Tuesday morning the camera club had this month's meet-up at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA)

Beautiful pictures!
My niece had her wedding reception in the Gem and Mineral section of the Museum of Natural History in Houston. It was such a wonderful place to wander around in waiting for the reception of begin.
A bit of history from my place in Central Texas. There is a rock there called Llanite and is found only in Llano county. Llanite is a porphyritic rhyolite with distinctive blue quartz and reddish microline feldspar phenocrysts. When you find what you think is Llanite, you will see the distinct blue quartz in the stone. Found a piece in my yard one day.
Like to collect interesting rocks but none so beautiful as ones you took pictures of. Thanks for sharing.
