Album of the Week 3-14-26
Submitted by joe shikspack on Sat, 03/14/2026 - 3:00pm
Afternoon folks!
This week we're starting off with a couple of sixties era blues albums, the first from harmonica player James Cotton which I think is his first recording fronting his own band, followed by one from guitarist Lowell Fulson. After that it's on to some serious r&b with an album from Otis Redding. Then we move to some more modern blues with an album from John Hammond backed up by Little Charlie and the Nightcats followed by an album from The Spencer Davis Group. We finish up with an album to mellow you out from Cat Stevens.
Enjoy the tunes and have a great weekend!
Here 'tis:

or some such. Being patient. Was able to connect with
the Cat Stevens album before the black-out. OMG, that
was the basis of my development. Haven't heard it for
many, many moons. Know every word and chord. Brings
back lots of associations being a kid trying to find my
way in this world. Almost like a theme for my life.
Thanks for bringing this forward.

He's in good company with Otis Redding and Cat Stevens. It's your usual excellent playlist, Professor! Rec'd!!
