March into War

March is the start of meteorological spring, and next week will be very springlike here. Sadly this weekend marks the start of another unprovoked war. Doesn't anyone remember the Iraq WMD lies? Evidently not...because here we go again, and without any logical reason. Russia starts unprovoked wars, we start "preemptive" wars. Yeah right.

The term “preemptive” is pure propaganda. The U.S. once again used the veneer of negotiations as a cover to bomb Iran. Tehran had just offered terms that went far beyond the 2015 nuclear deal. What was preempted was diplomacy. The same propaganda tactics used in 2003 Iraq war.

Jeffrey Sachs: US & Israel Attack Iran - War Is Spreading Across the Region
(33 min) Prof. Jeffrey Sachs discusses the US and Israeli attack on Iran. Trump has made a huge miscalculation as the war is spreading fast across the region, and could also destroy Israel and the US.
U.S.-Iran – A War Of Aggressions Which Aims Can Not Be Achieved
...Iran had offered unprecedented restrictions of its nuclear program to prevent a war.
... MINISTER ALBUSAIDI: The single most important achievement, I believe, is the agreement that Iran will never, ever have a nuclear material that will create a bomb. This is, I think, a big achievement. This is something that is not in the old deal that was negotiated during President Obama’s time. This is something completely new. It really makes the enrichment argument less relevant, because now we are talking about zero stockpiling. And that is very, very important, because if you cannot stockpile material that is enriched then there is no way you can actually create a bomb, whether you enrich or don’t enrich. And I think this is really something that has been missed a lot by the media, and I want to clarify that from the standpoint of a mediator.
...The U.S. however was not interested in a nuclear deal. Hours after Albusadi’s interview it joined Israel in a “pre-emptive” war on Iran.
...U.S. President Trump ... In an 8 minutes long speech (vid) he announced several war aims like the destruction of Iran’s missiles, the destruction of its navy and to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons it does not want. He called on the armed forces of Iran to lay down their weapons and for its people to overthrow its government.
...
The U.S. and Israel launched stand-off cruise-missiles against political and military targets in Iran. The compound of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran, the Ministry of Intelligence, the Ministry of Defense, the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency, the Parchin military complex were hit. Iran’s leadership had moved to safe places and was not affected by the strikes. A missile destroyed the house of the former president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, who has no role in the current government, and killed three of his guards. Several missiles, says Iran, have hit an elementary school in Minab, south Iran, and killed up to 60 children.
Iran responded by attacking U.S. military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates with hundreds of drones and shorter range missiles. A long range U.S. radar in Qatar was hit as were U.S. Navy fuel depots in Bahrain. Several salvos of tens of medium range missiles were fired against U.S positions in Jordan as well as against Israel.
These first salvos with older, less accurate missiles are intended to draw out U.S. air-defenses and to entice them to expend their limited missiles supplies. There have been reports of several explosions in various places in the Middle East but it is too early to assess if these are the consequences of falling debris or real intended results.
One target hit by the U.S. side was the headquarter of the Hashid Shaabi popular mobilization forces in Iraq. It killed several people. Following that Hashid Shaabi announced to join the fight on Iran’s side. Missiles have hit U.S. positions in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan.
The Houthi in Yemen as well as Hizbullah in Lebanon are expected to also join in the fight.
The exchange of missile strikes is expected to continue over several days. the U.S. will try to eliminate Iranian missile launchers and production facilities. Iran will try to exhaust U.S. missile defenses to then launch its more precise and effective missiles against Israel and major U.S. (naval) targets. Iran already claims to have hit a U.S. supply ship.
But Iran’s main instrument in this war will be its control over the transport of 20% of the world’s oil supplies.
It has just announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz...
Iran can control the Straits by simply firing land-based anti ship missiles.
By Monday fuel prices will have gone through the roof.
Oil prices are the major pressure point Iran has to cause effects within the U.S.
One wonders how long President Trump can sustain the war if the price of gasoline goes up and stays high.
This episode is a tragic mistake... like all the wars in the region Israel encouraged the US to fight.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is Dead
Despite some initial debate, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed during the airstrikes Saturday morning, Israeli officials report. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated in an Israeli strike on Tehran, with his body found under the rubble caused by an Israeli airstrike, senior Israeli officials were informed on Saturday evening, the Jerusalem Post reports. Documentation of Khamenei’s body was reportedly shown to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Khamenei has ruled the Islamic Republic of Iran since 1989, previously serving as president under Ruhollah Khomeini’s regime from 1981 until his ascension to supreme leader. He was 86 years old.
Killing the Ayatollah Khamenei Has Inflamed the Shi’a World
The Shi’a communities across the region took to the streets to protest and mourn the Ayatollah’s passing. In neighboring Baghdad a large crowd of Shi’a are now trying to breach the Green Zone. Iraqi security forces are trying to hold them back. This assassination by the United States and Israel was intended to weaken the Islamic Republic and set the stage for regime change. I think it will have the opposite effect, i.e., strengthen support for the government and bolster the status of hardliners who have zero inclination to compromise with the West.
It is barely 24 hours since Israel and the US launched the decapitation strikes and Iran — within 90 minutes of the first attack — began launching counterstrikes targeting all US military installations and bases in the region. Last June, following the decapitation strikes, it took Iran almost 12 hours to pull itself together and launch missiles towards Israel. Today Iran has responded by hitting both Israel and key targets in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain,Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. An Iranian general appeared on Iranian TV and vowed to hit Israel and the US forces in the region with a new type of weapon.
Trump and the neocons continue to believe that the support for the Islamic Republic is shallow and fragile. But judging from the reaction of the Iranians to the murder of the Ayatollah, I think Iran is now fully committed to a war of attrition. The advantages the US currently enjoys are likely to dissipate if this war continues for several weeks. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic will inflict severe economic harm to the global economy if the IRGC is able to keep it closed.
The odds are high that the Iranian attacks on US military installations and Israel will escalate in coming days. The US airbase in Erbil is under attack; the CIA station in Dubai has been hit with a missile as well as a Kuwaiti air base that is hosting US aircraft. Let’s see what the next 24 hours brings.
Will this war destroy Israel and the US?
Chas Freeman: The War Against Iran Could Destroy the U.S. Republic (42 min)
Saudi Arabia has been a vassal state for years, and is showing it colors again.
Saudi Arabia Joins U.S. in Fighting Iran
Fox News national correspondent Jennifer Griffin announced live on Saturday afternoon, “We’re just getting word that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia says they will join the U.S. in the operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Operation Epic Fury has a new partner. The Iranian regime was so foolish that it managed to get Saudi Arabia at least temporarily on the same side as Israel, which really is shocking.Griffin continued, “They [Saudi Arabia] said that this comes in the wake of Iran attacking the U.S. base in Saudi Arabia. I just spoke to a senior U.S. official who said the Iranians made a big mistake by firing on Arab coalition partners. Now they are likely to respond. So by Iran firing missiles at UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, they are now likely to fire back at Iranian targets.”
Sounds like WWIII...
Russia Condemns US Attack On Iran, Warns Of ‘Radiological Catastrophe’
Moscow has blasted the major overnight and early morning US-Israeli strikes on Iran, calling the attack “a preplanned and unprovoked act of armed aggression against a sovereign and independent U.N. member state” and has demanded an immediate halt to the military campaign and a return to diplomacy.
...Moscow is further warning of Iraq-style catastrophe and a regional domino effect which could unleash terrorism and chaos for years to come. The attacks could trigger “humanitarian, economic and possibly radiological catastrophe” in the region, and charged the US and Israel of “plunging the Middle East into an abyss of uncontrolled escalation.”
...China too has condemned the attack on Iran alongside Moscow, but using words much more restrained that Russia’s. “China calls for an immediate stop of the military actions, no further escalation of the tense situation, resumption of dialogue and negotiation, and efforts to uphold peace and stability in the Middle East,” its foreign ministry ministry said on X.

