It Is Truly Farcical

Looking around online the newspapers and Democratic Party blogs across the internet.

Trump is everywhere, the hours and column inches dedicated to him are simply astounding.

Hillary gets some mention when entangled in yet another mess of her own making.

Yet where it all falls down is that they fail to convince anyone to change their mind, there is nothing of substance to grab hold of and say yes that's worth fighting for. That was the whole driving force behind Bernie's success in this election cycle, fighting hard for issues that affect us all. However what we appear to be getting is, yes, but you have to deal with the reality.

The hardest thing to find on the internet is a positive article even from the most loyal partisan highlighting what she will do for the country [not herself] without it just sinking into attacks on Bernie and more and more frequently, attacks on Trump. We have for the first time the possibility of a woman as President and that is something to cheer about in itself. However there is nothing of substance offered to indicate that this will change the status quo one iota, and the status quo is the major part of the problem. There are no dreams or hopes on offer, just more of the same, now that is one hard sell, blandness.

You might say that after Obama that nobody will fall for that crap again, yet Bernie and yes even Trump have found a way. You can snidely call it mere populism, but the fact of the matter is it is harder to beat than a document written by a committee of lawyers and read by a candidate not convinced by any of the arguments put forward.

What we have is a faeces flinging contest in the monkey house once again, rather than a vision of what we can become, it was the hope I had [and still have a little] if Bernie became the nominee, that there would be something worth fighting for rather than merely against. Even the attacks by democrats on Bernie have not been of substance, but of mere poo flinging, it makes a mockery of us all. I for one am beyond recall to the faithful because all they offer is hot air and am willing to fight them all the way. There are plenty of issues worth fighting for Hillary to pick a couple, but sadly even then, you'll have to mean what you say, and therein lies the conundrum. Issues go beyond the individual and Democrats need to get back to that way of thinking.

I knew in my heart that this election season would once again be depressing [yet still hope] I just didn't dream it would descend into a puerile farce. The one glimmer of hope is that enough people instead of sitting on the sidelines, decide enough is enough and fight back against this mockery of our own intelligence.

Just a rambling thought

They are beginning to do their jobs. It seems as though that report opened their eyes. And they cannot fully comprehend what they are now seeing. But, it seems that they are trying. When criminal charges against the anointed one seem likely vs. "never will happen," that causes every news room to start pulling out their hair. Then, overcompensate. Then, find blame in other media arms for causing the mess. Then, state they are redoing their Journo team, and promise to do bitter. Better. Butter. Batter. Some b word.

Clinton after an indictment. For no reason, no how. Indict the Abuela. Make her go to trial. If that's the only way the nation can rid itself of the Clintons, then so be it. I don't want them to go away mad, I just want them to go away.

They have their ill-gotten gains to live off of. They're not dead broke anymore. Let war criminal Henry Fucking Kissinger comfort them the way he comforted Nixon. Milhouse, at least, had the decency to keep a low profile after he left the WH.

If, by some chance, he tried it he would fall into the same pit she is in. No chance of any kind of favorable legacy. Also, if by some chance she actually beat Trump she would be impeached within her first 100 days.

So the Bushes and the Clintons, pretty much. And Obama.

Reagan was always a figurehead, so I don't bother counting him--the power at that point was with Bush, Don Regan, and others in that Administration.

That's why this is even an issue that is making any papers or TV news shows.
She pissed in their Wheaties, and now they want their rich friends on Wall St and elsewhere to get behind a corrupt mouthpiece who WON'T "compromise counter-terrorism operations."

Yes, I believe that the security state can bring pressure on President Obama. Yes, I believe that his initial instinct would be to protect the status quo, even in the person of someone he obviously dislikes, and against whom he has a grudge. No, I don't think he'd shed any tears if the security state pressure put him in a position where he had to cut her loose. Actually, I expect on a personal level, he'd probably enjoy it.

The only question is whether said security state pressure is enough to indict her. But for the purposes of the people pushing for this, she probably doesn't need to be indicted--she just needs to end her campaign and get the hell out of their business. Take her blood money and retire. Then someone less arrogant and reckless, but equally corrupt (like Joe Biden) can be put into her place.

This isn't the moment the press decides to do their job again.

This isn;t the moment eyes opened and enlightenment and understanding dawned.

They're, at best, grudgingly reporting on this now because they have to be able to claim they have some credibility. See look, they covered it.

