Can money buy votes?

.
US midterms to become most expensive election ever.
It is estimated almost $12 Billion has been spent by
"super PACs" this cycle. That is buying a lot of influence.
It is no wonder our system is so corrupt. This could be
mitigated by rescinding Citizens United in part. But too many
political operatives and ad agencies are making too much money
for that to happen. After all, congress and justice vote their wallets.
Did you spend anything on candidates or issues? I didn't.

Influence dollars are poisoning our system.
Perhaps AIPAC is experiencing some buyers remorse
by backing the wrong horse, if polls are to be trusted.
When candidates are using rejection of zion funds as a
campaign strategy, you know the tide has changed.

AIPAC made some announcement this week about their name and brand had become toxic. They said their new strategy would be to funnel money to small subsidiary NGOs, and "encourage" wealthy individual donors to contribute to the right candidates.

Nice bulletproof glass cage, though. The "crowd" estimate is 60 people, most of whom are probably Secret Service or Capitol Police. Or perhaps his producer and that associated dog-wagging crew.

Billionaires shouldn’t be allowed to buy and sell US midterms.
But it does none the less.

The bulk of money spent to manipulate and even misinform viewers flows
back to media companies that many of the nation’s richest donors control.

This cycle of money and influence is turning people away from meaningful political engagement, put off by the deluge of dishonest attack ads that will have aired hundreds of thousands of times before viewers become voters on November 3.
