Democrats attempting to club progressives into submission again

brock.PNG
The Democratic Party insiders are ready to knife any progressive that dares to speak up. David Brock's article is a perfect example.

I'm hardly the only political observer who blames Hillary Clinton's general election defeat to Donald Trump in part on personal attacks on Clinton first made by Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and his backers. Those attacks from her left laid the groundwork for copycat attacks lobbed by Donald Trump — and, in the process, helped hand the Supreme Court to the right-wing for a generation.

That's the very first paragraph in the article. It only gets worse after that.

The establishment's objective is to enforce conformity in the same manner that Democratic Party leaders tried to coerce supporters of Sanders into lining up behind Hillary Clinton in 2016.
The entire effort only succeeded into depressing turnout to the point that they lost to the most unpopular presidential candidate in history.
David Brock is hardly alone in this highly coordinated Democratic Party attack on the left. He's just the most shameless.

If you want a quality illustration of what a manipulative sociopath David Brock is, contrast his obnoxious, dishonest accusatory screed with his open letter to Sanders at the beginning of 2017 titled “Dear Senator Sanders: I’m with You in the Fight Ahead”. Brock apologized for his harsh attacks on Sanders, gushed about the way Bernie “electrified millions” with his campaign and pledged to work with him to harness that energy against Trump. Brock wanted something from Sanders (control of his base in this case), so he smothered him in flattery; now people are criticizing Beto “Like Obama, only white” O’Rourke, and all of a sudden Sanders is back to being a red commie menace whose “character attacks” are to blame for Hillary Clinton’s loss. Brock has no relationship with truth beyond his ability to twist it to get things he wants.

review.PNG
Sometimes the Dem insiders are even less subtle than Brock.

Claire McCaskill has two words for her progressive critics: “Shut up.”
“Really? This is hard,” McCaskill said of running as a Democrat in a red state. “I have been standing in the breach for women’s rights as it relates to reproductive freedom for all of my adult life, and the fact that these [critics] didn’t realize that and just be quiet, roll up their sleeves, and work their ass off for me was beyond irritating.”

The level of condescension and privilege really is stunning.
Of course what McCaskill is saying is the same thing that Brock is saying.

Even moderate opponents of Pelosi have been given a warning. It's not subtle.
pelosi.PNG
Progressives are more active than anytime in memory, and that really annoys the Democratic Party leadership.

Unfortunately, Pelosi, Schumer and Hoyer are doing everything in their power to keep the progressive insurgency in check, and keep their neoliberal/corporate money machine in power. Beyond the many moral and ethical problems with this, it’s just plain stupid politics. About the only way Democrats could lose their 2018 momentum in 2020 is to return to the same old neoliberal, corporate-friendly policies that lost them the election in 2016.

They’re being supported by most of the mainstream media, many of the pundits who’ve been the architects of the Democratic Party’s precipitous decline over the last few decades, and a robust and well-funded neoliberal infrastructure composed of not-for-profits, many unions, foundations, and public interest groups, who’ve gone into overdrive on their anti-Bernie campaign. It was this neoliberal mafia that helped deliver the nomination to Hillary Clinton in 2016, which in turn depressed turnout to the point that Trump was able to win the election with just over 26 percent of eligible voters.

A good example of this is the coordinated attack-the-messenger campaign against award-winning investigative journalist David Sirota, when he had the nerve to point out that Beto isn't a progressive.
This campaign comes from the very same people who clutch their pearls every time Trump says something negative about the media.

The establishment's neoliberal mafia primary tool is Identity Politics, and it's tactics are almost exactly the same as Republicans.

So I asked Ken if he agreed that the president’s primary task is to improve the economic lives of as many Americans as possible, and, sure enough, he said no. Politics have flipped now. We’ve heard, forever, that the GOP cleverly uses wedge issues to get people to go against their own economic interests, but that’s exactly what the Democratic Party’s now become. Its “wedge issues” are the issues of identity politics. “Take Hillary over Bernie because she talks the talk.”

Unless progressives fight back, we are headed towards a future of two neoliberal/neoconservative parties with the only differences being their style.

1. Which race they hate.
2. Which gender they hate.
3. Which major world power do they hate - Russia or China?

I said hallelujah to the sixteen loyal fans
You'll get down on your mothafuckin' knees
And it's time for your sickness again
Come on and tell me what you need
Tell me what is making you bleed
We got two more minutes and
We gonna cut to what you need
So one of six so tell me
One do you want to live
And one of seven tell me
Is it time for your mothafuckin' ass to give
Tell me is it time to get down on your mothafuckin' knees
Tell me is it time to get down

Second, I wonder how Brock contemplates silencing all of Bernie's supporters? Is he preparing some sort of gulag?

Third, I just don't believe that Brock changed from a Republican Clinton hater to a Hillary acolyte simply by doing a book about her that started out as a hit piece. I think the man is owned, literally and figuratively by the Clintons.

Personally, I suspect (with no evidence but decades of watching her shenanigans) that she'll sit back, let everyone chew each other up, and emerge mid-season to "save the day" for Democrats. Or maybe she'll go full Humphrey and be installed at the Convention.

