Hi Guys!
Today is the day! I have been avoiding the news coverage all day (Baked cookies for the wife to take to work for her co-workers tonight and got caught up on Lucifer) so I wouldn't go crazy waiting for the results, lol! So if I missed something important fill me in!
I hope you guys join me, it may be a looong night.
I will be watching TYT's Live stream and posting results as they come in.

I am so on pins and needles. Just got the courage to check in. Been thinking good thoughts all day. Found three shells on my beach run. Unusual. Hope it's a sign. Thinking 3% for Bernie. Also. May it be so.

I am on the fence with that...
I can understand why he would do so, not that I would agree with his reasons.
It would just be another thing I disagree with him on and it wouldn't change my decision not to vote for Hillary.
I honestly hope he goes for a third party/Independent run myself. Particularly if Jesse Ventura or some other indy jumps in on the conservative side. That could put Sanders in position where he could mount a strong third party candidacy.

Yes, give up on Bernie!
Not because Sanders would be a bad person for endorsing the way he said he would, but because it would neutralize him politically for some time to come, if not permanently.
And, of course, because Hillary Clinton and her class are bags of shit
We need a bold leader and an equally bold cadre of supporters to lay the ground for a permanent organization to develop a new party, one initially masquerading as an anti-neoliberal movement, possible as an explicit green/left coalition.
It would be nice to have Sanders included to help draw his supporters along, but he was right: is us, not him. The ideas, not the candidate.
And that's no criticism of Sanders as a person or politician, just a statement of what I think is needed next.
The future is Youth/Left/Green.
“If there is no justice for the people, may there be no peace for the government.”
You're right on that, of course.
There's always that.....
But don't give up on Bernie just because he endorses HRC on the floor of the
ClusterfuckConvention. After all, he needs to get his poor ass out of the building. Then, he can do to Hillary what Hillary has done to us: ratfuck!

That's silly
if he actually does that, I'm going to choose to believe it's a matter of self-preservation for the short term. You have to believe the guy has got to keep up appearances in some ways.
That being said, I don't think he will. He'll stop just short and he'll do something else-probably something nobody expects

I was terrified it would get called for Hillary right away, but this means we have a chance.
Sanders has closed bigger gaps than that if it is at all accurate.
I also have hope that he will do a LOT better in the rural counties than Hillary. (Lots of hunters up there.)

I'm not certain that this is the reason why, but....
She tends to do better with the absentee ballots, and it would stand to reason that those would get reported earlier than the "Live" results so maybe that is why Bernie tends to come from behind on these.
The good news is it wasn't called right away like it was for Trump. That means it was too close to call, the longer it goes, the better it looks for Sanders IMO.

Two Dem ships in the night! One towards yesterday's sunset and one onward to tomorrow's new dawn. Se it, Harry, and believe it. And two "GOP" parties: a christianist-racist party and a corporatist globalist party. About time.

Thx Alpha for throwing us a party once again. My only complaint is that you aren't sharing those fresh baked cookies with us. What's up with that, eh?
The Democratic Party is completely corrupt. Whether or not Bernie wins this elections, it's time to build a new party. We need to start contacting anyone and every one who might be interested from the Greens to TYT to the more progressive labor unions, etc etc etc.

interesting that so much of NYC is reporting

Twain Disciple
That is how the new Democratic Party Rolls.
I can't help but remember that my ancestors helped start the Republican Party, when that was the new progressive party, then they changed over to Democrats when the Republicans were overtaken by Robber Barons and financial thugs. The party labels and all they used to mean become a blind to conceal the fact that the people are now being served up to the corporate masters.
I vaguely remember in the diary of a Roman mining engineer I was reading as a University student mentioned that he had ask a local chieftain to some slaves to the Roman mine and was that in the local system of government there was an office the Argyle Adar, who's main duty was to watch the chieftain and bring charges against him if he sold out his people to the Romans. If the king were found guilty he would be shot, hung and drowned.
I am not suggesting that we shoot, hang or drown anyone, but that it seems that our ancestors had a greater grasp of the fact that leaders can change, and be coerced or subverted and are not to be trusted unconditionally than we do.
So how many provisional ballots were handed out?
And when will they be counted?

Its a done deal. The disenfranchisement was a success.
"I’m a human being, first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.” —Malcolm X
It achieved one objective
That doesn't make it a success.
Far from it. This was blatant, deliberate disenfranchisement and it's opening a LOT of peoples' eyes. There will be repercussions of this primary, these thieves have already been playing with fire. And they are going to get their asses burned--maybe even Berned in another way--but one way or another.
Keep supporting the man in the meantime. The opposition can shove their shiny new Surrender Dorothy motif, because that ain't happening. And as I noted upthread, they can fuck right off while they're at it. This campaign continues. It's WELL under way in California.
Boy I hope you're right.

If these numbers stand,
If these numbers stand, Bernie is pretty much mathematically eliminated. He needed to win every remaining state by 57% to win the popular vote. Lose NY by this margin, he has no shot at winning the popular vote and thus no shot at swaying superdelegates or even a legitimate argument that they should be swayed.
Sad day.
don't give up. This is largely NYC
and anyway, this "popular vote" thing is irrelevant
they both need delegates. Some are from caucuses. You can't compare the vote there to primaries. The popular vote thing is a Clinton meme, left over from 2008 when she counted unofficial primaries that were declared null and void by the DNC.
