Submitted by joe shikspack on Sat, 11/18/2023 - 3:00pm
Afternoon folks!
This week we've got Albert Collins live and an album from Chicago bluesman John Littlejohn. After that, in the blues-rock category there are albums from George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Johnny Winter and Dave Edmunds. Then there's an EP from The Pretty Things from their psychedelic period and a somewhat recent double album to finish us off from Richard Thompson.
Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Here 'tis:
Albert Collins & The Icebreakers - Live In Japan
John Littlejohn - John Littlejohn's Chicago Blues Stars
George Thorogood & The Destroyers - Better Than The Rest
The Pretty Things - Defecting Grey (EP)

Great soundscape Joe!
Hey Joe!
Man that is some wild Pretty Things sounds. Amazing. Very cool stuff. They barely barely got any airplay in LA. Middle of the night kind of stuff, by one or two DJ's. At least Dick Taylor went on and had some success after the earliest stones bits.
Thanks for the soundscape!
We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

afternoon dystopian...
the pretty things didn't get much airplay here either, they were an underground, word-of-mouth thing here. i heard about them after the who's tommy came out and somebody told me that tommy wasn't the first rock opera, the pretty things' sf sorrow was. i had to order it, but i finally got my hands on it.
have a good one!
