Bolsonaro supporters attempting coup in Brazil

This just happened, so it's still playing out.
Hundreds of hardcore supporters of Brazil’s former president, Jair Bolsonaro, have stormed the country’s congress, presidential palace and supreme court in a stunning security breach that was immediately compared to the 6 January invasion of the US Capitol by followers of Donald Trump in 2021.“What we are witnessing is a terrorist attack,” the news anchor Erick Bang announced on the GloboNews television network as word of the upheaval spread. “The three buildings have been invaded by coup-mongering terrorists.”
Shocking video footage showed the pro-Bolsonaro militants sprinting up the ramp into the Palácio do Planalto, the presidential offices, roaming the building’s corridors and vandalising the nearby supreme court, whose windows had been smashed.
“They are throwing chairs out of the windows,” said another bewildered GloboNews commentator, Eliane Cantanhêde. “They are destroying public buildings.”
I'll see about updating this later.

Ain’t our CIA
just *great*? So very proud of our foot soldiers of chaos.
Not. What a complete fucking national embarrassment. If their security forces find any of our “advisers” involved as agents provocateurs, I hope that they are prosecuted to the absolute maximum extent of the local law.
And if it turns out that I’m completely wrong and this really is just a local insurrection (as if…), I’ll happily eat as much crow as necessary. However, I don’t think that Bolsonaro ever had anywhere near that level of grassroots support.
Twice bitten, permanently shy.
this is what happens when the neocons lose
tantrum with the help of foreign insurrectionists
fighting social reform with every dirty trick in their
tainted arsenal
why do these puppets invariably flee to Miami?
perhaps the US is slightly responsible
question everything
I haven't noticed whether the right wing terrorists a wearing
MBGA hats. (Make Brazil Great Again)
The next step will be the US recognizing an interim leader in
Brazil.
Juan Guaidó is looking for a new job. /S
Mass unemployment of cops
is hopefully the next option for Brazil.

It is still early yet but this is a start.

Best to start by going after the financiers. Those who broke windows, etc, will have to go back to work Monday. Of course, the financial/propaganda slice of the pie likely extends well beyond Brazil's borders.
Bolsonaro shows more class than Trump

To me this image looks staged but what do I know.
It looks too neat.
It is a start but there is much more required.

Riots, Like Jan 6th, not a coup
I've been in countries twice that had coups. They are very different than unarmed hardly violent riots.
Coups include at least a strong military participation. When you see lots of tanks and APCs driving around the capital city and they say there is a coup going on then I believe it. A country that still has an intact and loyal military and the government has not changed has not had a coup.
THISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHIS-THIS-
I mean, in the case of 1/6/2021 in D.C., I always thought it was telling as all blue hell how they reacted by surrounding the Capitol with 20,000 National Guardsmen on Inauguration Day - if there were really a danger of a coup, that'd be almost like, I don't know, being that GMO-cow from The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe who begs and cajoles diners to eat it.
Of course, the pop-culture reference that comes to mind first when I think of that is actually Larry The Cable Guy's Delta Farce (anyone else see that? It actually wasn't bad, and kind of sweet). This is the only circumstance I can think of where I would cite Larry The Cable Guy to make a point about pretty much anything, but I daresay he knows his people well enough to imagine that was probably a sufficiently-accurate portrayal of your typical National Guardsmen - and guess whom they'd have overwhelmingly voted for?
