Rex Murphy: Hillary Clinton's long, tortured, road ahead
Submitted by TheJerry on Sat, 05/14/2016 - 6:15pm
Rex Murphy of the National Post (Canada) has a great article about Hillary Clinton's long and painfully winding road ahead.
He sums it up as:
In Clinton's dreams, Sanders is The Monster from the Lagoon. Trump will annihilate her
It's a great short read from an outside perspective that I think really sums up current reality.
Comments
I think she will do that last - antagonize, maybe not the people
within the party, but the Bern supporters especially the Indies, by moving too far to the right. Courting Jeb's donors? Really??

Oh, FOR FRAK'S SAKE! Don't you check out ...
...the Canadian, as well as European newspapers and columnists before you place ANY credence in them?
THE NATIONAL POST is a PRO-NETANYAHU SHILL RAG.. and OF COURSE it supports "POOR, POOR PUT-UPON" sh!lary. After all it's the voice of the loudest goose-steppling fascist ever to come out of Israel, for corn's sake!
That columnist is a wattle rubbing tw@t and not even fit lining for the bottom of a parakeet's cage, right under the perch.
::sigh::

There are days that I even enjoy Morning Joe.....
Doesn't mean I embrace him and everything he stands for. Just means that even a broken clock is right twice a day. Not getting any Bernie coverage from the MSM unless it is bad sort of leaves of stuck with the RW willing to say it outloud. There is always room to disagree, right??

Um, you say "of course they support poor put-upon Shillary,"
but we like this article because it precisely does not do that. It basically says the DNC strategy is crazy because they will lose if she is the nominee.
I understand you don't like him and don't want to read such, but why would you think we're cheering an article in support of Shillary?

This is all true.
[1] Pro-Netanyahu. Even worse, pro-Eretz Yisrael.
[2] "Climate change is Junk Science.", per the Nat ComPosts editorial Board, of which Rex Murphy is a member.Murphy believes that, ffs. Think about it before clamoring about broken clocks and blind squirrels.
[3] Of course he and his editorial board hate Hillary. They hate ALL Democrats. To the RWNJs at the Nat ComPost, even Donald f'ng Trump isn't right-wing enough for them.

We GET IT. You don't like the guy.
Good grief!
How about taking the hostility in some comments down a level.
I think that most people here were just saying that the writer seemed perceptive and made some good observations in this one article.
Two other commenters here may very well be 100% correct about the writer, the newspaper, and the interests and ideologies they represent.
Where things go off the tracks is, they both seem to want to portray people’s offhand approval of a good observation or a nice turn of phrase as their ringing, binding endorsement of everything that writer ever wrote, everything that newspaper ever printed, or every corrupt aim the financial backers of that newspaper ever pursued.
How about taking it down a level? A friendly warning about the writer and newspaper’s politics is constructive — a hostile warning combined with personal attack is not.
Yes, I find that odd too. How does "good point" translate to
"I want to marry you and have your baby"?

$hrill column
This was a decent column even iffen it was written by the Canadian equivalent of a RWNJ. The only beef I have is the nonsense about the Bernster's issues being old hat. They aren't especially his take on climate change being both an environmental and (national) security threat. The young Americans (David Bowie?) are responding and coming out and voting in droves. That's a very good thing! Rec'd!

This article
appears to be a must-read, from the looks of things. Thanks for posting it!
Here is how I read the article
Before I address the substance of the article itself, I want to say that I do not care if someone is a RWNJ or not. I saw the words I just read to be true. That does not mean I approve of everything this author believes or has written in the past. My judgment below is based upon this article alone.
First, this article hits the proverbial nail on the head in its characterization of Clinton and her campaign. From the very beginning the Clinton campaign has been one yawn after another with a total lack of enthusiasm behind it . It is a lot like a dead man walking.
Second, the author correctly points out that it has taken every possible maneuver, including voter suppression, election fraud, buying off super delegates with threats and/or promises, and out and out dirty tricks to keep the Clinton campaign ahead in this race. That speaks very poorly to both the candidate and her campaign in addition to our corrupt system of elections in this country.
Third, I saw this article as not only a condemnation of Clinton and her campaign, but a truly scathing indictment of the corrupt Democratic party.
Last, what ever was said about Bernie was basically used to contrast him and his campaign against the lackluster corrupt campaign of Hillary Clinton. IMO, Bernie came off as the only honorable being in this entire corrupt system.
Do I hear the sound of guillotines being constructed?
“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." ~ President John F. Kennedy
Yup.
"Bernie came off as the only honorable being in this entire corrupt system."
That's because he is.

I don't know how he came up with the phrase, "Arkansas Scamalot", but boy howdy! Nail. Head. Whammo!
He may hate $hillary for all the wrong reasons, but he really raked her over the coals. And she deserves it.
There is no justice. There can be no peace.
Well I don't
care at this point in my political evolution about the bogus lines drawn by the propagandists of mass deception. Left, center, right are not valid directions. I have noticed that Hillary is a right wing nut job herself so why get all worked up about enemies within the bizarre ideological lines drawn by the pundirt's and pols of mass deception.
I mean how much further right wing can you get then kissing Kissenger or getting an endorsement from a hard core neo-con like Robert Kagan of PNAC fame. The Mad Bomber see's no problem with RWNJ's they are her constituency as she once said about Rupert Murdock.
I get told I'm a far left purist nut job all the time. I also get told that up is down and right is left. These days you need to find your own direction home. The enemy is not ideological as any real measurement is gone daddy gone. Haven't you heard issues mean nothing. What you get when you win means nothing except stopping the other side. Who as we all know is pure evil while our side is incrementally evil or pragmatically evil. Both sides are RWNJ's to this far lefty.

It's sometimes difficult to remember this, but remember it we must.
