Hillary Clinton goes off on Greenpeace activist: (Updated)

I'm sure many of you are aware by now, Hillary has gone and done it again. She has introduced Mrs. Foot, to metaphorical Mr. 45, and pulled the trigger. This latest video clip of her yelling about how she is sick and tired Senator Sanders campaign blah blah, and sticking her thumb in a voter's face, and my gosh, the tone in her voice. Wow, just WOW!

Shoot, by the time we get to the GE, and if she is the democratic nominee, who ever the republican nominee is, well, they can just play one cringe worthy clip after another. Twenty years worth. Heck, this might even be the most "cost" effective campaign in history, because one can just grab video's from youtube and blow a wad of cash promoting it on social media. Hell of a lot cheaper than spending big bucks on air time, no?

At a Clinton rally on the State University of New York at Purchase campus, Eva Resnick-Day, an activist with the environmental justice group Greenpeace, asked Clinton, “Will you act on your word to reject fossil fuel money in the future in your campaign?”

Clinton quickly lost her patience. Her smile promptly morphed into a scowl and she yelled at the environmental activist, “I do not — I have money from people who work for fossil fuel companies.”

“I am so sick of the Sanders campaign lying about me,” Clinton shouted, pointing angrily at Resnick-Day. (Gee, isn't Resnik-Day, with Greenpeace?)

“It is obscene that Secretary Clinton keeps going to big-money people to fund her campaign,” Sanders said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

The senator added that Clinton “has now raised well over $15 million from Wall Street for her super PAC, and millions more from the fossil fuel industry, and from the drug companies.”

The former secretary of state is scheduled to hold a campaign event next month in San Francisco. Clinton is asking for $353,400 for two seats at a table with herself, actor George Clooney and his wife, Amal Clooney.

That's pretty obscene to me. Think about that. What kind of society have we created where people are willing to pay over 300K, three hundred thousand fucking dollars, to sit at a table with a couple of other people? That, to me, is a sickness, a mental illness. We have millions living in extreme poverty here in the US, and Mrs. Clinton wants to raise more money for her campaign to become the most powerful person in the world. Which, as much as she sucks up to Bibi, we'll be bombing Iran post haste, maybe in the 1st 100 days of her administration? OMG, what a nightmare to think about.

The bulk of fossil fuel industry contributions to Priorities USA Action came from two donors. Donald Sussman, the founder and chairman of Paloma Partners, donated $2.5 million. His hedge fund is invested in energy companies like Phillips 66, AGL Resources, and Occidental Petroleum. David Shaw, chief scientist at D.E. Shaw Research, a computational biochemistry research company, gave some $750,000 to the Clinton-affiliated PAC. He also donated $50,000 to Clinton's Ready PAC, formerly known as Ready for Hillary. Shaw served on the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) under presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. His investment management firm D.E. Shaw & Co., LP has major holdings in Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

As well as holding substantial assets in oil and gas, Shaw is also an investor in solar energy projects and an ambitious offshore wind project in New England. Greenpeace said that the split in such investments signals a concerning incongruity in interests, especially given Shaw's role in PCAST, which has previously submitted recommendations to the president to continue efforts to decarbonize the economy and invest in renewable energy.

One icy morning in February 2012, Hillary Clinton's plane touched down in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, which was just digging out from a fierce blizzard. Wrapped in a thick coat, the secretary of state descended the stairs to the snow-covered tarmac, where she and her aides piled into a motorcade bound for the presidential palace. That afternoon, they huddled with Bulgarian leaders, including Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, discussing everything from Syria's bloody civil war to their joint search for loose nukes. But the focus of the talks was fracking. The previous year, Bulgaria had signed a five-year, $68 million deal, granting US oil giant Chevron millions of acres in shale gas concessions. Bulgarians were outraged. Shortly before Clinton arrived, tens of thousands of protesters poured into the streets carrying placards that read "Stop fracking with our water" and "Chevron go home." Bulgaria's parliament responded by voting overwhelmingly for a fracking moratorium.

Clinton urged Bulgarian officials to give fracking another chance. According to Borissov, she agreed to help fly in the "best specialists on these new technologies to present the benefits to the Bulgarian people." But resistance only grew. The following month in neighboring Romania, thousands of people gathered to protest another Chevron fracking project, and Romania's parliament began weighing its own shale gas moratorium. Again Clinton intervened, dispatching her special envoy for energy in Eurasia, Richard Morningstar, to push back against the fracking bans. The State Depart­ment's lobbying effort culminated in late May 2012, when Morningstar held a series of meetings on fracking with top Bulgarian and Romanian officials. He also touted the technology in an interview on Bulgarian national radio, saying it could lead to a fivefold drop in the price of natural gas. A few weeks later, Romania's parliament voted down its proposed fracking ban and Bulgaria's eased its moratorium.

