Das Kabinett vom Führer Donald Drumpf

Yes we know DT is bad but his gang is worse, if that can be possible. Steve Bannon, anti-semitic rabble rouser, sets the tone for the 4th Reich. (H/T to MsGrin)

“fond of promoting rivalries among subordinates, wary of delegating major decisions, scornful of convention and fiercely insistent on a culture of loyalty around him.”

Where have we seen that management style before? Think. Think. Think. The answer is provided by Mr. Godwin: Adolf Hitler. The above caption taken from Foreign Policy Magazine precisely summarizes the modus operandi of Herr Drumpf perfectly, aided and abetted by Steve Bannon.

Mr. Bannon has the correct credentials, have belonged to FRW (far right wing) organizations for many years.

So, with Cabinet positions largely decided, with some still in play, I have looked back to the Third Reich for analogies to the current crop of cabinetmakers. In the days of AH, there were not so many cabinet positions as there are now in our overly complex system of governance. Therefore, several of the Nazi gang will be cited with leadership of several Cabinet level departments.

Now some of you may quibble with my choices, so be it--but expect knocks on your doors at night.

Look for Keith Ellison to be deported with other Muslims
Look for Roger Ailes to become Minister of Disinformation
Look for police marksmanship training using people of color as targets...oh, that's being done already.

“So most members of Congress had no idea the travel ban was coming, but a handful of congressional staffers helped the Trump administration write it? And they signed non-disclosure agreements so they wouldn’t even be able to tell their bosses (members of Congress, and, ultimately, US taxpayers) about the side work? And everyone is OK with this? The disclosure that staffers on Rep. Robert Goodlatte’s House Judiciary Committee worked alongside Trump aides on this order should be rocking Capitol Hill. It suggests that the administration was trying to work as quickly as it could and as quietly as feasible – a potentially troubling template for the future. If members of Congress aren’t troubled by this, they’re missing a big warning sign for the separation of powers” [The Note].

@ggersh Remember it only hurts while I laugh--I'm not laughing but the following quotation from ggersh's citation is, if nothing else, chutzpah:

“Trump administration is radicalizing Democratic voters, creating a challenge for the party, Rep. Adam Schiff says” [Los Angeles Times]. That’s a shame. This is classic:

“We have two of the most capable strategists as the head of our House and Senate Democrats,” Schiff added, referring to House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco and Senate Democratic leader Sen. Charles E. Schumer of New York.

“If anybody can grapple with this, they can, but it’s going to be a challenging and moving target day to day.”

Excuse, Mr. Schiff, but didn't Nancy P. say that Democrats don't need no stinking changes? Chuck E. Schemer has been a proven master of DemocRATic resistance, which used to be called "duck and cover" but is now called "bipartisanship".

@Alligator Ed Trump and the 3rd way Dems.

“A check on this administration” says it all. When are Democrats going to be for something? I mean, besides Third Way-style Clintonian excrementalism

Have a one of them said/done anything that considers there supposed constituents? that's rhetorical.

NBC News reported in August: The court declaration from the ex-wife outlined three separate anti-Semitic remarks that Bannon allegedly made as she toured some of the most elite private schools in the Los Angeles area for their daughters.

At one, Westland School, Bannon’s ex-wife said he “asked the director why there were so many Chanukah books in the library.”

Then after the couple toured Willows Community School, she said he “asked me if it bothered me that the school used to be in a Temple. I said no and asked why he asked … he did not respond.”

Regarding another academy, The Archer School for Girls, the ex-wife claimed Bannon “went on to say the biggest problem he had with Archer is the number of Jews that attend. He said that he doesn’t like Jews and that he doesn’t like the way they raise their kids to be ‘whiney brats’ and that he didn’t want the girls going to school with Jews.”

@hester My take is that Jared Kushner doesn't like Steve Bannon, after all what self-respecting Jew would? He tolerates him for the sake of governance. But Ivanka and the children are Jewish too. Whatever we may think about Trump, he is a devoted father and grandfather. I(f Bannon doesn't keep his lip zipped on this issue, DT will "reluctantly" accept his resignation.

He'll holler "You're Fired!" loudly and publicly, just like on "The Apprentice". I bet he's secretly itching for a chance to do that.

Frankly, I think comparisons to Adolf, or even to Benito, are off-base. The character he most resembles is the much more recent Silvio Berlusconi, only with even less couth. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silvio_Berlusconi

It's the creeps under and behind him we need to watch more closely.
