Russia Registers World's First Nasal Vaccine Against COVID-19 Sputnik News 4-1-22

Russia has registered the world's first nasal vaccine against the COVID-19 infection.
According to the Russian Health Ministry, the nasal vaccine consists of two doses that should be sprayed within a three-week interval.
The nasal vaccine has been approved for everyone aged above 18 years.
Last year, the Gamaleya Research Institute announced the creation of a nasal form of its Sputnik V vaccine. Russian President Putin later said he took the nasal vaccine as a booster.

Interesting to watch the Covid origination stories repeated to a wider and wider audiences. Many publications keep revisiting only two possibilities Lab Leak Theory or Natural Origin. Leaves the audience with the feeling they totally know the inside scoop. At the very end of a long article this it is suggested Wuhan Market was not the source of Covid. But, if one stopped reading earlier in the article one could assume Wuhan was the beginning of the saga.

“This Shouldn’t Happen”: Inside the Virus-Hunting Nonprofit at the Center of the Lab-Leak ControversyVanity Fair March 31, 2022

Chasing scientific renown, grant dollars, and approval from Dr. Anthony Fauci, Peter Daszak transformed the environmental nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance into a government-funded sponsor of risky, cutting-edge virus research in both the U.S. and Wuhan, China. Drawing on more than 100,000 leaked documents, a V.F. investigation shows how an organization dedicated to preventing the next pandemic found itself suspected of helping start one.
...
The dispute over COVID-19’s origins has become increasingly acrimonious, with warring camps of scientists trading personal insults on Twitter feeds. Natural-origin proponents argue that the virus, like so many before it, emerged from the well-known phenomenon of natural spillover, jumping from a bat host to an intermediate species before going on to infect humans. Those suspecting a lab-related incident point to an array of possible scenarios, from inadvertent exposure of a scientist during field research to the accidental release of a natural or manipulated strain during laboratory work. The lack of concrete evidence supporting either theory has only increased the rancor. “Everyone is looking for a smoking gun that would render any reasonable doubt impossible,” says Amir Attaran, a biologist and lawyer at the University of Ottawa. Without cooperation from the Chinese government, that may be impossible
...
n February 25, 2022, a day before Worobey, Andersen, Garry, and their 15 coauthors rushed their preprints into the public domain, claiming “dispositive evidence” that SARS-CoV-2 originated from the Huanan market, China’s CDC published a preprint of its own that contained new data and pointed to a different conclusion. It revealed that, of the 457 swabs taken from 18 species of animals in the market, none contained any evidence of the virus. Rather, the virus was found in 73 swabs taken from around the market’s environment, all linked to human infections. Thus, while the samples proved the market served as an “amplifier” of viral spread, they did not prove the market was the source.

Meanwhile, an analysis published on March 16 in the medical journal BMJ Global Health, written by a group of Italian scientists and coauthored by Sergei Pond, cites a growing body of studies indicating that the virus may have been spreading worldwide for weeks, or even months, before the officially recognized start date of December 2019. If true, this would entirely upend the presumption of the market as the genesis of the pandemic.

“There are still a lot of credible questions that have not been answered,” says Pond. And with “no overwhelming evidence in either direction,” he adds, he is “puzzled as to why it’s necessary to push in one direction.” (Responding to written questions, Andersen said, “I have no particular stake in the idea that SARS-CoV-2 came from the market and not from virology research. The science speaks for itself and the evidence is clear.”)

Simon Wain-Hobson has his own hypothesis for what is taking place: The group of scientists pushing the claim of natural origin, he says, “want to show that virology is not responsible [for causing the pandemic]. That is their agenda.”

Using Covid as one of the reasons to bring manufacturing back to the United States.
Covid and war reshoring America Inc Asia Times March 24, 2022

For generations, American chief executive officers (CEOs) have believed it was their job to create global platforms that would maximize their short-term profits and hence their stock price (and their own compensation, which has been closely linked.)

It did not matter where their companies sold their products or services, where they obtained financing or where they developed or sold technology. Phil Knight of Nike was one of the first to take advantage of “Third World labor arbitrage” by producing his athletic shoes in China, India and Vietnam. “Globalization” became the rage as CEOs shuttered US factories and built new ones in Asia and Mexico.

But the Covid pandemic, the war in Ukraine, increasingly cozy relations between China and Russia, and China’s own exertion of power internationally are challenging the conviction of CEOs that they can be truly “stateless.”
...
As a correspondent based in Hong Kong and Beijing from 1979 to 1982, I witnessed the early stages of American companies moving into China. They (and I) believed that it was fine for them to pursue profits in China because it was ultimately in America’s best interests.
...
China already is lending diplomatic support and is helping to disseminate Russia’s propaganda as part of its effort to tilt the “global discourse” away from Western control. That already represents key support for Russia because the control of opinion is so important. That already should serve as a cautionary flag to American CEOs heavily dependent on China as a market or manufacturing platform.

