It looks like Trump is succeeding in destroying Nato, knowingly or foolishly. His demands for them to come to his aid in opening up the Hormuz have gone unheeded. Talk about scattering like rats.
Trump has always talked down about the EU and the alliance, but I always thought it was about extorting more money out of them. He has said before they are not contributing their fair share of defending Europe against alleged Russian aggression.
It seems to me, IMHO, that since the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 90s, the European Union has learned to live and trade with the new Russian Federation in peace.
It is the American Regime that has pushed for Full Spectrum Dominance, using it vassals to contain Russia right up to her borders. The vassals gain nothing from this, all the spoils go to the hegemon, the Epstein
class.
I don't think this was Trump's intent. But his bull in the China shop routine has broke everything the Broligarths have constructed over the decades.
Can't say I'm unhappy about the destruction. But I don't want to clean up the mess.

Trying to figure out what's what is going on
is impossible to accomplish in the post-rational world we have no escape from.
My own take is that the goal of our master race is to make us all keep our attention fixed on personalities, rather that the substance of government policy. Under this asserted paradigm, Trump is the perfect decoy -- a mendacious creep with a ludicrous ego. This "war" thunders on as Trump demands that other countries join in his incomprehensible war and he bitches about it when he gets no takers.
The common denominator in all mainstream "news" is the presumption that Trump is calling his own shots as he imposes his personal agenda on the world. The only exception to this paradigm asserts that Netanyahu pulls his strings. I can't disprove this one, but I don't buy it.
It would be perfect if it turns out that Donnie has a puppeteer's hand up his ass.

At some point great numbers of Irish became christers, this was before there was such a thing as the catholic church. Across Europe christianity was subsumed into and within the catholic schtick. The catholics were never particularly kind to the Irish and it is something or a wonder so many stuck with them, but initially christian and catholic were the same damn thing.
Protestantism was born and began to spread. It was spread to Ireland in the form of British colonists who were not necessarily nice pieces of work and who were not welcomed or approved of outside of the areas they dominated, initially not so much because they were prots but because they were british colonists sometimes also known as fookin saxons, even if they were actually Scots. They turned orange in honor of the victory of William of Orange, a protestant, over King James II, a catholic. They thereby celebrated their protestant heritage and not so much the fact that they were British colonists.
The rest of the Irish, catholic or not stayed green in celebration of Ireland and the Irish, even though the catholic church never ceased screwing them over in myriad ways. After a generation or two a lot of Irish who left or were thrown out of the church, including beauoups rebels still kept to the green banner, because that was Ireland and Irish and opposed to all things british (or saxon). Note that the song "wearing of the green" makes no note of any religion of any kind, just us and those damned brits.

The only "fact" that nobody questions
from any angle of perspective is that Donald J. Trump is personally dreaming up the action in "his" war. There is a built-in ambiguity within this consensus as some say Israel and Netanyahu are pulling his strings. I stubbornly hold to my guess that some unseen personalities instruct Trump in a minute by minute mode.