Zionist Owner Of Paramount Just Bought Warner Bros Too!
(13 min) Ultra-Zionist Larry Ellison and his son David Ellison are expanding their media holdings through Paramount Global, positioning the company to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery and all its major assets. Jimmy points out that this move would consolidate ownership of outlets like CNN, CBS News, HBO, and numerous entertainment franchises under one family, raising concerns about media concentration and political influence among powerful Zionists.
While some figures on the left have argued that the deal is not yet done, and individual state Attorneys General could intervene, Jimmy rates the likelihood of this happening as slim and the chances of anyone or anything stopping the march toward media consolidation under supporters of Israel as roughly zero.

There so much more but I think this is enough for now. It will take days for the dust to settle and let us see through the fog of war. I'll say again I think this is a colossal mistake. There is absolutely no rational reason to start this war. Trump was given his marching orders from his Zionist masters. Tune in next week and we'll see how it is working out. Everyone might want to go ahead and fill up their car today. No telling what gas will cost in a few days.
So I'm sorry for the bad news, but we are ruled by arrogant idiots. Take care friends.

These puppets don't think, they follow orders. Trump is toast for the midterms, but unfortunately the dimwits are not better...at the SOTU the one thing they all clapped for was a war with Iran. They are Zionist owned and controlled. As Massey told us every member has at least one AIPEC handler.
Though this will effect us all economically and politically, the final outcome might be beneficial. At least we can hope.

Good morning, LO!
I need more coffee before I do much in depth info gathering. Still, just a headline reporting 200 casualties among US military personnel is the only mention of our soldier's getting killed.
Another headline suggests a 10% increase in fuel costs. That cost will, of course, raise prices on everything we buy sitting on a store's shelf. It all has to be delivered to get to those stores.
Oh, well, take a joy ride in your mind, not on the roads.
Thanks for the WW. Second cup of java coming up, friend!

