It's a zen thing . . .
How do you find Serenity during times of High Stress?
I like to contemplate, in breathless anticipation, the imminent onset of super-symmetry!

The transformation of this arrangement of elements:
into this, immensely satisfying, arrangement of elements:
Is the very definition of Serenity . . .
Okay, it is for the likes of people like me, and my granddaughter.

Jeebus, Solitaire was a goodie
and better when I discovered pinochle decks. My grandmother taught me solitaire, she had an old collapsible sewing table, ruler inlaid, that I learned to play on. That spindly-legged table is in my possession, holding a phone and charging stand. Time flies!
Out this day before 9AM, hitting Lowes for plant infill, and additional herbs. Dog food next complex. Home again, trying to assemble pots for all. That is serenity. Then sitting in the sun, strong now w/breeze, I fell asleep or trance and awoke to discover missing puppy. After I had spent 20 minutes trying to tighten the enclosure of deer fencing with zip ties, reweaving.
She was out (again) but eventually came back to call, not telling me where she had gone. We are still working out this relationship. Still good.
Hey! my dear friends or soon-to-be's, JtC could use the donations to keep this site functioning for those of us who can still see the life preserver or flotsam in the water.
The best stress buster for me
is at home. I sit down on the floor and within seconds I'm surrounded by all my cats, with the dog laying close in case the cats get too rambunctious, I guess. (gryn)
Surrounded by purrs and soft fur, kisses and scritches galore... there's nothing like having your "family" close around you to calm you... or at least divert your mind as you laugh at their antics!
Depends on the type of stress
If it is the overwhelmed type of stress, then it's all about the critters (comfort) or drawing or crafts or logic puzzles/games. Essentially, something I can zero in on and focus.
If it is maddening stress, then it is time to weed or spring clean. I do chores every day, but I only clean when I am stressed.
