Bernie Hates Dems!
Oh the wisdom I that have gleaned from the so called liberal blogs recently.
Scorched earth! He keeps this up and Hillary loses!
Ye gods, it's almost as if they had a popular and trusted candidate.
You must not talk about her negatives! You'll ruin the party!
I can almost feel the spittle wash over me as they type!
But, but you just hate Dems! Sexist! Misogynist!
She only did what Colin Powell did with his emails!
Yep, a Republican from one of the most despised administrations of all time! He did it, move along!
Yep, she only did what the man who lied to the world did!
Mention Citizens United and they will do back flips in trying to justify why they must do the same, we will lose otherwise!
We will incrementally deal with it! You just hate Dems!
Mention evolution and they go all intelligent design.
She doesn't have to show you what she got paid to do! It's private!
Anyway it doesn't have any influence upon her no matter how many millions they transferred to her account!
It's going to down ballot Dems anyway! Don't you dare point out the facts! You just hate dems!
Debate on Fox! OMG, OMG you really do hate Dems!
Don't you dare even mention foreign policy, what once was, now is not!
Bernie Hates Dems!
And so do you!
Hater!
As I said the wisdom that I have picked up with the shit shovel.

Don't ask don't tell - shut yer mouth
How do they reconcile DADT? How do they get away with telling us to stfu and fall in line with Madame Rodham and yet we're the haters?
I hadn't been there but maybe two or three times since March. Mostly to try and T&R but I gave up after seeing them attack people like OPOL.
I ventured in last night and saw some of the attacks in Aspies GBCW diary. The attacks were as frothy as Santorum sweater vest.

I find...
Insulting someone and calling them names while belittling them always yields positive results, don't you? And in the case of Hilary - it also will raise her likeability.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
It's the only thing they have got, shame really becuase their
candidate aint that good.
As somebody wrote on this site earlier...
Shame only works when it comes from someone you respect. I don't respect Hilary and by extension I have lost respect for all those who shill for her.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
Well, based on their actions, Bernie ain't alone on that one...
because I am rapidly starting to hate "Democrats" too. (Well, the moderate republicans that fled to the party and now claim to be "Liberal" democrats.
They are just fiscal conservatives that are just a tad bit better on social issues than the current Republicans...
It's getting harder and harder to find real progressives in the Democratic party anymore. That must be why independent and green registrations are growing as the Democratic Party shrinks. I guess I am a little slow as usual, I came to the Democratic party because I realized I was a progressive, only to later realize that most of the progressives had left just as I was arriving...

This is what happens...
…when Democrats turn into the Republicans of several decades ago.
We have a far right party, and we have a center right party.
The Third Way just shows us that Democrats and Republicans have far fewer differences than most people would be comfortable admitting. The two party system is an obvious sham so that the single party political class can continue to serve the oligarchs with autonomy.
Those poor poor oligarchs. The commoners make their lives so hard.
one-two party
There have to be two parties in order to maintain the very successful divide and conquer strategy currently employed by the political oligarchy. When body parts and bathrooms are the main obfuscation/abstraction from the real criminals in DC, and the main reason many support One like HRC, rather than her policies, and integrity, we are in deep do-do
And hippy punching...
Is a two-party sport.
Democrats, we tried to warn you. How is that guilt and shame working out?
I came of age just as Clintonism took over
My first election was 1992...
" In the beginning, the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry, and is generally considered to have been a bad move. -- Douglas Adams, The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy "
Yep and it was pretty toxic then if you said anything
my first year voting was 1996
I voted for Lenora Fulani that year
And for Ralph Nader in 1996. Never regretted either vote. Not that it mattered, as both times I voted in safely blue states. (I did vote for Al Gore in 2000.) And then I got excited about Obama in 2008 and even switched back to Democratic to vote for him . . . until he appointed Geithner and Summers and I realized I had just voted for the Goldman Sachs presidency. Arrrgh!
Well, at least the billionaires got bailed out. Again.

(B) Clinton
Rachel Maddow has voiced a similar opinion, but Jim Hightower said it first in 1996 (at least that's the earliest use I've found): "Bill Clinton is the best republican president we've had since Eisenhower. Some people say we need a third party; I say we need a second one."
Now I don't for a minute think that there is no difference in the parties, Hightower said this before the GOP went completely off the rails, but for me the Clintons are what the republicans used to be, and I had no use for them then.
Me too. Literally “came too late to the party.” n/t
We still have those?
I thought it was "Republican-Lite". All of the flavor of Republicans, but half the guilt.
I see they have responded to the complaints of bad taste by adding in MORE Guilt.

sssh, they haven't noticed yet, many will be ever so broken

First, I was offended and angry. Now I feel contempt for these morons.
I hadn't noticed that, yet.
I hadn't noticed that, yet. But it will come, if we all have the misfortune of her Presidency.
As for Powell
I believe he was basically a carrier. IOW, I bet he was lied to, and sent out to carry the lie to others.
I base that on the fact that he eerily disappeared from view for years during Bush admin, almost as if they didn't trust him to say the right things in public. Suddenly, all we ever heard from--or saw--was Wolfowitz. One of the creepier things that happened during Bush Admin. Up there w/Pelosi's 180-degree turn on Iraq War.