I had several old gas cans
in my barn, but who knows what kind of sediment would be in them? So, we bought 3 new 5 gal. cans, have full tanks in the truck, car, and SUV. Additionally, we have 20 gals. to use in the lawn mower. I may go to the store this afternoon and stock up on pork chops, rib eyes, ground round, maybe a roast beef. It's not like they will go to waste, and their price today is likely as low as it will be for a very long time, possibly forever.
I figure my law practice will suffer to the choking point. People can't pay attorney fees in the hard times to come. It may be time to sell the office property and rent some space in town.
Thanks, Trump. And Bibi!

Good morning Lookout, et. al. Thanks for the WW & OT, LO.
We topped up the car yesterday I might top up the truck today. First day of spring, tons to do, and all this shit now already on top of it. Need to contemplate what other prices will skyrocket nad maybe stock up on more things. My week cooking is over, now I'm stuck with the dishes instead.
So far we have a billion dollar murder, it will cost way more before it is done, most expensive kill in world history for sure. The cost of all the hardware we're expending, salaries, fuel and more will, by the time this is over will probably be enough to feed the world for a few years, absolute madness, especially since there is no net gain and nothing accomplished except making the world see more clearly what a menace we are and really, really unifying and pissing off the Iranians.

Seems to work pretty good.
Bladeon is a Japanese-inspired rolling knife sharpener featuring dual-grit diamond technology with 400-grit restoration discs and 1000-grit honing discs designed to sharpen kitchen knives, chef knives, and outdoor blades through a simple rolling motion guided by magnetic angle supports at 15 degrees and 20 degrees.

Hmmm, just happens to be sharpening time here, usually
takes a lot of the day. I use an old SpyderCo thingus with 2 sets of triangular cross section stones held vertically at angles to each other, requiring many, many strokes per knife. Very much like a whetstone and, of course, angle control is all in the eye-hand-wrist coordination. The reviews for that gadget you have sound like if would greatly reduce the time and effort without sacrificing and possibly improving quality of job.
Looks like something I just have to try, I guess. Thanx for the tip

What you're dealing with is a religion. Like all such
belief systems, once it and the inherent presumption of its inerrancy is thoroughly internalized it becomes a lens through which reality is viewed with the result that the "reality" viewed by the adherent conforms to that postulated by the religion and its precepts. Somdbody once pointed out that it is futile to attempt to argue somebody out of a belief (system) that they were never argued into in the first place.

low tide of enthusiasm
Yesterday was the busiest day of the year. Saturdays are my busy day anyway, but this one was the annual Rotary Club Crab Feed, at the veterans auditorium in the northeasterly part of our urban nightmare that calls itself by another name, denoting a sundowny history where white men faced little competition. As opposed to the opposite corner of the urban mass, where red lines contained the worst offenders throughout the 20th century and beyond.
As with pretty much all Saturdays, it was a Food Not Bombs picnic at the local large older Zoo containing park. In between these events I drove over to the 3 PM protest to visit Dan and Camille, two founding honchos of the most famous peace group in America, at least 20 years ago, it was.
Excusing myself for a dinner engagement, I wound up ready for crab legs, and the open bar.
Our table contained the mother and niece of my deceased cousin, who was killed in the Khobar Towers truck bombing 30 years ago. A very large plaque hangs in a water featured atrium above the other listed names of dead Gulf War veterans, so to speak, amid other honored veterans from other conflicts. As the emcees raised the audience for The Pledge, the prayer and the moment of silence, I held my tongue but considered what I would like to have said.
Mind you, this is a room filled with several hundred of the most conservative cowboy archetypes you can find.
Im not necessarily wise in my ways, but always driven to speak when felt necessary.
After the moment of silence and a quick reference to the solemn acts of unprovoked warfare and false pretenses, a fellow on the neighboring table started to chant "USA! USA! USA!"
this room was brutally loud before being silenced for the prayer etc, so the chant was clearly audible.
As was my response- "From the river to the sea".
Not because of my retort, but because ABSOLUTELY NOBODY JOINED IN on the USA USA jingo jango jingle,
the fellow at the neighboring table ceased almost immediately.
I hope this makes sense. It was the most encouraging, cathartic experience I have known since giving Jeb and GW the business on Larry King Live in 92.
Too late, of course, because the powers in play care nothing for their support or supporters.
But sweeter than sweet to see and hear it happen in that particular place.
It is nice when you can help others see...
That was a good story. Thanks for sharing it and the hope it conveys...that maybe most people don't buy this farce.
Whatta demockracy.

here. This will not end for a great while. Here's Alastair Crooke telling us this will be a protracted conflict. And as the Due Dissidence men stated in their podcast today, they killed the one individual -- Ali Khamenei -- who stood in the way of Iran becoming a nuclear power.
I do not know if Alastair Crooke is right to say, though, that the Democrats will insist upon a discussion of America's relationship to Israel. I have yet to see the Democrats behaving as anything other than as creatures of money.
A lot of speculation as regards the midterms in this video. I think I'd wait to see what the world map looks like in a few months before saying much about that topic. I wait to be persuaded that this is something other than a fight to the death. "They haven't really started," Crooke said.