These outlets do not have, nor are they returning to the 'noble purpose' of informing the viewer. Their corporate masters have a bottom line and the situation demands they seem somewhat like they are willing to report the events going on instead of completely ignoring them, so the hapless viewers will continue to tune in and watch the important stuff.

They think they've put Bernie Sanders away, so open season on Hillary may be about to commence. Probably after the CA primary. The endless free press Donald Trump has received will likely not slow down, and as long as he's covered like some sideshow geek biting off chicken heads voters will continue to treat him like a reality show clown. Hillary, OTOH, attracts scandal like a magnet, mainly because she and her husband are so corrupt, secretive and arrogant. It will be hard for her to campaign as a better and more serious person than Trump while fighting endless corruption and national security scandals.

Clintonites who are so proud of all Hillary's experience tend to forget that experience leaves a record. That may prove her undoing.

Chin up, old girl. Bernie is the candidate I've been waiting decades for. I wanted Bernie to preach the word about who is responsible for what to the entire country, and he is actively doing that. And I am grateful.

Socialists tend to live longer than their jeering neighbors. They are characterized by strong but tolerant men and feisty women, who just won't give up.

Bernie's brand of socialism is milder than mine, but that's okay. His philosophy seems to be based on the notion that we are our brother's keepers, and that's just fine with me.

I'm old and stubborn. My family affectionately calls me a curmudgeon. And I say eff you to anyone who tells me to quit struggling. Yes, it's been a long, hard road. And it feels like we traveled the entire way on foot, so to speak. But I'm in it as long as Bernie is and I'm looking forward to what comes next.

Stay with us, Honey. At the very least, we'll piss off a bunch of assholes.

Don't see far enough into the future to see Clinton will be horrible for the party. Even if she isn't indicted by Obama's DoJ, Comey will have all the dirt on her still available for Republicans to use as they see fit. Even if she wins she'll be swamped with legal action until they can finally impeach her. She'll have no coattails, and bring in no new voters. The nation will just be disgusted as the corruption of the Democratic party becomes more and more evident. Far better to take a chance on Bernie, who everyone agrees is honest even if they disagree with his policies.

I believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute ..., where no church or church school is granted any public funds or political preference. — President John F. Kennedy, Houston, TX, 12 September 1960

The traditional slogan of the Democratic party campaigns is going to be a tougher sell this year than usual, even with Donald Trump to run against. Hillary Clinton excites a minority of the Democratic base, which is less than a third of the electorate. She stands for nothing other than her own sense of entitlement and the power of a second X chromosome. She promises nothing -- nothing anyone with three brain cells to rub together will believe. She is already almost as widely disliked as Trump, and exactly as distrusted. And she's got plenty of downside with the electorate from here. The new scandals about emails and pay-to-play around the Clinton Foundation will be the meat and drink of the next 5 1/2 months of the news.

I suspect that if she squeaks out a win against the most disliked and dishonest candidate in history, she will limp across the finish line so bloodied she will have negative coattails and less political capital than Newt Gingrich presently enjoys. Can she campaign in such a way that she improves over time in the polls? She never has managed it thus far. Even against Trump it will be an open question whether she can manage it.

Back in January I wrote a tough story about Clintonian corruption at TOP called "Enough," and reprinted it here when I joined. One observation sticks out, and may be pertinent to this diary:

The most important lesson the 2016 campaign teaches so far is that people are fed up with the status quo, and are no longer willing to listen to the establishment’s opinion shapers telling them the way things are supposed to be. They are increasingly believing their lying eyes. Republican voters are growing tired of the slave auction acquisitions leading them around by the nose. Democratic voters are less worldly wise, so far. But the plurality of voters, who choose to associate with neither party and are sick to death of the show, they are in large part more aware than either. People in general are increasingly unwilling to accept the arguments for the status quo, the preemptive capitulation to the power of money, the reality of oligarchy.

And then the candidate that is under investigation by the FBI and has a history of making deals that the other party has spent so much time investigating them.

And I agree, what are the two of them running on? Trump changes his mind from one speech to the next one.
And anything that Hillary says, well raise your hands, do you believe anything she says that she is going to do?
Fight for the middle class vs. fight for the banks and corporations that have financed her career and lifestyle.

We finally has a candidate that represents what the democrats used to stand for and people are going to vote for the status quo and liar.

