It's about time

I have too many damn clocks!
Changing them twice a year is becoming tiresome. Each one has a different method and my fat fingers are a challenge when trying to hit little buttons, especially two at the same time.
I have seven in the house including my watch, and another four in various vehicles, with two in one vehicle alone.
In the Leaf, I have one on the dash and one on the radio. So I leave one on DST and the other on regular time so everything is right year round.
I would rather they end DST nationwide for good, like Arizona. If we could just convince Musk it wastes taxpayer money it could happen.
I won't hold my breath.
The Russian SMO is working it's magic in de-militarizing and de-Nazifying not only Ukraine, but the EU, NATO, and America itself.
After eighty years infesting our halls of power we've had enough of them.
And it should go without saying the War Department's offense spending is where the greatest savings can be found.
It's time to cut the military budget.
The thread is open.

for stopping the clock change
and getting the US out of NATO
and gutting the Pentagon budget
USAID is but a blip on the expenditure graft
but it is a start
next-up is to shut down the Ukie grift
and disengage with the EU
brighter days ahead?

Thanks for the OT!

but fraught with danger to the Trumpster. 30,ooo generals looking out for their own self interest is not something you FAFO without a plan.
I'd start with closing military bases overseas and bring all those troops home to surround the white house and string along the southern border.
Follow up with bringing home our surface fleet and either cutting them up as scrap before they wind up on the bottom of the ocean.
The Ukie grift pales in comparison to the 80 year Israel grift.
Trump will have to sneak up on all of this, surrounded by hardened solid block walls.
Have a great day and thanks for the post.

in 2022 to adopt Daylight Saving Time year-round. Of course the bill was written to require permission from Congress, and for 4 other mountain states to go as well, before anything would actually happen here. So, we will continue the semiannual clock-twiddle for the foreseeable future.

I actually prefer DST- the extra hour of daylight after the workday is much more palatable then having an extra hour before work. But I can and will adapt to whatever we settle on, if we could just friggin' settle.

However, staying out of any new wars probably outweighs poking at this sort of thing. So I don't expect to hear much about action on it, unless it is needed as a cover story/shiny object to distract us from something more sinister...

watch with a rotating bezel. For a few years I kept it set to UTC and set the bezel to 8 during standard time and 7 during stupid time so prompt me how much to subtract to get from real time to clock time. It was a cumbersome system in a lot of ways, especially the am/pm thing (it would've been much better if it were a 24 hour "clock") I also eventually lost the watch.

Years ago I got a projection clock for the bedroom that has a regular screen, but also projects the time onto the ceiling. It sets itself to the time signal, so it is always right. Mu computer does the same and my fitbit ether syncs to the 'puter or the source, and my phone, tablet and chromebook all do likewise. The kitchen, however, is a disaster. Old school battery powered wall clock, nuker, coffee maker and stove are all manual. Not sure about the truck and car, both have android auto screens and maybe other clocks too. I'll have to check what time they show and whether they need adjustment when no phone is hooked in.

I love the way all the euro types say putin can't be trusted, especially with respect to ceeasefires and such, which is pure projection on their part, since they've actually entered into agreements with advance intention of breaking them. Asswipes all. Today's europress is all about the huge Ukie drone attack on Moscow, but tails to mention that they weere, as usual, targeting civilians, apartment buildings, office buildings and the like, a war crime and outright state terrorism.

be well and have a good one

There was little damage, and the attack was seen as an act of desperation during a Ukrainian retreat due to defeat.

Some of the drones used in the attack were purchased at toy stores. It's clear that Russia needs to develop better defense against toy-store drones.

Russia will not respond in kind with attacks on Ukrainian civilians, which is not only prohibited, but is especially unthinkable while the war is clearly winding down.

A few weeks ago, Dmitry Orlov summarized Where Russia Stands in regard to its goals under the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. Here's an excerpt of that summary:

It is not too early to say that the operation appears to be a success.
The main goal of the SMO was to protect Russian people on former Ukrainian territory, who had no wish to accept neo-Nazi ideology of the Banderite junta.

(Stepan Bandera is the great Ukrainian hero celebrated by the Kiev regime. He is, in fact, an assassin, a terrorist sentenced to death, sentence then commuted to life in prison in Poland, who was then freed when Nazi Germany invaded Poland. He then worked with the German Nazis to perpetuate acts of genocide against Jews, Poles, Russians and other minorities that shocked even the German Nazis themselves. After the war he fled to Munich, where he was eliminated by a KGB agent.)

In February of 2022 the Ukrainian troops, lavishly equipped and outfitted by NATO, were poised to launch a genocidal attack against the city of Donetsk and surrounding densely populated, industrialized heartland of the Donbass region. This attack was successfully thwarted. This was Russia's first victory in SMO.

Since then, the goal of protecting the Russian population has been only partially met with the incorporation of formerly Ukrainian Crimea, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson into the Russian Federation. Although Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson remain under partial Ukrainian occupation, there is steady progress being made in liberating them. Over the past year, Russian troops have secured control over 5000 km2 of territory and, most importantly, have pushed Ukrainian artillery far enough away from Donetsk and its suburbs, mostly putting an end to the shelling of civilians by Ukraininan terrorists. There remain other regions of the former Ukraine, including, minimally, Nikolaev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Sumy and Kiev, that have been Russian for anywhere between three and eleven centuries. Their ultimate disposition remains to be determined and the goal of protecting the Russian population is at this time only partially achieved.

A major goal of the SMO was to prevent the Ukraine from joining NATO and to stop NATO expansion toward Russia's borders and its encroachment on Russian territory. Recent statements by the second Trump administration indicate that it has finally dawned on the Washingtonians that the Russians will never allow the Ukraine to join NATO and the plan to allow it to do so has been cancelled. This is a major breakthrough.

A very important aspect of the SMO was in preventing any direct military conflict with the United States. This appears to have been achieved with the restoration of normal diplomatic relations between the Russian Federaiton and the US initiated by the Trump administration. The world was, for a time, in considerable danger of nuclear escalation thanks to the incompetence of the Biden administration and its senile leader, and it could have been made much worse if he were replaced by the mentally retarded Harris, but the world appears to have dodged that bullet, for now.

A stated goal of the SMO was denazification. The legalistic interpretation of this term is to make sure that Nazis are no longer in control of the Ukrainian government. But that could have been a temporary condition, given how easy Ukrainian politics has been for external forces (US State Dept., USAID, NED, CIA...) to manipulate. What Russia's armed forces have achieved instead was a physical rather than a political solution and thus a permanent one: the physical elimination of most Ukrainian Nazis. They are mostly dead and, given the Ukraine's absolutely dismal birth rate and rapid depopulation, unlikely to regenerate in any great numbers. Nevertheless, there remains a large number (tens to hundreds of thousands) of Ukrainian Nazi war criminals for Russia to round up and process. Just as with the Nazi hunters after World War II, this process could take many decades.

@Pluto's Republic
Eliminating as many Nazis as possible, even when they run.
Israel spent decades hunting down hiding Nazis across the world, and continue today.
I see NO reason Russia cannot do the same. Hunt them down like dogs and bring them to justice, no matter what position they hold or held.
Thanks for the post.

So far, the only clock we have manually re-set was in one vehicle. I might correct the clock in my little sports car.
The pain in the ass has been my failure to adjust to the change. I haven't lept well since the change, and have felt tired at times.
The one click I would love to see re-set is the nuclear clock, but I am not in charge of that, unfortunately.
Thanks for the OT, friend!
