Album of the Week 5-30-26

Afternoon folks!

This week we've got some great Chicago blues starting out with an album from harmonica player Snooky Pryor, followed by an album from Hubert Sumlin, Willie Dixon, Sunnyland Slim and Clifton James. After that we've got an album from one of Muddy Waters' guitar players (who also later backed up Magic Slim) John Primer. After that we change gears for a live album from guitar wizard Danny Gatton and then we go way out in left field to finish up with an album of prog rock from Godley & Creme.

Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!

Sounds like a scary episode in the garden.
Thanks for the shy town run down joe.

On this day in 1993 the storied musician Sun Ra died in Birmingham.
He was influential in the Chicago jazz scene '45 thru '61. Mostly known
for his keyboard work, he was also a poet, composer, band leader and
philosopher.

@QMS Hey Q, I’m reading a music history book by Questlove called “Music is History.” Smile He’s got a few pages devoted to Sun Ra. Dude was a genius, but he was also mentally residing in the outer limits. Very good read which I highly recommend. Well, Professor, you are doing your usual excellent music programming. Rec’d!!
