Early for Bernie in MO
I am a new member here, and I about flipped last week when I realized that the trip I'd been planning with my sister and step-mom to Arizona to scatter my dad's ashes would begin at 5am on Tuesday, March 15 ... Primary day here I Missouri! I've been looking forward to voting for Bernie for months, giving to his campaign, and here I was going to miss it.
I started checking into an absentee ballot and decided I wouldn't feel comfortable voting by mail; I just have to drop the ballot in the box myself. I found that all I had to do was drive to Independence (the county seat) and get a ballot from the Board of Elections. They are open From 8:30 - 5, Monday through Friday, and they'll be open this Saturday as well.
I'm fortunate to work a job where I can arrange my schedule to be able to leave work in time to make the 20 minute drive, and, of course, that I have transportation as well. If you don't, and need to vote Absentee in Missouri this year, time is running out to get your request in - this Wednesday is the deadline. I believe faxing your request in is an option.
