Bernie's Vicious New Attack Ads Against Hillary!
I am stunned at the venom he displays towards her in the euphemistically termed "Be the Change You want to See" ad Bernie is now running in California. It's tone is just dripping with aggression, condescension and contempt for Hillary and all she has stood for in her remarkable public career as a public servant. Take a look:

Did you see all the radical lefty anti-Clinton dogwhistles in that ad? He voted against DOMA. Well la-di-da! He stood up to "Don't ask, Don't tell," as if that were a good thing to go against the policy of a Democratic President of the United States. But then he never was a real Democrat, was he?
And his "Real change never, ever takes place from the top on down, it always takes place from the bottom up." Puhleeze. How anti-Hillary can you get? That's a direct attack on her campaign slogan "I'm with Her." What else could it be but a sexist assault on Hillary breaking the glass ceiling on the white male patriarchy's hold on political power? Power coming from the bottom up? What a commie inspired load of tripe
As if we don't need her now, more than ever, to do whatever needs to be done at 3 AM in the morning to keep us safe? From getting Ghaddafi to preserving American interests in Honduras, she's the one who will protect us best from the terrorists and other bad things that go bump in the night.

You have the power to choose a new direction for the Democratic Party? Really? You want to go there? What else is that but a direct attack on Hillary and the hardworking people at the DNC? And what is it with all the talk of a corrupt political finance system that keeps a rigged economy in place? Who is corrupt? I think we all know what slimy innuendo he's trying to spread here and against whom. And what is it with all the attacks on Wall Street. Wall Street, Wall Street, Wall Street! As if they're the bad guys or something.
It's just more of the same mudslinging he's been using to besmirch her character and integrity with thinly veiled attacks employing unwarranted insinuations to suggest she's not her own woman. She is beholden to no lobbyist or corporate interest, no matter how much money they raised for her or how much they may have paid her for a speech, as she makes clear in this video from the debate in New Hampshire:

After listening to her proud defense of her character, it just brings a tear to my eye. Bad Sanders, evil Sanders, and his little nasty Bernie Bro supporters, too, with all their sexism, chair throwing and threats of violence. Enough is enough with all the attempts to take down Hillary by any means necessary! When will someone rid our presumptive nominee of this meddlesome gadfly? And after Secretary Clinton has run such a clean, honest, stick to the issues campaign, too.
I mean really, who gave these jerkwads the idea they have the right not vote for her? They need to get with the program and pledge their votes to Hillary, or else. Or else what, you ask?
I don't know? Anything! More American involvement in the Middle East wars for one. Her best friend and husband extraordinaire, Bill Clinton won't be put back in charge of re-vitalizing the American economy after eight long years of that Obama guy. Trump, as unlikely as it seems, might somehow defeat the most vetted candidate in American history, so vetted she doesn't even need vetting!
All I know is that if Bernie and his free-loading gang of misfits doesn't do what needs to be done, and Hillary doesn't win in November (which of course she will, but just in case she doesn't ...), well, we will all know who to blame for that political nightmare, now don't we?

According to this, his donors are at about 5% of allowable contributions, but hers are at 47%.

He bottomed out on cash because of Ads
While Bernie ended up bringing in more money in April than HRC (again--it was close though) he also bottomed out in terms of cash on hand, to the tune of about $6M in the bank compared to something like 5x for Hillary, at the end of April.
I did note that there was a dry spell in the email storm/facebook ad storm for money, was concerned about that.
However, given how much he raised in April, and given the fact that his CA campaign manager left because Bernie wanted to bet heavily on TV ads vs ground campaign, my guess is all that money went to buying ads.
To get the best spots, you have to buy early. Weeks or months in advance. So April would have been when he was pouring money into campaign ads.
So yes, he bottomed out, but he bottomed out because he has spent far more than HRC on advertising for CA, NJ, NM, etc.
I note now, he is fundraising again, not just for himself, but for his Chosen Apostles as well. OK...yeah yeah, he say's he's not a savior, thus would not have Apostles...but really, the Berniecrat Politicians are Apostles, Emissaries of the Movement.

In late March, right after the AZ primary his campaign said
that he would not be spending a lot of money on ads in California and instead he would be spending a lot of time in the state. So this isn't really that surprising. I'm sure if the campaign was flush with cash and a narrow victory in CA was sufficient to win the nomination, he would be spending more on TV ads along with doing public events (in part because he would likely have more money to spend if the race was closer). But at this point, I think part of the idea is to try out the "proof of concept". Sanders supporters have been doing their own organizing in the state months before the official campaign arrived.
I would be surprised if Sanders was doing heavy spending on ads in New Jersey and New Mexico right now. He spent almost nothing in Kentucky. Some of the media markets in New Jersey were probably blanketed with ads during the NY, Delaware and PA primaries, so the would have been some overlap in the media markets in those states. The same might be true with respect to ad buys in Arizona vis a vis New Mexico.

