Carbon taxes are at least as unimportant
and overhyped as the Keystone XL pipeline. The climate change mitigation movement needs to demand real climate change mitigation, and not the fake stuff that the Powers That Be have been peddling so far.

I know from imperialism... NATO is many things, but I wouldn't call it that.
Still, the best way to deal with Russia (and other petrostates) is to make their oil worthless. But until we do that, I think we are stuck with nato. But the European member states should pick up more of the tab. Including my other country. The USA is funding European social programs instead of its own, which is insane.

I think Los Angeles will feel the Bern
Most people I know are for Bernie (or at least like him), and that includes people who are completely apolitical or Republican. I've only seen two yard sign/bumper sticker that for this election that wasn't Bernie (one was a Rubio and one was a Clinton). Turnouts at barnstorms and phone banking has been strong and there will be a big multi-thousand person march/canvassing/phone banking event on Sunday which I'm super excited for! I think the L.A. area will be very good for Bernie (as will S.F.). I suspect that among Democratic-leaning military members he might also have an edge, which will be good in San Diego.
