British spy uncovered in the Bernie campaign

Hmmm. But Russia is the problem.

Have you ever noticed that mainstream politicians are almost never racist and sexist, but leftists ALWAYS are?
You can set a watch by it. Every single time a leftist decides to run for office and do something meaningful and measurable for marginalized communities, that person will be "exposed" as racist and sexist.
Meanwhile the mainstream candidate that mouths meaningless platitudes for those same marginalized communities, will be portrayed as a defender of said people.

It's almost enough to make one think that the media is completely full of sh*t.

Speaking of leftists, the socialist government of Bolivia is rolling out universal health care.
Yet the United States "cannot afford it".

. . . between casual morons and this other level of stupidity? We can't do it with a superscript, because these folks never got comfortable with math or science past the second grade. It needs to be a word. I can't think of one that truly captures the full degree and compass (and frequently, the malicious twisting) of the stupidity, so maybe we need to do the Internet a favor by making one up, c99's special gift to the toobz. Suggestions encouraged. Get creative, folks.

...haven't they? I suppose we had to put this much distance on these events to begin to see the entire picture and understand what it is doing to our own lives. And, of course, none of this could be done without a Deep State.

Roles have changed since that first thrust. Now, China is the stand in for Germany. The US remains Brittian's colonial Golem. Russia is a changeling — the Cheshire Cat. Better historians than I could call those roles more accurately. As always, the Deep States and family lines are in full control, waiting patiently at the edges of their webs to strike.

That's my view, at least. It never seems to change much.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981

@Pluto's Republic
Actually, Pluto, it's been oft-stated that the Spanish-American War was "The First Media War." So, in many ways that matter, the Brits were taking copious notes with regard to what was playing out here in the U.S. (the Brits' "little study group" was formed in the early 1890's). It would then follow that it's not a stretch to say that WWI was "The Second Media War."

I think it's important to point out that there was a hell of A LOT going on in the 1890's:
--the U.S. was dealing with the massive Panic of 1893 (Depression), etc.
--Russian and other major eastern European cities were growing exceptionally quickly. As a result of that rampant growth, societal pressures were mounting; and, particularly in Russia, the Bolshevik Revolution started metastasizing around 1905.
--and, while the U.S. was beginning to wonder whether there was anything else to exploit in the lower 48, the U.S. economy's downfall, earlier in the decade (with harsh reminders of same still prevalent throughout U.S. society for six years), was an ongoing reminder that it was time to look elsewhere for new places to plunder; I find this a bit ironic, in that if the U.S.--with all of its land, and only a paltry 125+/- years of existence--was beginning to feel fenced in and aggressive, it doesn't even begin to describe the many decades of British lust for continuing global domination, while simultaneously sitting by, in 1898, seeing the U.S. plunder so much Spanish property both in the Pacific and the Atlantic, in a matter of months!

I find this PBS/CPB video, "CRUCIBLE OF EMPIRE" to be an important, obvious and necessary preface on any accurate, historical overview (and especially when discussing something created by Corbett, et al, regarding an event that occurred around 15 years later), of WWI:

[video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIkINlTPfP4]

The Spanish-American War is often referred to as the first "media war." During the 1890s, journalism that sensationalized—and sometimes even manufactured—dramatic events was a powerful force that helped propel the United States into war with Spain. Led by newspaper owners William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, journalism of the 1890s used melodrama, romance, and hyperbole to sell millions of newspapers--a style that became known as yellow journalism.

The term yellow journalism came from a popular New York World comic called "Hogan's Alley," which featured a yellow-dressed character named the "the yellow kid." Determined to compete with Pulitzer's World in every way, rival New York Journal owner William Randolph Hearst copied Pulitzer's sensationalist style and even hired "Hogan's Alley" artist R.F. Outcault away from the World. In response, Pulitzer commissioned another cartoonist to create a second yellow kid. Soon, the sensationalist press of the 1890s became a competition between the "yellow kids," and the journalistic style was coined "yellow journalism."

Yellow journals like the New York Journal and the New York World relied on sensationalist headlines to sell newspapers. William Randolph Hearst understood that a war with Cuba would not only sell his papers, but also move him into a position of national prominence. From Cuba, Hearst's star reporters wrote stories designed to tug at the heartstrings of Americans. Horrific tales described the situation in Cuba--female prisoners, executions, valiant rebels fighting, and starving women and children figured in many of the stories that filled the newspapers. But it was the sinking of the battleship Maine in Havana Harbor that gave Hearst his big story--war. After the sinking of the Maine, the Hearst newspapers, with no evidence, unequivocally blamed the Spanish, and soon U.S. public opinion demanded intervention.