This Mother Jones article is deeply revealing about how she ran our State Department, ahem, a front organization for big oil, spreading the gospel of fracking and letting big oil in on the profits, at the expense of the people of other nations. How's that for human rights advocacy? I'm sure Mrs. Clinton was thinking about those women and children's rights in those countries whose laws are being repealed for big oil to make more money, and continue down the fossil fuel energy exploitation and consumption path. Along with the TTP as the gold standard.

Apologies for a hit and run non-essay earlier. This was fast developing and I wasn't able to dedicate time to it. NEW YORK – Bernie Sanders’ campaign spokesman Michael Briggs issued the following statement on Thursday after Hillary Clinton said she was “sick of the Sanders’ campaign lying about” contributions she received from the fossil fuel industry:

“The truth is that Secretary Clinton has relied heavily on funds from lobbyists working for the oil, gas and coal industry. According to an analysis by Greenpeace, Hillary Clinton’s campaign and her super PAC have received more than $4.5 million from the fossil fuel industry. In fact, 57 oil, gas and coal industry lobbyists have directly contributed to Clinton’s campaign, with 43 of them contributing the maximum allowed for the primary. Eleven of those 53 lobbyists are working as bundlers and have raised over $1.1 million in bundled contributions between them.

“It’s no wonder that back in December Clinton refused to agree to stop accepting money from the fossil fuel industry when pressed at a town hall, saying, ‘I’m not going to do a litmus test on them.’

“If Secretary Clinton wants to discuss this and other important issues she should stop stalling and agree to a debate in New York before the April 19 primary election.”

If he does so by abusing his power it is a problem (sex with an intern is deeply uncool even if she was a willing participant, but I mostly let that one go because she was willing). It is definitely a huge problem if he does it against the will of a woman. Which he did, several times. In my eyes he is a rapist just as Bill Cosby is a rapist.

No vast right-wing conspiracy forced him to do that.

Impeachment against other people would certainly have been justified as well.

I don't need RW talking points to make me dislike and distrust her -- she is very capable of doing it all by herself. And it's in part this sort of slip-up that cements it; she is profoundly fake, and has a thin skin. Just add some stress and she inevitably goes off on somebody. Yeah, I'd feel safe with that answering the 3 am phone call!

Reminds me of somebody else in this election: entitled up the wazoo, lies a lot, punches down, treats people who disagree like dirt. And I am supposed to choose the "lesser" evil? It's getting difficult to tell who that is.

we read crazy things. I just read, from a Clinton supporter, that money in politics is not a big thing. I read a screwball article yesterday that said Hillary is not a liar, that it's all rightwing nonsense. The "proof" is that "she has stood up for women".

In one diary a Shillary-ite justified her taking money from oil industry lobbyists and CEOs by accusing Bernie supporters of hypocrisy because they use gas in their cars. Explaining the difference between consumers and those who are in charge of deciding what consumers are allowed to consume went nowhere fast.

I've seen them justify her friendship with Kissinger because he has foreign policy "experience" and her Iraq war vote because Saddam was a very bad man. I'm thinking the only way to get through any thread on that site is with a heavy dose of magic mushrooms.

Saddam was a very bad man. He was already bad when the US propped him up because he was handy against Iran. He was already bad when he used chemical weapons against Iran -- where exactly was the outrage then? There are very many bad men in the world. Should we bomb all their people back into the stone age because we apparently have to destroy a country to "liberate" it from a very bad man? If we were really against bad men, we'd assassinate them. But apparently that is immoral -- let their people suffer instead.

Firefox has ad locker, flash killer and ghostbusterery along with a lot of other ad ones.
With ad blocker you can block all of a certain domain 's ads. Ghostbusterery is so that 3rd parties can't track your. And flash killer stops those horrible flashing ads, and then use ad locker so you don't see them again.
Since I have finally upgraded my iPad to OS 9, I'm getting those for safari.

And MEK keeps harping about the donations come from the employees even when people give him evidence to the contrary.

I also dropped off a few factual links to Hillary's take from fossil fuel excutives and lobbyists. However, from scanning the thread, they maintain that these are individuals contributing, which is actually not the case in the sense that these are bundlers. It seems that they are taking Hillary's word at face value that she only takes money from individuals without doing any research themselves. I suppose if my hopes were invested in a flawed candidate, I'd probably be reluctant to look at the ugly truth myself.

Several years ago (at least 20) I helped to build a Fantasy Free Form Role Play forum. We created it for writers, not gamers. She was a gift from an artist friend. As with many good things, it only lasted a few years. I have never seen this graphic anywhere else, and am reluctant to part with her. She has been my online persona for more than two decades and I always try to live up to her ideal.