The same posters who pretended to be supporters of Sanders when he announced -- so they could later say, "I supported Bernie until (insert here imaginary bad deed)" were very recognizable under different screen names when they posted to "correct the record." David Brock, master astro-turfer, King of Trolls, more than a little bit nutty, should not point and wag his hypocritical finger. Some of us were Dems long before him, watched the Clintons destroy the party by moving it right, and then watched him join. Now he is self-appointed arbiter of what is Democratic? Whilst he astro-turfs? If he was on fire I would not piss on him to put him out.

What he did, his plan did at least as much damage of the most negative sort to the party. Whereas Bernie positively affected it by energizing people to be involved. David discouraged them. And paid people to. What a POS he is. The article is more projection than anything, virtually all of it blaming Bernie for the results of what he and his crowd did. The Dems have used Russia to not discuss what really happened, and so now the same Neeras and Brockroaches are back to do the same thing again because they are too stupid to learn from their mistakes. This was the plan, they are still at the top of the consultant class food chain, er, money funnel. David Brock is a whore just like the people he supports in politics. Joe Biden is less creepy than David Brock.

This is just his first shot across the bow, lest any of you that think for yourselves get any ideas. Hey maybe he is real good with cows or sheep?

What I am seeing early on is a populist movement already starting. People seem much wiser about the Democrats and the Media trying to poison the People's message. Even those who have succumbed to the Russian Hoax are able to spot the sabotage and are calling it out.

Case in point: Just this hour, Google News added a CNN video clip from today (on YouTube). The clip portrays CNN painting Bernie Sanders as a sexual predator apologist.

Head over to YouTube and look at the comments below the clip. These people saw even more that I did and were way more cynical.

I expect that attitude to grow with the attacks on the Left. It could be the beginning of a natural born political movement.

Anderson asked Bernie about this and this is what he said. "Yes I was busy trying to win an election at the time." Just what else does he need to say?

targeted disrespect. Good grief. How many offices did Bernie have during the primary? And he's supposed to know what happens in each one? How much of the video was edited off? Did Bernie say anything else instead of what was shown?

Bernie Bro culture? What was that? I'm sorry, but I see this as bullshit because it's coming out two years after it happened. "He should offer much more of an apology!!!" BTW interviewing lady. Have you contacted anyone else who worked for Hillary and asked them if they had experienced the same things? If not then go away. This just proves that you have a bone to pick with Bernie.

There must be state and local candidates and an effort to get someone on the ballot in every Congressional district. Even if there is no paid advertising. Internet, word of mouth, and just seeing another choice on the ballot )or ANY choice on the ballot! EVERY cook County Illinois race was Soviet-style one party ballot).

I voted for Jill Stein, but the only other Greens were running for the Metropolitan water reclamation District (voted for them too). Not one legislative race, state or federal.
I can't take anyone seriously that wants to start at the top, instead of working their way up.

"Green" is a bad name too. Most people associated with toilets that clog all the time and driving kiddie cars or turning the thermostat down to freeze or broil.
I'd rather see "socialist" or "peoples" people will associate those with Communism, so change them a bit. "Working Man's Party" instead "Workers Party". How about Ninety Nine Percent Party? Average Man Party? Personally, I like "American Party", although I concede it has Jingoist/anti-immigration overtones. "Newer Deal", "Roosevelt Party"? Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and his backers. Those attacks from her left laid the groundwork for copycat attacks lobbed by Donald Trump — and, in the process, helped hand the Supreme Court to the right-wing for a generation

.

I guess I'm one of the people on the left who 'attacked' Her, but then I got the information to do so from watching what she had been doing for years, including her being okay with every military intervention she knew about. This goes back to when Bill was president and she talked him into the ones during his tenure. There was no reason for her to vote for the Iraq war if she didn't want to be tarnished by her vote and I'm thinking that if she hadn't a few other who were on the fence might not have. But then she doubled down and encouraged Obama to destabilize Libya. Even when she wasn't in government she was strongly advocating for a no fly zone over Syria. She's torched that Trump said he was going to bring troops out of Syria. These are just a few things that tell me that she is a psychotic warmonger and if she ever becomes president then we'll never stop our marching towards global hegemony.

I'm betting she is going to run. She still thinks it's her turn. So do her supporters, but I'm worried that the PTB will let her have the win this time.

Who held a gun to her head and made her decide that boneheaded decision to give paid speeches to the banks? After she had spent her tenure as SOS getting money to influence decisions her state department made she was arrogant enough to do it again before she 'became' president.

Regardless of the path in life I chose, I realize it's always forward, never straight.

@Pricknick
Love of power, too. The psychotic need to have victims plead with you to not hurt them any more.

was already handed to the right wing, to the point that John Paul Stevens ended up being viewed as a liberal, up to the point that Ann Coulter suggested he should be served arsenic in his tea.

...anymore, unless the people rise up and vote in a non-party independent who represents them as President. This is probably their last chance.

The Deep State and CFR occupy both candidates. You have minor domestic differences, but all the money will bleed out to the globalist agenda. The income/wealth gap widens, the people are fully surveilled and policed as they continue their slide down the slope, so the point is moot.

@The Voice In the Wilderness since they want many of the same things (keep the cash flowing). Once he's POTUS things would be vewy vewy qwiet in the White House and they'd all do the oligarchs' bidding without the turmoil/uproar getting in the way.
