congrats on your weather adding to the pleasantness of your weekly shopping. Speaking of shopping, I monitor my grocery and fuel prices, and they are holding steady. The store shelves and bins are still well stocked.
It seems the UN, the International Criminal Court, and even NATO are all in dire need of teeth. As if threatening a nation with total annihilation, to their face, wasn't bad enough, here comes Netinyahoo, head of our greatest ally nation, bragging about the pagers that blew people's eyes out. Far beyond a farce, it gave a platform to advocate the brutal murder of innocents.
The follow up Xi visit was so bizarre, you have to wonder if the NWO is behind this. AI and social credit scores world wide is coming our way, friend. These are the hand picked, fully groomed guys to make it happen.
I know exactly what you mean about the crazy balancing act of work and homestead projects. One duty is to provide money, the other to provide many things, such as comfort, pride, security, and pleasure.
Our project of the day is to buy a new trap and catch the armadillo(s?) that is tearing up the yard, is it (they?) live under the house. We catch them and turn them loose in the national forest.

A cool 55F this AM. That made it a pleasant stroll through trade day.

The UN general assembly runs through the weekend. Whatta clown show. They make the UN a farce and as empty as our domestic politics.

Retirement sounds like it is progressing nicely. Of all the things I thought I would accomplish after retirement, I only managed a few. The question we ask one another is, "How did we find time to work?"
