Bernie takes on the Media's coddling of Donald Trump on the Issues

This epic-rant happened when Bernie was telling Rachel Maddow, 'what he really thinks' about the Corporate Media's kid-glove 1-dimension treatment of Donald Trump when it comes to his positions on the Issues.

This happened at Sanders' recent Townhall event on MSNBC, with Ms Maddow moderating.

MSNBC Town Hall: The BEST Line Was...

The Young Turks -- Link to video

[partial transcript, Bernie Sanders speaking: ]

You know you mentioned a moment ago Rachel, that the Media is paying attention to Donald Trump.

Duh! No kidding. Once again every stupid remark will be broadcast for the next 5 days.

What is Donald Trump's position on raising the Minimum Wage?

Well, he doesn't think so.

What is Donald Trump's position on Wages in America?

Well, he said in a Republican Debate, he thinks wages are too high.

What is Donald Trump's position on Taxes

Well, he wants to give Billionaire Families like himself, hundreds of billions of dollars in Tax Breaks.

What is Donald Trump's position on Climate Change?

Oh, he thinks it's a Hoax, perpetuated -- shock of all shock -- by the Chinese.

On and on, it goes.

Everyday he comes up with another stupid remark, absurd remark.

Of course it should be mentioned -- but so should Trump's overall position.

How much talk to we hear about Climate Change, Rachel? And Trump? Any?

He knows how to manipulate the Media, and you say an absurd thing and the Media is all over it.

And my concern is that today in America, you've got millions of people who are struggling economically.

They want know: How were going to expand the Middle Class.

Overwhelmingly, people think we should raise the Minimum Wage.

A vast majority think Climate Change is real and a threat to our Planet, and they want to do something about that. What do we do?

A vast majority think that the Wealthiest people in this country should start paying their fair share of Taxes.

But if we don't discuss those issues, it creates the climate for people like Donald Trump to do MUCH better than he really has a right to do.

Could this recent New York Times article on all the Free Media that has been given to Trump gratis, have anything to do with Senator Sanders impassioned answers? Could be.

Measuring Donald Trump’s Mammoth Advantage in Free Media

by Nicholas Confessore and Karen Yourish, The Upshot, nytimes.com — Mar 15, 2016

No wonder Sanders seems agitated pissed-off, with the very one-sided Media coddling (aka favoritism) like that — we all should be.

Bernie's face is so red in that picture - he's really angry and rightly so. Our bought and paid for MSM makes more money off the antics of Drumpf and everyone knows it. No one thought to stop him, though. No one thought it would go this far. No one stopped to think about how angry the PEOPLE are!
Bernie, because fuck this shit!

Loved Jimmy Dore's comment about deflecting the real danger of climate change over to the manufactured fear of ISIS. "When a beheading gets posted on the web, the media shits their pants. ISIS doesn't even have a plane!" He's right. Climate change threatens our existence. But if fear of ISIS can be whipped up, the MIC keeps making more money off of the unwarranted fear of a gang of criminals.

It was funny yesterday when Chris Matthews decided to test Donald Trump on his knowledge of standard right-wing talking points about abortion. Trump's problem is he is actually a pro-choice guy and he didn't study for this test.

Tierney Sneed on TPM:

For months, the major concern the anti-abortion movement had with Donald Trump was that he was too wobbly on the issue. But on Wednesday, Trump staked out an abortion position so extreme that he blew up years of abortion foes’ careful messaging.

Trump’s remark at an MSNBC town hall that an abortion ban should carry a punishment for women who seek out the procedure sent anti-abortion activists immediately scrambling to correct the damage.

Good News, Donald Trump! Women Are Already Punished for Seeking Abortions

“You'll go back to a position like they had where people will, perhaps, go to illegal places,” Trump predicted of the bright tomorrow in which women seek, obtain, and get punished for illegal abortions. We haven’t re-great-ified America to the point of coat-hanger abortions just yet, but Trump will be glad to hear that women seeking abortions are already punished here in the United States of America...

This is the joke about Donald Trump -- the evil, cruel, vile, horrible, terrible, no-good things Donald Trump advocates are things which are actually happening right now, and the nice liberals ignore them because Barack Obama is President and everything is okay.

Another take worth noting: The terrifying truth behind Donald Trump's abortion comments

Apparently Trump wasn’t aware of the fantastical but common Republican refrain that while abortion should be illegal, women themselves shouldn’t be punished - a diplomatic but wholly dishonest response in a country where women have already been jailed for ending their pregnancies. Trump also acknowledged that if abortion were banned, women would seek out the procedure in “illegal places,” once again stepping in the anti-choice party line that insists pre-Roe back alley abortions are a myth.

That’s why Trump’s comments not only angered pro-choice activists, but those on the right who have spent an awful lot of time trying to convince Americans that overturning Roe v Wade isn’t anti-woman.

I wouldn't have thought that would be possible. Then, one day, with less than a minute left of her show, she dissed Bernie and made a face I couldn't believe. It was disgust. After that she was a bit more open about fucking with him. But the way she does it is wrong. And the times she does it leaves whatever hateful thing she says hanging in the air.

She broke my heart. I expected her to be fair.