Plus he didn't use his private account anywhere near the level
Clinton seems to have done, however that is the excuse and Colin Powell knew what he was doing and for that I have zero respect for him.
Big difference between an email address and a secret server
...and they knew about his personal account and accommodated it and made sure it was safe.
'What we are left with is an agency mandated to ensure transparency and disclosure that is actually working to keep the public in the dark' - Ann M. Ravel, former FEC member

Oh, I think Powell knew the truth
You could tell he was uncomfortable with that speech he gave.
Which means at heart he is probably not generally a dishonest person, since lying made him uncomfortable.
Unlike Cheney, who seems to delight in lying to the peons.
That's certainly possible--
but in that case, I wonder what the years-long disappearance of the Secretary of State was all about!
"More for Gore or the son of a drug lord--None of the above, fuck it, cut the cord."
--Zack de la Rocha
"I tell you I'll have nothing to do with the place...The roof of that hall is made of bones."
-- Fiver
I felt like he sort of removed himself from view
after that debacle, as well as maybe they wished to keep him out of the public eye to keep him quiet.
I don't know.
But I just remember watching him speak and thinking, he's lying and he doesn't like it.
Of course, there's always the possibility that I am simply wrong. As crazy as that sounds!
I read somewhere and not only one time either
in the many books I've read that Cheney actually told Powell that he had enough "political capital" to take a few "hits" on that whole Iraq war thing... Powell knew, and he went along for God only knows what reasons - maybe he really thought it was necessary to invade Iraq and I'm sure he too was fed lots of shitty intel that said Saddam had those WMDs, but he went along and lied us into not only a war, but a now protracted and endless one. He should keep his head low, and at least he actually has and isn't out there telling America we need another one.
I think your intuition there is spot on. I think the man regrets it, but that really doesn't do us much damned good.
Only a fool lets someone else tell him who his enemy is. Assata Shakur
Powell was a republican that I actually respected
until he made that speech. If he didn't know then he should have known, he should have done his research. And if he did know and was passing on something he knew to be a lie, then that is unforgivable.
and now he has that on his conscious as the horrible results of the Iraq invasion go on and on and on....
And same with Hillary. That vote and the harm which has followed is enuf reason right there for me to NEVER give her my vote.

I looked you up LaFeminista - 2K diaries, 46K comments!
You set the record of a person who left dailykos
Kos has taken us for granted
Like the democratic faction
Now that a poll has come out with Bernie & Hillary tied in CA, the chances that Bernie could actually be the candidate are going up
The establishment, and the establishment supporters like Kos, are fighting to save what is left
Their arguments are so stupid, so repetitive, and as more Hillary diaries make the REC list on DK, and more diaries "Kos is full of shit" make it to the Rec list, the site will turn into TPM
There are many like me who only go there for BNR and a little more
If Bernie wins & Kos keeps up the crap the site could go down quickly
GRRRRR.... she didn't do what Powell did for the millionth time
I'm not accusing YOU, LaFeminista, of saying this - but it really makes me ridiculously angry that people are conflating what Powell did (and did when current rules were not in place yet) with what Hillary did. It is willful ignorance on their parts, but then again, their entire support of Hillary is comprised mostly of willful ignorance, so why am I surprised?
Yes, they both did things that contain the words "personal" and "email" - but they are not the same thing at all.
Essentially, its the equivalent of writing a report, and instead of filing it in a government library, Powell filed it in a public library - in both cases it is put on record somewhere where he would be unable to personally delete or modify the data.
Hillary filed her report in her own basement - no record of it, no official access, no copies filed to the outside world.
It is NOT the same thing.
A personal email account through a corporate provider's server IS NOT the same as having the data only on a server in your basement. It is levels of magnitude above it, and was also done years later after more stringent requirements were enacted by State. Will everyone please understand this for the sake of my sanity?
It is killing me that they are trying to say the two things are the same thing. Not to mention, back when Powell did it, you could not email outside of the department on the government email. That was not the case when Hilary was in office.
OH I agree, I was just mocking the stock reply
I figured so but too many people don't understand the difference
and they need to - because it matters.
They're being deliberately obtuse
We have a letter spouting similar obtuseness in our local rag today (Star Tribune, MN).
Fortunately, the paper has a scathing editorial about Clinton's unapproved, personal, private, basement server.

But Powell did it has always been the deflection of first choice
The Clinton camp has been using that for months....
Nothing to see here and anyway Colin Powell did it toooooooo
It's BS and it's dangerous to dismiss things like this
It sets up a situation where we the people are asked to turn a blind eye to whatever the political class does...as long as the guilty party has the right Letter after their names. No matter what it is
and anyway.... The man who lied to us and the world about WMD in Iraq (Powell) did it too so it's all good.