Today, historians point to the Spanish-American War as the first press-driven war. Although it may be an exaggeration to claim that Hearst and the other yellow journalists started the war, it is fair to say that the press fueled the public's passion for war. Without sensational headlines and stories about Cuban affairs, the mood for Cuban intervention may have been very different. At the dawn of the twentieth century, the United States emerged as a world power, and the U.S. press proved its influence...

@bobswern that I was taught all about the Spanish-American War in school, yet it wasn't until I was an adult that I even realized that the US fought in the Phillipines for many years thereafter, to the great detriment of the people there.

That war has been largely erased from the collective memory. It did spawn the invention of the 1911 model Colt 45, a standard issue sidearm for years to come, but only because there were so many wogs to gun down.

Something that no one has commented on but strikes a strong chord with me is that II (Integrity Initiative) was not only recognized as a charity, but also worked with NATO. IMO, NATO is the enforcement arm for imperialism in the northern hemisphere and needs to be disbanded.

'Integrity Initiative' - New Documents From Shady NGO Released
January 04, 2019
The British Government runs an anti-Russian smear campaign through the pseudo non-government-organization Integrity Initiative. Some person, operating under the 'Anonymous' label, obtained internal papers of the Initiative and publishes those in several batches. Moon of Alabama was one of the first sites that analyzed the released papers.

Our last piece on the Initiative concluded:

After reading through all the released Initiative papers and lists one gets the impression of a secret military intelligence operation, disguised as a public NGO. Financed by millions of government money the Institute for Statecraft and the Integrity Initiative work under a charity label to create and disseminate disinformation to the global public and back into the government and military itself.

Today the Anonymous account released a new batch of some 50 internal Integrity Initiative documents at the Cyber Guerrilla website.

With the new release Anonymous lays out a timeline that connects the Skripal affair in Britain with the activities and personal of the Integrity Initiative. Our last piece had already drawn the Skripal connection to the Initiative, but some of the new documents add to the trail.

Alternate Current Radio Presents: Sunday Wire with Patrick Henningsen

This week the SUNDAY WIRE broadcasts LIVE with host Patrick Henningsen bringing you all the top stories from the US, Europe and internationally. This week we’re joined in-studio by UK Column editor Mike Robinson, for a critical look at an incredible breaking story of an Anonymous hack which reveals the existence of a secret British ‘anti-Russian counter-propaganda “influencing operation” ironically titled the “Integrity Initiative”. This government-sponsored trolling and disinformation network spans multiple countries and with a shadowy cadre that includes politicians, diplomats, mainstream ‘journalists’ and other highly paid deep state operatives. This is timed with dangerous pro-war rhetoric coming this week from the West, including increasingly hostile statements by the British leaders, and an open naval provocation by the Ukraine against Russia in the Kerch Strait that lies between Crimea and mainland Russia.

Dang, forgot where I read what some poster noted about the Integrity bullshit. But the poster noted how well funded and connected are the propaganda forces fighting and smearing the Left--and alot of it government(s) funded. Millions in this case. And the New Knowledge "experiment" in just AL which was funded to the tune of $100,000, which is 25X what the Russians spent on Google. The AL "experiment" relied on Hamilton 68 project whose funding looks to be easily hundreds of thousands of dollars given the people involved with the project.

every diary writer has this after their username: This content is not subject to review by Daily Kos staff This is because NK flagged a few of the diaries there as propaganda. Marcos contacted them and told them what the site was about and in order for NK to not flag the site they had to put up that disclaimer. Plus this one is at the bottom:

I haven't seen one diary there that talked about how New Knowledge infiltrated Roy Moore's campaign and tried to make it look like it was Russia that was doing it.

I will find Kos' diary that describes this if anyone is interested. I do read the site everyday and am just flabbergasted at what people there are believing about Russia Gate and all the tangents it has taken and the new ones being discovered every day. It's mind numbing to see a massive propaganda campaign's effect on people I thought I knew and respected. You will have to see for yourselves how far off the rails the site has fallen.

responsible for spreading the anti Putin/Russian propaganda in DKos is Mark Sumner - the Luke Harding of DKos.

He will use his previous diaries to back up new claims made in successive diaries until he has woven such a fantastical story that it has little to no relation to reality. He is such a master of "baffle them with bullshit" that one would need a front end loader to get to the bottom of his shitpile.

The fact that time has failed to prove the veracity of Sumner's reporting just shows the extent of the remaining Dkos'rs ability to allow truths that do not fit the narrative to fall into the memory hole. Otherwise their heads would surely explode with cognitive dissonance.

But maybe there is some hope for these people after all. Looks like they're no longer drinking the koolaid.

*Crimestop means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc, and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction. Yes! And the British Spy within the Bernie campaign proves it! The British would not have inserted a spy into the Bernie campaign if Bernie were not in bed with the Russians, so the British had to act and save U.S. democracy by sending in their operatives to thwart the Russian influence occurring among Bernie and his bros.

Simple and clear; all roads lead to Russia!
