Album of the Week 7-22-23
Afternoon folks!
Lots of great stuff this week! Starting off with some blues/string band music from Martin, Bogan & Armstrong, we progress to some straight blues with Leon Thomas. After that, it's off to blues-rock land with albums from Elvin Bishop, Johnny Winter, Leslie West (from the band Mountain) and Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna, Jefferson Airplane). We've got some soul from Tower of Power, the first ever rock opera from The Pretty Things and we finish off with some prog rock from Godley & Creme.
Well, there you go. I hope you all are having a great weekend. Enjoy!
Here 'tis:
Martin, Bogan & Armstrong - The Barnyard Dance
The Leon Thomas Blues Band - The Leon Thomas Blues Band
Johnny Winter - The Progressive Blues Experiment
Leslie West - The Great Fatsby
Jorma Kaukonen & Vital Parts - Barbeque King
Tower of Power - Back To Oakland
The Pretty Things - S. F. Sorrow

awesome tunes Joe!
Hey Joe!~
Great stuff man! Johnny Winter and Leslie West were both very big in guitar player or lover circles in my socal beach-city circles. So was Jorma, but this album just did not seem to fly with fans for him. I really liked it myself, I thought it was great Jorma. Was not a fan fave, or RCA it seems... Some of the Elvin Bishop is what I saw him tour a couple times right when this was out. He was great too.
Thanks for the great soundscapes Joe!