Dennis Williams, my UAW president, will be on hardball tonight. I suspect he's going to endorse clinton. I'm so tired of these so called union leaders begging for crumbs from corporate dems. I'm pissed already and I don't even know if this is what's coming down. But I've got a bad feeling...

Is it possible that they're buying into her being Obama's
third term? The auto bailout, and all that? At least they waited until Bernie had a chance to run a race. AFT really pissed me off, along with their members.

But think it's says a lot that the UAW leadership waited until after the Kentucky primary to endorse Clinton. Between the lines I see it as a strong positive statement about Sanders that they held off even when Clinton had a strong delegate lead.
Won't have a big impact during the June 6th primaries. More of a statement about the general election.
I was a Regional VP For AFSCME
and in my experience the leadership and the membership frequently disagree on endorsements.
It caused me a moderate amount of flack with the the national when I issued a dissenting endorsement to my local, but it was for a state level race so didn't get as much heat as it would have in this cycle.
The membership generally endorses (not that it happens) based on position, the leadership? I'd go with favors and obligation as their motive over idealism when it comes to selecting a candidate to endorse.
This isn't always the case by any means.
Just like there are good people and bad people there are good unions and bad unions. (or at least bad union leaders.)

The good part is that they must be feeling guilty for being so angry and mean. I've been feeling really bad that I had been duped for so long, thinking so many of those people were nice human beings. I thought it would go back to the way it was before this election, but without trust, and with all the mean crap, there's no way. I don't know much about Markos. Does someone who does, think this is what he ultimately wanted? It's hard to be old and naive in one body, but I'm terribly confused.
Kos did a whole redesign of the Web site last fall, supposedly
to particularly attract younger users to the site. Supposedly more user friendly for people on phones and tablets, plus easier to tweet or Facebook etc. I had a tablet for a little while and I know that was terrible - very slow. I think phones are the same. Stories do look nice on Facebook, but stories from here about the same. So I don't know if their tech support actually succeeded in what they wanted to do, but I think they did see increasing traffic after an initial dip when the site was really dysfunctional, but they fixed most of that. Then this year after the Ides of March, vastly decreasing traffic. Including many of the young people who they wanted to attract in the first place! Because that's the demographic Bern attracts.
They are still losing traffic. See Quantcast. So I don't know Markos real well, but the only thing that makes sense to me is that Kos was paid to be a Hill supporter, i.e., by the Hill campaign, and that makes up for all the revenue he is missing by pushing us all out.
So in short, I don't think this is what he wanted last fall. But I think he will do whatever he thinks makes the most sense to his future plans, so what he wanted abruptly changed. Once paid, he acted accordingly.
I have no evidence he is a shill for Hill, other than the mysterious rejection of over half his audience including about 80% of young people, and the fact that the Hill campaign has scads of money. Also, some others here have said there are other "progressive" Web sites that have taken this same road at about the same time. Coincidence? I think not. Follow the money.

I was a Bernie supporter and voted for him in the North Dakota open primary on Super Tuesday. After he started throwing Molotov cocktails and shouting "Fuck Ewe Perra" at the California debate, I am so over Bernie! There must be a lot like me because the latest polls shows dear, sweet Hillary to be ahead 85% to 7% in California. You lost already! Dear sweet Hillary has 12,000,000 more votes than Bernie if you include Trump votes. We know the polls now are useless because Trumpistas will all vote for HER when they get sick of Bernie's smears about... well I am too embarrassed to say. Do the math! And stop destroying the Party.
This campaign ad from Bernie Sanders totally turned me off. Offering poor people free stuff is plain buggertry. At first I thought he was a serious candidate. I felt his position on abolishing Christmas was right-on, but with this ad, well I think his Burnie Bruhs and he himself should get psychiatric help for megalomania. I am so over him. I am so over him.
But it was this following ad from Bernie's headquarters that really turned me off his campaign. Whether it's accurate is another question.
They have 18-34 vote breaking for Sanders 52-48, which is out of line with every other state. Usually Sanders wins 18-34 by 65-35 to 70-30.
Early vote is 57-40 which is in line with other states. Usually though, the election date vote breaks strongly in favor of Sanders, but they show election day as the same as the early vote, which would be a first.
Can't find SurveyUSA polls outside of California this year however, so no idea how accurate it is.

Over sampled over 50 wealthier people, low sample size, and 30% of sample was from an online survey. Not very reliable.

A poll this morning showed the race at 48-46 . . .
which is more in line with where I would guess the race is given Sanders performance in the west, and given the new voter registration data.