This difference cannot be stressed ENOUGH:
Yes, Yes, Yes!!!
It's the difference between having an email account via public (free) and/or private ISP accounts where the ISP owns the servers..........., and owning one's own private server in one's own basement.
An email ACCOUNT and a email SERVER are two entirely different concepts, and the way $Hillary and her endorsers use the terms so loosely, it "sounds like" the difference between having a Yahoo or Gmail account..., and they don't explain the concept of having an email server in one's own home, so, of course it loosely "sounds like" $Hillary had the same thing Powell and others have had through a public email ACCOUNT. According to $Hillary supporters, the home SERVER is just a minor detail to be ignored. They want their sheeple to be zeroed in on the term "private email ACCOUNTs" to keep the sheeple permanently confused, never understanding what a private email SERVER is so they'll be conned into still voting for $Hillary, thereby excusing her illegal, unethical, behavior.

and a repub who lied us into a moster debacle
of death and destruction, at that.
Hmm. Sort of like a Kissinger type of guy.
Had respect for Powell till he did that, simultaneously destroying his career and the very doctrine that bore his name, along with hundreds of thousands of dead Iraquis, more displaced, the looting of museums containing the earliest records of human civilization, thousands of US soldiers, enabling religious fanatics in Iran and the whole region, and costing us trillions.
Hmmmm. Not that dissimilar to Hillary, actually . . . .

I emailed NPR, riverlover.
I don't know if you are aware of my interaction with them over the "throwing of chairs" fest at Nevada, but I implored them to set the record straight. Today, I sent them the following email (keep in mind, I'm in communication with a "Justin" over there):
Thank you for your responses, Justin. I do appreciate you attending to my concerns. My last concern will have to do with this whole email server issue of hrc's. Please correct your reporters from saying that Colin Powell did it too. He did not have a private server in his home, so no, he did not do what hrc did. You have to get it straight or it is just perpetuating more falsehoods. I can't say it enough that it is imperative for your reporters to do independent research on these issues.
Enjoy your day!
Kind regards,
Raggedy Ann
I think it is important to call them out on any lies they perpetuate so they know the public is listening and understanding what the real issues are.

I'm sticking with OPB/PBS but only because I support the local stuff they do. But I will let them know loud and clear I am not with NPR. I haven't liked them or listened to them since they did a rebuttal of Howard Zinn's obituary.

They are spinning in that link.
Their ombudsperson is still spinning in his response. When I mentioned to them, on May 18th that they didn't bother to fact check their story before they went on air, they responded to me on May 23rd that the AP said it too! They sound like hrc saying Colin Powell used private email, too, like it's the same thing and okay. I told them I don't care what the AP did, I contacted THEM! Like a wrinkle resistant shirt that doesn't want to wrinkle but still does, they are trying to take responsibility for their reporting by almost taking responsibility.

Yes, it was a pretty weak retraction, no doubt
But I appreciate that it was at least addressed that there was no PROOF of any violence.
I sadly lost my respect for NPR a while ago, even prior to this primary, although it has put the nail in the coffin, for sure. And its far more painful, to me, than losing DK. I was a daily listener, and I so appreciated their balanced and in-depth reporting, back when they did that kind of thing.
Sad times.

Truth be told
I hate a good many Dems and have respect for few. I've never felt so queasy about registering as I did when I switched to caucus for Bernie.
Hate is a strong word, but my dislike for dems who voted for her
is quite palpable. I consider them deluded at best, and really think they're terrible for having cast the votes they did. They're complicit in their own destruction if that's what happens.
Now, the Democratic Party? That I hate. I would love to see it Berned down entirely. Its only purpose is to play a part in the kabuki while the puppeteers screw us more. Fuck 'em.
When you think about "supporting a candidate" --

I do not consider Daily Kos a liberal blog
Not anymore. If you want to have your views mocked by the Center Right, by all means, go over there. I do from time to time, just to self-flagellate myself. But David Brock poisoned the water right after the Wisconsin primary. And Kos swallowed his lines hook, line, sinker, rod, reel, sixpack, redneck, and pickup truck. (Makes me so mad I want to throw a chair--but I'll settle for lifting it.)
I do agree with Robert Reich's advice: go ahead and support Hillary after the convention (assuming a miracle doesn't happen), but immediately work on a Bernie-oriented progressive party for the midterms and beyond. Time to break the stranglehold of the Corporatist and Leviticus Freak two-party system.
interesting how different outlets report the email thing

"Hillary Clinton Seeks Momentum in California Race" - The Wall Street Journal

That last one is particularly annoying because it confirms she stands for nothing.
I cannot support Hillary come what may
and she might not get that free pass to the nomination given the IOG report and the ensuing fallout.
