Friday Night Photos

Still blooming cold around these parts. And we've got the Super Bowel to endure.
But anyway,....
To the photos:

Fred says 'Buonasera!' as he does the laundry (he's on some Italian kick,... who knows).
Off to indulge in ravioli. Feel free to have a food fight.

Charlie looks like a happy cat
We recently had an in-floor heating malfunction (i.e., it wouldn't turn off). The cats were glued to the floor.
Gëzuar!!

I'm sure they were ... glued to the floor.
I had to say goodbye yesterday to my best friend's 20 year old cat, who I sometimes babysat. He sat so close to the blazing heat of the wood stove. I always wondered how he could tolerate such intense heat.
Hey Janis
20 years is a pretty good innings, but still, it's hard to say goodbye.

I see you're still in sports mode ...
"pretty good innings'. Thanks for the smile Bollox.
Well,
If one human year = seven cat years, your friend's cat made 140 which, in cricket, is a very good innings indeed for a batsman.

Yes, indeed. n/t
Right, huh...
I had the thought this morning that it's the fur that let's them be able to get that hot. Charlie is indeed a very happy soul and aims to please. His name was Harley when I got him from the pound because he belonged to a motorcycle gang. We renamed him Charlie.

The shot of
the wild Savannah rocks. I like how the middle ground is so crisp. And the colors.

Hi magiamma
I look forward to listening to the fossil-free video later. Thank you for your photos and environmental focus.
Hi Janis
Thanks. It's hard not to post a whole list of crazy about The Heating. But here is one that made me think of you. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2018/01/27/fire-j27.html. I guess we have front row seats. (edit buy to but)

Australia is far hotter.
But this summer in New Zealand has been the hottest in my 21 years here ... and in the hundred years on record.
... until 2 days ago. At the moment it is thundering loudly, and the temperatures have dropped significantly. It's all a bit weird.
Love the waves in the second picture
Sigh. It makes me long for the beach. Someday..

Hi snoopy
Thanks. It was a pretty spectacular low tide with the super whatchamahoony moon thingy. Again unseasonably warm here. Late spring like. Lovely except it is early February.

Thanks for Fri Photos tonight, BR
Fred doing the laundry. He sounds like a real team player.
Some shots from a trip to the San Francisco Bay Area last November.
I'm great at multi-tasking. I can waste time, be unproductive, and procrastinate all at the same time.
Been to L.A. twice
Unfortunately, never to San Francisco.

I left my heart there
The time when I could go there on a whim. Just over a hour and I was strolling the streets of San Francisco.

Hi Social
Love San Francisco. Love your shots of it. I particularly like the one of the trolley. We are an hour south or so.

How much of a help is Fred?
If he does help with your laundry you're lucky. Mine used to scatter mine everywhere, especially my bed covers.
I finally caught my first lightning strike. I don't know how many years I've been trying to do this.

Very cool!
Never managed to do that.
Fred sits on the washing and keeps it all warm.

Worth the wait, don’t you think!
To me, the lightening looks like a rocket launch, or an electric bird in flight.
It's trying to guess
when the next strike will happen which makes it so difficult to capture. I've seen pictures of strikes over the water or deserts and wanted to do it. But it isn't easy.
Thanks, Janis. Yes it was very worth the wait to capture it. This time I was able to stay dry because I was underneath my patio awning. As long as the wind wasn't blowing hard I could put my camera under a trash bag, but that made it more of a hassle.

Glad it wasn't too much of a hassle
and you caught it.
Wow !
That is spectacular Snoopy. Congrads.

Thanks. I'm proud of it
Mostly because I've been trying for so long to get it. You should see the ones that didn't turn out.

It was a dark and stormy night?
Art projects of minerals and rocks, buying tumbled and rough slabbed stones and polished cabochons. All for placement in windowsills. It's possible if one is a millionaire to spend hundreds on rocks. That would not be me. Still on a learning curve and I did this as a kid. Pix when some have been assembled. I am not into crystal woo, just colors and shapes.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
Hi Bollox
I hope the ravioli compensates for the super bowel.
I really like the wild savannah. I keep looking for wild animals hidden there.
Shadowplay ...
Inverted, rotated, and flipped ...
That seriously looks
Like a hand shadow. Love the push pull of the composition.

What can I say? I'm slow.

Come on snoopy,
[video:https://youtu.be/Nuw8GJbqx94]
Evening everyone.
I got nothing this week. It's been too cold to go anywhere again and I just didn't have time anyway. It's been another rough week. I could share photos of the trees in the park being cut down but that would probably just make me more angry.
This shit is bananas.
Something to make you smile, maybe.
I googled PITA after your comment in your essay (and before I added 'abbreviation'), and this was the first thing I saw ...

Chupe'
My little dear Chupe', she's 14 years and still pretty strong, I don't know what I would do without her.
Beautiful portrait and dog.
The chuckle birds are back
So I dug up this oldie but goodie, was practicing with my friend's new lens out her kitchen window. Total accident.
American Robin with a toyon berry
Yes they can eat too many and not fly right too. Huh.
Nice photo, eyo.
Birds sometimes need to call a taxi, after imbibing.
How are you doing?
I really like the first one
the glass ornament. I see it big, like 7' x 10' in a big space.
Thanks!
