I really don't understand this....

How can anyone want someone they do not trust as their leader?

Ben Carson having a 39% trustworthy rating (makes me wonder who the hell they polled), I have the same question you do. I don't understand how people can think its a good idea to elect someone they don't trust. Even if you put it in the "devil you know" category, it only makes sense if you DON'T have a trustworthy alternative--but they DO.

Then again, I've never understood how people who climb up on the stump and declare that government sucks and is the root of all our problems--yet want a permanent job in said entity--get elected. Why would anyone vote for a person who maligns and disavows the very thing they're trying to get elected to?

good question.

As to Hillary, it is a case of "All politicians lie, they have to, but not in anything serious, ya know ..."

Who don't trust their own judgement. Then there are those who have been burned and are leary of anyone they perceive to be to good to be true.

I am thinking the southern A A community falls into the second category. They understand a treacherous white woman, with Bernie they may be thinking there is something they don't see just yet.

I asked my 88 y.o. mom who she supports, Bernie or Hillary. She said Hillary. I asked why? B/C she wants to see a women in the White House.

Then I asked the killer: do you believe that Hillary is telling you the truth. Answer: No, she lies all the time. Mom's disappointed, but will support her nonetheless.

Hillary's style is obvious prevaricating. Bernie's supporters don't trust her but many of her own supporters are well aware of her prevaricating style. It shows up badly, because Bernie is not the typical candidate, he's the real deal and all that Hillary can do is to keep her fingers crossed as she tells lie after lie.

I do think that, god forbid, she gets the nomination, Trump will eviscerate her. Don't go by today's polls as Trump hasn't even started. Did you see Trump's response to Romney's diatribe? He completely eviscerated Romney. Romney is dead politically now, a total failure as a politician and a businessman. It was the best take-down that I have ever seen.

Capitalism has always been the rule of the people by the oligarchs. You only have two choices, eliminate them or restrict their power.

that made me realize he could beat Hillary. I honestly think she should fear getting on a debate stage with him I expect her to look like sweaty uncomfortable Nixon as he just calls her out on things that are sort of true, or at least, true enough.

Hillary has shown that she doesn't really have effective responses to criticism, because her only real response seems to be to call foul for sexism or gin up a lie. It just won't work on Trump or his supporters.

Now, he might be the one candidate distasteful enough to lose anyway, but that's NOT a guarantee.

He very well could have a lot of information that has not been exposed. My takeaway from the soap opera that was the Bill Clinton administration was while they may not have been guilty of anything, they exhibited extremely poor judgement over and over. No I don't think there is a chance she will do well against him.

I don't understand how one can vote for someone who they don't trust! Ask her for me, would she hire a housekeeper that she knew would steal her stuff?

As for Trump... I envision the very first debate, they are both on the stage and at some point Trump pulls out a handful of cancelled checks... and starts reading them off... hundreds for thousands of dollars... and perhaps a list of what he got for those "donations".... If she didn't have a coronary right there I would be surprised.

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties.. This...is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.--John Adams

I can see why peeps would say Carson is both honest and trustworthy: a poll is about perception most of the time, since most of the time people haven't done homework on all potential names in a poll. So Ben "seems" honest and trustworthy despite any actual evidence that might indicate otherwise.

Bernie seems honest and trustworthy, and in fact actually *is* honest and trustworthy Smile

Notice how the ... hmmm ... I was gonna say the 2 Dems but we actually have an Independent running as a Democrat and a Hillary appointed by the Democratic Party ... but anyway notice how they're both extremes of this chart? How odd is it that ALL the Republican names are 'centered' between the Ds?