Here's the way I feel it. Hillary cannot wish away, or explain away, the whole SOS email mess. And that is with only the tip of the iceberg poking up through the sleep of the MSM.Things will only get worse from here on out (wherever out is). We all know there's serious shit in there - shit that I do think will take her down, were it to come out, which it still may with the Rs on her tail.
I feel /think that the actual smart folks within the dem party know this very well, and are working right now to get her out of the race probably with a full pardon. Again, she is too deeply cornered to get away now. Are they going to up end Bernie ? Don't know...BUT, I feel there's a good chance that they won't. They know He'll keep on in the Senate anyway. They've watched his campaign , just like we have, and they know he's tapped into something DEEP in the American psyche. His brand of politics really doesn't hurt anyone, even Fat Cats., and it helps millions of people get back on their feet, it gets infrastructure rebuilt, banking rebuilt, etc. I think they are also looking at the YUUUGE meltdown a comin' and here again, Bernie has the answers and the mojo for that looming catastrophe. Call me naive, and we'll know soon enough, but I feel something roughly like that is happening behind the scenes. I think the smart people in both parties are looking at this. One weak, wounded dem candidate V a buffoon from hell R, both with huge unfavorables. They know full well that Bernie can actually unify and peacefully energize the voters. To me, this is one mind blowing election year. I never thought Bernie's campaign would have received the traction it did. Then, to see the visceral reaction to it by the Democratic party was just too much to take. Instead of embracing a turn toward the roots of what made the party so great in the first place, they rejected it like hissing hyenas. All along attacking Bernie and his supporters personally, and purposely avoiding the issues. The Democratic party's moves this year have shown me just how fucking corrupt our government is. Now, I have to think: support the corrupt system or let it go down. The trouble is, I have many good friends that will be targeted by the Mule. This is the most horrid election ever. Just waiting for the mud slinging that will take place between David Brock and the Donald. Holy fuck is it going to be ugly. This is America, where we just don't have a sane fucking choice. $Hillary is not the least bit like Bernie in her proposals....

She HAS, however, plagiarized Bernie's speeches enough that between her initial announcement of her candidacy with Wall Street buildings in the background and the DNC Summer Meeting in Minneapolis in Aug 2015 that HRC, DWS, some of the dais speakers all echoed Bernie's speeches from the spring/summer and sounded very much like Bernie!!! No one who had not listened to Bernie's speeches from the first to then would have picked up on that, and since Bernie spoke last (alphabetical order), I'm sure some thought he was imitating him, but those of us who by then practically had his stump speech memorized knew they had all plagiarized Bernie's stump speech.

Every line that Bernie says that gains him applause and cheers are lines that $Hillary has adopted to try to steal votes away from Bernie, and DWS quotes HRC who quotes Bernie without giving him credit. Listen to her first speech (it's on YouTube, I suppose), and you'll find it's very different from her current stump speeches.

We all know that if HRC were elected, she would revert back to her warmongering DINO self by the day after election day. The change would be so sudden we'd all suffer whiplash. Congressional members would stampede to microphones and cameras and announce further gridlock, investigations into her home server (which Bill had/has access to and could use for Clinton Foundation pay to play activities), and those of us who are old would start banging our heads against walls because we know before the fact that if she were elected there would be either threats or actual impeachment proceedings over that as well as Benghazi, etc.

We really do not have time for that nonsense. We have to get busy on climate change, alternative energy, and all the looooooong list of things that have been ignored for the last 25 years in favor of scandals, the first Clinton impeachment, illegal and unconstitutional wars & torture by the Bushistas (and certain Dems knew about that horror from the beginning), followed by Obama following in Dumbya & Dickie's footsteps (I notice no one has called for war crimes trials for any of their war crimes).

We can't go through all of that again without this country falling completely apart..., but lord love a duck, Moronic Media would be kept entertained and make money from yet another fucking Clinton scandal, Congress would still get nothing done, and the knowledge that our species will go extinct because no one is stopping the pollution will become a very real threat.

Enough is enough already!

Too many people have said $Hillary's positions are "just like Bernie's," and that is just simply not true - or, that difference was not true from $Hillary's first speech in that NYC park with Wall Street in the background. That speech is very different from later speeches where so many of her phrases are straight out of Bernie's stump speech, and usually the lines that garner the most applause and cheers from Bernie's supporters in the audience. $Hillary is great at plagiarizing.
