Chrstmas Eve morning
Well here it is, another Christmas Eve morning. What have I forgotten that I have to run out and take care of or buy? I think I've done everything that involves driving somewhere. What is left to do is moving 20 folding chairs and a couple of folding tables from the storage shed and start getting them warmed up. Nothing worse than sitting on ice cold steel chairs for Brunch.
We are foregoing dinner this year because so many of the family have to work Thursday. So Brunch it is with baked ham, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and tater tot casserole. For the lunch crowd , home made Christmas tamales, baked ham sandwiches on home made bread. Buttermilk pie, home made banana bread, and cake for dessert.
Oh, and croissants with a Spirited Apricot-Cranberry Sauce topping ( H/T usefewersyllables, and thank your wife for me).
Finish the afternoon off with a spirited White Elephant gift bonanza. Should be about 30 of us.
Everyone should be home by dark, but a heavy rainstorm is forecast for most of the day.
Here's wishing everyone here at Caucus 99% a happy yuletide celebration and safe time.

Yesterday evening, in the grey low hanging rain threatening dusk, cresting a hill that separates our little "valley" from the bay I saw a light --- it was the low fuel light, so I will go out today, in the rain, to go fill up. (Always keep your vehicle well fueled in case all hell breaks loose, ya know.) Just finished a large breakfast of sourdough pancakes, so will skimp on lunch and await whatever special meal my wife has planned for thi special evening and indulge in the mulled wine she plans to make. Mulled wine is one of the world's two best uses for merlot, the other being sangria, (once we weren't paying attention we wound up with a couple bottles of reserve merlot from one of our wine clubs). W00t, one down!

About those death penalty pardons...
Living out every remaining day in prison is the penalty of death in prison. 24/7 confinement, restrictions on movement, food, heat, cooling, access to friends and family, entertainment, information, and lack of privacy and safety. Prison for all your life is a punishment every split second of every day.
All Biden did was eliminate the dread of the injection. Now, the dread every moment they are still alive.
I am anti-death penalty. Period. If a person was wrongfully convicted, they can remain alive and overturn their conviction. Life without parole gives them a chance, and for the guilty fucks, just punishment. Nobody should kill except in self-defense. A malfunctioning government has no business righteously killing anybody, neither in prison, nor in war.
