"The silence is deafening. Break it."
Given the gravity of the events last night and the amazing efforts put in by all the participants of the NV 3rd Dem Caucus, we owe it to them to make sure this is seen. We cannot let the media black out such a clear breach of the public trust. I believe we need to start pushing the videos and the links to stories and periscopes much harder. We need to force the media to cover it or lose credibility. With the videos and testimony available it is reprehensible that CNN is not covering it right this second and that a million stories a min are not flying out of every outlet.
The silence is deafening. Break it.
Nevada Democratic Convention: Stories of Voter Suppression
The Nevada Democratic Convention lasted for at least 16 hours on Saturday, but ended even more controversially than it began. The Convention began with a highly debated decision to change the Convention rules despite not getting the needed majority of vocal votes. But at the end of the night, when a motion was made to recount the delegates, the chair of the Convention closed out the meeting without even giving the delegates’ a chance to say “nay.” Now it’s looking like legal action will be the next step.

FWIW, there is a possible civil suit available. The DNC has conducted the nomination in violation of the established rules, where they've inherently made a claim of a fair nomination, and by accepting/offering membership based on that claim, the DNC has violated it.
"... they've inherently made a claim ..." to sell you a service, a national nomination, that's the only real worth of an (R) or a (D) designation. There might be a civil case under "implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose" -- that particular purpose meaning a fair and honest national party nomination. See U.C.C. § 2-315. Implied Warranty: Fitness for Particular Purpose. - https://www.law.cornell.edu/ucc/2/2-315

You know... It sickens me to read the comments and
most diaries at TOP, and now it's sickening me to read the diaries and comments here.
It is so demoralizing to read and know exactly what's going on and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it.
The only thing that I know I can do is keep supporting Bernie with money and #NeverHillary, never voting for Hillary. But I live in a blue state, so the stupid voters will vote for her, the same stupid voters who voted for an asshole republican for governor -- twice, with tons of Democratic elected officials publicly supporting the republican governor.
I don't know how much more I can take. After the convention, I am definitely resigning and changing my party from the Democratic Party that I have been a member of my entire adult life and supported and worked for as a teenager.
I am just so sick over this.
On second thought, I think I need to hear a Bernie
speech. He's certainly not giving up, and I'll try not to give up, either.

Shirley, may I call you Shirley?
sorry about that small joke but I had to get it out and over with.
I agree with how you feel about it sickens you to read the diaries and comments at TOP. Anytime a Bernie supporter calls them out on their bullshit or makes a comment there, the bots swarm all over us.
Now Armando has written another of his condescending diaries and he attacks anyone who has a different view about what happened yesterday.
Try not to get demoralized because that's what they want to happen. They are stuck in their fantasy land that Hillary walks on water and will be the greatest president since Obama.
No matter how many times people write about how corrupt she and Bill are, they just won't hear or see it.
They have done the same thing with Obama when it comes to his continuing what Bush did regarding the bogus war on terror.
It's now okay to use drones in countries that haven't threatened us, invade countries on made up claims, like Assad using sarin gas on his people. The gas actually got to Syria by the way of Benghazi when the CIA and Hillary's state department were running guns and other types of weapons out of the embassy. Funny how the Benghazi committee didn't ask what Stevens was doing when he got killed, isn't it?
Yes keep supporting Bernie and if he doesn't win then we all need to look for ways to continue what he started.
My good news is that I'm in a red state and its going to vote for Bernie over Hillary.
And this is a great site where we get to write about the truth without being attacked 'here'.
But as I have mentioned before, the bots are monitoring what we write here and on Reddit and other sites
So childish.
And after Hillary wins the presidency and shifts to the right, we get to tell them that we tried to warn them

I decided not to use my gos name here because I want it both ways: I want to say what I want here, but if it's repeated at gos, I'll be banned, and I want to stay at gos to support BNR, OPOL, Bob Swern, and a couple other people.
Clever. I figured I'd take a chance on being banned for what I
say here or wherever. I'll abide by Kos' rules on his own Web site. But there's not an effing chance in Hades that I'll abide by his rules all over the Internet. He does not own the entire thing. Neither does Hillary. If I get banned for what I say elsewhere, then it's Kos' and the Dem party's loss.