But what if it is revealed that the Chinese have provided technological or military support to Putin?
...
American CEOs may be forced to move in the direction of how their predecessors behaved in World War II. Those business leaders created a war production board and organized themselves to make the things that America needed to prevail.

When the American system coalesces around common goals, as is often argued, it is the most powerful system in the world. It was acceptable to allow American companies to go global and stateless during the decades when the United States enjoyed unchallenged power.

But that era is now over. It’s time for American CEOs once again to start playing for the home team.

placing the immune response at the site of infection. I've been suggesting that strategy for awhile. Additionally the Sputnik Vax is safer than the experimental mRNA we are testing on our population.

The Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V (Gam-COVID-Vac) is an adenoviral-based, two-part vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.Initially produced in Russia in 2020, Sputnik V uses a weakened virus to deliver small parts of a pathogen and stimulate an immune response.

Australian parliament speaking out

Australian doctors are threatened if they say anything about the mRNA shots injuries or early treatments.

Every doctor in America received this letter

Our congress is AWOL on standing up for us except for Ron Johnson, but I’m not seeing much coming out of his hearings. Maybe after republicans take the senate something will happen, but how many more people will be injured or die between now and January?

Pfizer has released its 3rd installment on their mRNA shots and I’ll post a link later if anyone is interested.

@snoopydawg medicine by varying from the official line on COVID. There is the threat of losing a career requiring years of dedication to practice. More importantly a physician would be running the risk of abandoning all their regular patients. For a person who cares this is a great lever for behavior control.

Joint Statement from the American Board of Family Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine, and American Board of Pediatrics on Dissemination of Misinformation by Board-Certified Physicians About COVID-19

The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), which supports its member state medical licensing boards, has recently issued a statement saying that providing misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine contradicts physicians’ ethical and professional responsibilities, and therefore may subject a physician to disciplinary actions, including suspension or revocation of their medical license. We at the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) support FSMB’s position. We also want all physicians certified by our Boards to know that such unethical or unprofessional conduct may prompt their respective Board to take action that could put their certification at risk.

Expertise matters, and board-certified physicians have demonstrated that they have stayed current in their field. Spreading misinformation or falsehoods to the public during a time of a public health emergency goes against everything our Boards and our community of board-certified physicians stand for. The evidence that we have safe, effective, and widely available vaccines against COVID-19 is overwhelming. We are particularly concerned about physicians who use their authority to denigrate vaccination at a time when vaccines continue to demonstrate excellent effectiveness against severe illness, hospitalization, and death.

We all look to board-certified physicians to provide outstanding care and guidance; providing misinformation about a lethal disease is unethical, unprofessional, and dangerous. In times of medical emergency, the community of expert physicians committed to science and evidence collectively shares a responsibility for giving the public the most accurate and timely health information available, so they can make decisions that work best for themselves and their families.

I don’t know if doctors are aware of the Pfizer data that has been released, but if they are they should be allowed to use it when their patients ask them if they should take another jab. The letter was sent out last September.

Kansas senate has authorized doctors to prescribe ivermectin. Hopefully more states will follow. Doctors should have complete autonomy to treat their patients as they deem fit as long as they do no harm. But congress passed legislation that tied their hands.

@snoopydawg evidence has more value than patient's clinical presentation a physician may be actively trying to help.

This is very similar playbook to the persecution of all nonMedical Doctor approved medical treatments in the past. Only now the authority of defining approved treatments is being taken from practicing physicians to given to Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and government organizations.

@wouldsman It's nothing new. It's always been the role of the state medical boards. The letter says nothing about ivermectin. I wouldn't worry too much. You can say that vaccines make you magnetic and still get your license renewed:

@innatimm non-medical professionals from approved published research vs a practicing medical professional taking a careful look at current practice guidelines, currant condition of patient, changes in condition, family situation, economic situation and past history of individual responses to treatment and existing co-morbidities.

One size fits all does not work in clothing, so why should it work in medicine.

If one has been following the evolution of the Official Information regarding Covid the changes over the years would be unnoticeable. Detailed information about small subsets of patient groups are now included due to practicing medical professionals not following Official Guidelines. They have been pushing the envelope providing reportable "misinformation" to their patients and the medical community.

Our government official have provided a significant amount of misinformation to encourage citizens to follow Official Guidelines vs minimize infection rate and deaths.

The logic seems undeniable to me. Who would know better what treatments are effective than doctors who are treating patients directly and individually. That some have used alternative treatments successfully and are deterred from using or promoting them is very unfair.

