And one of the leading figures in Wall Street’s scavenging of the wreckage created by Wall Street is also a big-time backer of Hillary Clinton.

His name is Donald Mullen, and he was once the global head of credit at Goldman Sachs. He was credited with devising the infamous “big short,” by which the firm bet bigger than big that the housing market would collapse even as it was urging customers to invest in it.

“Sounds like we will make some serious money,” he famously emailed colleagues in 2007, at early signs of the impending implosion.

This guy and his partner from Bear Stearns, Curt Schade got 400 million dollar credit line from Deutsche Bank (who was saved by the government after these guys raped the financial system) and they are now the proud owners of OVER 200,000 rental properties. Before you can rent from these guys you cannot have been evicted within the last seven years, you cannot have been incarcerated for a felony for seven years, and a misdemeanor for three years. You really need to read all the rules. For a couple bastids that should be in prison, they're sure sitting pretty.

I dread the thought of

a trump presidency. And just as much I dread the thought of a clinton presidency. So if it comes down to these two immoral sacks, I will sit back and enjoy the trashing trump is going to inflict on the anointed one. I watched some of the hearing the gowdy bunch subjected her to and I was cheering for her all the way. I even said, that should she beat Bernie, I'd gladly vote for her. Funny what a few months of her nastiness can do for a person's perspectives. I'll never vote for her. If she loses Ohio by one vote everyone can blame me. I'd be proud to wear the badge.
BTW, this has nothing to do with her supporters or even her handlers. A bunch of people that mean absolutely squat to me will not dictate how I vote one way or the other. Never have and never will. This is all about her. I wish she were a better ~~candidate~~ person so I could at least hold my nose and vote for her but it's went way beyond that. I think what sealed the deal was when Berta Cáceres was murdered in Honduras. All of these things, with the clintons fingerprints all over them, just kept adding up until it reached a point that I can no longer, as a member of this great human race, even consider assisting someone like her obtain the most powerful job in the world.

I don't have to vote for $hillary to keep tRump from the oval office...

It was a pretty close vote in Connecticut between Hillary & Bernie, but in the general election if she loses to tRump in Connecticut she has far bigger problems than my single vote will ever cure...

I'll be quite happy giving the Green's a boost and not helping $hillary rack up a meaningless popular vote that has no bearing on the electoral college vote...

Better times are coming, the movement is growing stronger, the crap a $hillary or, tRump Presidency will pull will only be the strong medicine needed to increase our movement to a size where it is the dominant force in politics. An "Addiction to Bad Politics" can only be cured when people reach their "Bottom," and although it will be an uncomfortable 4 years for us, it will quickly grow our movement.

We actually have a lot to look forward to, and a lot of work to do for the revolution. As we shift from the primary, into general election mode, and beyond, it is important that we continue the revolution that Bernie has helped funnel our efforts into. We have a "Brand New Congress to Elect" so that in the candidate we elect in the next presidential election has a congress that will work with him or, her...

Our platform has come a lot closer to being a win than it was in 2000 when it was initially proposed by Nader. 2016 will just be a dose of strong medicine for the non-believers, and a bigger hole to dig out of when all the repercussions of a $hillary or, tRump presidency are tallied to the final bill...

Lets get to work and make the best of it!

I just checked your code and you're not adding the text in between the tags, add the text and they'll show up. You are using the HTML for a text link, without the text in the proper place the link wont display.

If you want just the link to show up remove all the tag brackets. There's nothing wrong with the site, the problem is with your code. I'll remove the brackets for you and then the links will display.

when I link I either just copy the url of the website and paste it into the comment box OR
I use the 'Insert /edit link' on the toolbar. When I use that it gives me 3 boxes I can fill in. I put the link url in the top box and some text in the second box, leaving the 3rd box empty. both ways always work for me.
sure hope we can get this resolved for you. I know I hate it when computer are pissing me off.

just saw The Big Short on DVD

and it kills me that i was reading about the impending bust being laid out by a diarist on DK named Bonddad. that name might ring a bell with some of you old timers. Bonddad was saying some of the very same things that i saw on The Big Short.

i fretted and thought we should sell the house while we could make a nice tidy profit. my partner thought we should stay put and continue to gain equity in the house. besides, the market had reached such a peak would wouldn't be able to buy into another house and he really didn't want to go back to renting.

well, woulda-coulda-shoulda. i hoped that if the housing market did slow down then we would still retain some value in the house. i never expected the price to drop to what i paid for it seven years prior.

I recall by June of Obama's first year (2009) he was saying green shoots were sprouting everywhere and the unemployment rate was about to start falling. Bank collapse but I worked very hard to understand those diaries and because of those diaries I and my late hubby removed ANY money we could out of the BIG banks before the big crash and into a local credit union. It saved us a lot of lost savings. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE my local credit union bank... Everyone knows my name and I know everyone..including the president of the CU. and I feel like I am invested in my local community because....I NOW AM.

gjohnsit had some of the best diaries...

that showed how the housing market was going to implode. I'll never forget the graphs he posted of when and how many of the adjustable rate mortgages were going to reset to higher interest rates. The meltdown followed the graphs almost perfectly.

I tried everything I could to get my friends and family to sell their houses and rent for a year or two. I was really relentless and they tired of hearing it from me. Not a single person I tried to convince took my advice. They were all going "to be millionaires". Instead, many watched their home values drop by as much as 75%. Many of those same people won't even talk to me anymore. In some cases, it seems they almost blame me for not pushing them harder.

remember him talking about the housing market though. My brother bought a house in October 2008 right at the peak. Lost the whole thing and ended up declaring bankruptcy. Saw "The Big Short" a few weeks ago. Makes me wonder if the same players also shorted American and United Airlines before 9/11.
