I can almost here the waves, crashing. I would really like to spend some time exploring New Zealand. My brother was there a few years ago and loved it.
I have been given to believe that one can actually do a walk about and the locals will actually have conversations with strangers from a far off land. This is but a rumor of course, but I can hope, I suppose.
that the rumours are true, and any NZers you meet would engage and appreciate a conversation with you. NZers, being so far removed geographically are especially curious. They’re also generally well travelled. That special quality was what was most obvious to me when I first arrived. Piha is only a 45 minute drive from downtown Auckland, so you can imagine the rest.

if my mother would still be alive she would say, don't forget at one point you get a 'kalts arschl' and get up, to which I would say, as long as my 'arschl doesn't freeze' I enjoy sitting there.
(for those who don't know what an arschl is, ask a Bavarian and he will tell you)

It’s a real pleasure for me to share my environs, and see all of yours here. Like mimi said, “I also love this blog. It has excellent reporting and humanity.” I think it's quite unique.
Indeed an alternative antidote! Beautiful! Thank you!
