Haiti can't catch a break

Out-of-control gang violence and political violence in the poorest nation in the hemisphere is more than enough bad news for any society..
That's normally enough, but this is Haiti. The one rule of Haiti is "no matter how bad it is, it can still get worse."

A powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake rocked the western part of Haiti on Saturday, leaving more than two dozen people dead and enormous damage in a country still reeling from the assassination of its president, an official said.
...
In 2010, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit the capital and killed an estimated 300,000 people. John Bellini, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey's National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado, said Saturday's quake is "significantly stronger" and "a lot larger in the amount of energy released" than the one in 2010.

Tsunami warnings have been issued.
You may be tempted to think that this is as bad as it gets, but you would be wrong.
Because at the very same time Tropical Storm Grace is about to hit Haiti today.

brushing off their suits and brushing up on their grift techniques. Rubbing their hands together in glee, they call each other up to discuss their strategy. They've been down this road before - easy pickin's. Stand back. Take a seat. Get the popcorn. Who will come out on top this time? The movie's just begun.

The Clinton grifters have another chance to screw Haiti out of the donations that will be flooding in. Bill took lots of money to give to his friends and family to build expensive things that did nothing to help the people who suffered from a quake in 2010. He took farm land to build a huge factory that no one wanted to work at. Then HerHeinous' state department redirected lots of money to her friends too. I’d have to dig deep to find the info on how they screwed them. And then there’s that story about their woman friend who tried to take kids out of Haiti even though not all were orphans. Gee I wonder what happened to her? Nada IIRC.

That countries keep people there in poverty is beyond words. How easy would it be to lift them out of it? Probably as easy as it would be to lift the poorest here out of it. Might cut down on the violence in poor neighborhoods filled with minorities. John Lewis looking at your home state. From MLK's BFF to sellout after getting into congress. Oops I feel a rant coming on…But I’m so sick of hearing what we do to others just because profits come before people.

Which AIPAC/MIC/pharma/bank bought politician are you going to vote for? Don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

@humphrey SNARK
I am so proud that our people on this site give a shit about Haiti. Maybe we can't help at the moment, but since we know , we might help down the road./