@janis b All I read about as far as 'misinformation' and pandemics are not doctors They are the dicey stats cooked up by techies, statisticians, and so called epidemic experts. There doesn't really seem to be any 'doctors' for most of us. ER's yippie. There is no way I would go to an ER these days. Spent enough time in them when I was younger.

Found a good local heath clinic years ago called Zoom Care which was recently eaten by a venture capital company called Endeavor Capital. They also ate my local grocery healthy chain. They then sold it to a Korean corporation. There are no doctors just biotech, pharmaceutical vultures along with "saw bones' happy surgeons. Me I'm looking to traditional non western Chinese medicine that is more into healing people. Hard to find as the aggressive non healthcare industry rules the roost.

that many doctors were unable to practice because they chose not to be vaccinated, and equally unfortunate that the majority of doctors who are practicing are unable to provide a variety of alternative treatments. That would have caused many more to end up in hospital or worse, dead. There are a few doctors who continue one way or another to provide alternative treatments successfully. One would be lucky to have their guidance.

I’m glad you found care in Chinese medicine. I wonder if this whole mess has been a catalyst for more people to seek other, more personal ways of caring for themselves.

Stay well

@janis b It's hard if you do not trust the medical/pharmaceutical corporate system We need to find alternatives. I'm not vaxxed which makes it more complicated. Realize I'm paranoid but believe me it's with good reason. Our so called healthcare system is really messed up. Used to go to a Chinese acupuncturist/doctor who was also a cardiologist in China. She retired. I'll find someone if they release this insane papers please and bogus testing. Not anti-science just don't trust data pushers with their stats that offer no real insight whatsoever. If I could find a good doctor western or Chinese I'd be happy. Sadly that's easier said then done.

I wonder how long this destructive farce will go on - people going without beneficial health care they need and deserve.

Do you have health practitioners there that will work with the unvaccinated? I know a few here who had to give up their titles because they chose not to play in the system. They are still practicing and working with unvaccinated people. Some like massage and other types of therapists can now work officially without demanding vaccine passes. Some choose to, and others not. I don’t know what regulations are in that regard where you live.

Keep well.

Misinformaiton is partially addressed on page 33 and 34.

  • Continue efforts to monitor and combat misinformation. HHS has spearheaded initiatives to address misinformation about COVID-19 vaccines, including identifying trending inaccurate information and confronting it immediately. The Administration has worked on public education and outreach to address and stop the spread of misinformation, mobilized trusted messengers at the community level to combat misinformation, and accelerated research on combating misinformation. The Administration is continuing its work to equip Americans with the tools to identify misinformation and to invest in longer- term efforts to build resilience against health misinformation.
  • Issue a Request for Information (RFI) from researchers, healthcare workers, tech platforms, and community organizations on the impact of health misinformation during the pandemic. The Surgeon General’s office will issue a Request for Information on the impact of health misinformation online during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this RFI is to understand the impact of COVID-19 misinformation on health care infrastructure during the pandemic including quality of care, health decisions, costs, and worker morale and safety; the unique role that technology platforms play in the societal response to the COVID-19 pandemic and implications for future public health emergencies; and the human impact of health misinformation and how access to accurate health information impacts lifesaving health decisions such as whether Americans get vaccinated. The Administration will use this information to address future public health crises; and public comments and submissions will be made available to the public and can be used for research purposes.

This is one opinion.

Rat Out Your Doctor: Biden's Surgeon General Calls on Informants to Report Use of Generic Drugs RESCUE with Michael Capuzzo March 11, 2022

Covid may be disappearing, but Covid Big Brother is here to stay unless the rest of us get informed and do something about it.

In a government proclamation that should be setting off alarm bells for anyone who values the rights guaranteed to Americans under the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution—which unequivocally states that “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press”—the Biden Administration is now apparently endeavoring to sidestep that Constitutional safeguard via an official request from the Office of the Surgeon General for anyone who feels they have been impacted in any manner by “misinformation” regarding the pandemic to report it in detail to the authorities. It would also like this effort to be aided and abetted by “major tech platforms,” according to The New York Times.

Ironically enough, the announcement came on the same day that administration officials were said to be deeply concerned about Russia’s crackdown on what that country was calling “fake news” regarding its brutal war on Ukraine by threatening journalists with fifteen-year prison sentences simply for using the word “invasion.” While we’re nowhere near that point, there has been an ongoing and concerted effort by U.S. health agencies to make the use of another “I” word—ivermectin—all but verboten in establishment media.

The surveillance request has been described by major media as all part of the administration’s National Covid-19 Preparedness Plan, the purported purpose of which is to address the pandemic in the coming months with “minimal disruption.” The plan also includes proposed spending on new treatments, developing vaccines for new variants and vaccinating the parts of the world that have so far been relying—extremely successfully—on inexpensive repurposed drugs.
