In the first place, both parties function on "donations" from corporate America and the cost of running 435 House Campaigns is in the hundreds of million bucks. At 20 bucks each from random Maga Hats, Scalise needs five million chumps to have any impact at all, let alone to outbid the Big Cigars.
In the second place, what is up with the explicit notion that money equals votes? All of these desperate cries for moolah assert that a blue edge in money equals red defeat. There is no respect for democracy in either major party -- but total unity among both scam operations about the power of advertising budgets to control the outcome of elections.
Why not just convert all political contests into a weigh in? Who puts the most gold on the scale wins? It would eliminate a lot of strife. And at least it would be honest.

For years, we do not have a democratic primary in my voting district, and usually have no democratic candidate on the ballot for the general election. So. if I vote in the primary, I am registered as a republican. That stopped all the hyperbolic begging for donations from the democrats, which read like and had the desperation of the crap you are now seeing from republicans.
Not enough difference in what they say and what they do to care anymore. The rich donor class will always prevail.

majority leader of? Speaker of the House is the reprehensible Mike Johnson, and Senate Majority Leader is John Thune.
What these solicitations are really for, I do believe, is compiling voter lists.
