For now
Submitted by janis b on Fri, 03/13/2026 - 3:10am
farewell to this long-lived and loved community of friends and teachers who have contributed to so many facets of my personal growth and understanding. I’m sure I will continue to read and listen to the evening blues, as well as other essays, and continue to also be inspired by the photography, music and humour here. But for now I will enjoy a period of cosy hibernation. Cheers all

I understand the need to back away on occasion.

I won't be gone, just quietly sheltered in the serenity around me.
I'm glad you'll be looking in.

Hola. jb. I'm sure going to miss your
paintings/pics (notice the absence of quotes), as well as your tune links and comments. But, you are listening to that all-important Self voice, and it's whispering "Break time." I hope this has nothing to do with any sort of physical malady. Enjoy your NZ peace. As the bikers say, "Stay safe."

As with many others,
I'll miss your voice. But self-care absolutely must come first. I look forward to your eventual return to posting, if and when that becomes the right thing for you to do.
Be well, and above all, be safe!

Well, chica,
the less you read about this latest iteration of world war and who started it and for what purpose, the more serene you will be.
Enjoy your beautiful scenery.

We go way back, dear friend...
so long it feels like I'm losing a relative. If there was ever a time to take a respite, it is now.
I've known you long enough that I think I understand your reasoning, to that I say, it will pass.
Take solace in your interlude, my dear.

Late finding this, sorry to see you go and will miss all of
your contributions. I think I understand why and will be happy to see you return when you eventually do. In the meantime you will definitely be missed.

Hi Janis
I can't help but hope your absence is only temporary but I don't question your reasons. I will miss your thoughts and photos. Peace to you my friend.

Oh my friend...
I'll miss you. I've been wondering about your feelings of the ME war, but that may be why you are taking a break. Be assured I value your perspective, and hope if we avoid WWIII, you will come back to our conversation.
Peace, my friend!

Done the same.
I understand, Janis, as I have had to back off from many forums and engagement points for some time now. Recharging batteries as it were. Perhaps.
I will miss your kind touch here, but I imagine you know well what you need. Again, I understand.
All the very best to you and yours.
Dear Janis, I can only hope this is a good thing for you.
You have been a steady and beautiful foundation of this community. Your beautiful photos, art and bountiful nature are truly wonderful.
Thank you so much for all you do.
May you have beauty, love and health.