It is good to see that the NV people were being more proactive than what we have seen in most states. It is something people should have been doing in each state since we could see since Iowa the way the wind was blowing.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.--Aristotle
If there is no struggle there is no progress.--Frederick Douglass
So...
The NV state party is pumping out some nonsense about 'following the rules' that in fact has nothing to do with the controversy.
The keys facts according to those that were there are that voting took place before the scheduled time, and that delegates were excluded from being counted because they had not confirmed their addresses with the NV State Party before the convention.
Those of you familiar with voter suppression tactics (primarily of the GOP) are aware that this suppression of the vote based on flimsy factors such as un-returned address confirmation cards/phone calls to out-of-service phone numbers as classic voter suppression.
The NV State Party is attempting to make it look like the Sanders delegates who were disallowed were "not really Democrats" (sounds familiar eh?) when in fact that was not the reason they were blocked from being counted. The credentials committee was packed with pro-Hillary members prior to the convention specifically with the goal of disallowing as many Sanders delegates as necessary for Hillary to 'win'. There were Sanders supporters on the credentials committee, and they have issued a 'minority report' stating that the Sanders delegates should have been counted.
There is a question in my mind how much, if any of these late rules changes by the NV State Committee were legal, considering that all rules for assigning delegates must be approved by the National DNC. The flimsy pretense used to deny Sanders delegates their role in the convention reeks of voter suppression, and may even be a violation of DNC rules.
I assume the Sanders camp or another outside group will immediately file suit to stop the certification of these clearly illegitimate results.
I am unbelievably pissed off
at everything that went down in Nevada. I seriously cannot believe the nerve of Barbara Boxer, the Democratic Party officials there, and the Hillary partisans. They can all kiss my ass, as far as I'm concerned.
This is war, goddamnit!
Also too, good call about the media blackout. I would think this would be something Rachel Maddow could potentially pick up, as she's done that kinda thing before. Also, if some of the high-powered internet media sites keep harping on it, WaPo or the NYT could pick it up.
Or, fuck, even Drudge. How sad is that?!
I kind of hate the Democratic Party right now. Yeah.

I have read this on more than one site
People are pissed at how blatant she was in breaking the rules and being for Hillary.
She had the Gaul to say that we need civility in the Democratic Party and then she insulted the Bernie supporters?
She has certainly shed her skin as being a progressive. But her and DiFi have been in the corporation's pockets for decades. I'm glad that she is retiring , but she has gotten very rich by playing as a democrat during her career. As has most members of congress.

I've never said as much, but, while the person clinging to the board in the ocean is nice visually, it represents being adrift and helpless, and leads credence to Shirley's comment directly above: "It is so demoralizing to read and know exactly what's going on and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it."
I'm more "I have only begun to fight" and "Damn the torpedoes"

To me it is about hope rewarded. Being adrift at sea and being rescued. CStS had the foresight to initiate this place. JtC persevered and built it for us. That's all great - not sad. Bernie and his birdie shone a light on the truth. Twitter and FB have been roaring about the Clintons, the party corruption and are all Bernie or Bust. The MSM is old media. The internet is where it is at.

DK: "the Internet is where it is at."
And we must protect it at all costs. While I can see the government trying to protect their interest in being able to track us, I can also see them trying to limit free speech. We need to find ways to thwart both as well as limit, or better yet, eliminate corporate intrusion and monopolies.

Damn
I finally watched that video. I wish I hadn't. I am beyond pissed. I have more contempt for these "democrats" than I've ever had for ANY republican. That includes cheney and bush. I was going to wait and see how the convention shakes out but this week I'm going to my BOE and changing my party from D to Indie or Green. If my Union, the UAW, endorses clinton, even after the convention, should she win, I'm pulling my retiree dues and resigning my elected positions. Should Bernie not be on a ticket in November I will vote for the most likely candidate that can beat clinton. Should that be Trump or Richard Nixon's moldy corpse then so be it. The Democratic party runs deep in my family's history but I am now done with it. For those of you who want to stay and try and change it, good for you. I'm too old.
This is what I meant in the other diary about

I would not be surprised if the Clintons have a backup plan if
Bern wins enough delegates to be competitive - that is, somehow disallow all the votes if Bern supporters are no longer Dems by the convention. Please do NOT change your registration until after the convention, just in case! Let Bern go to the convention with his full complement of Dems at his back.

Boxer was out of line
By the way she kept taunting the Bernie supporters and then cheering Hillary's name.
She's to blame for the anger of Bernie's supporters the way she kept running her mouth.
The blatant corruption of this election is gauling. Bill going to 4 voting places that were pro Bernie and being disruptive and having the secret service block of parking areas and making it harder for people to vote. I wonder just how many people didn't vote because they didn't have the time because they needed to get back to work?
Well, the blinders are off and people can see exactly what the Democratic Party stands for finally.
Vote for the most corrupt, scandal ridden candidate who bought the 33 delegates before she even announced her candidacy or vote for the man who is running on the ideals of what the party used to represent and who they stood for.

they weren't supposed to get a chance to plead their case
The entire purpose of changing the rules before the convention was to allow the chair to violate the rights of those in attendance at will.
The credentials committee was a sham body packed with Hillary supporters that was meant to create the excuse needed to block Sanders delegates from being counted. It was obvious what was being planned for the convention, and I hope that whatever court hears this case going forward will take into account that Sanders supporters knew what was going to happen all along, and tried to sue to stop it, but were denied, and now that the NV State Party has accomplished its undemocratic mission to fix the convention results, only a court can stop this disgusting perversion of democracy.
this
was my sense as well and I spent more hours than I can spare trying to make sense of it all.
Also expect they'll do some variation of this for Philly with Barney Frank at Rules Committee etc. Bernie was spot on right to call out DWS for stacking the committees.

Full disclosure, I don't read Politico every week, and I didn't read the story, because I'm not going to fall for it! The headline tells it all. And this story! I wanted to scream! I can't go to Chicago, I don't think, but I'm thinking of giving to the scholarship fund. I can't go to D.C. or Philadelphia. I will continue to support Bernie with my dollars. But what the hell is going to happen? Are we Progressives mad enough yet to do something?
