to allow more Humanitarian aid in to Gaza or risk losing
military aid.

This is the second 'warning' and puts a deadline in 30
days (in other words after the elections). What a crock.
How many more will starve in a month?

Even if food got to the children today their lives have already been ruined because of lack of nutrients needed during their growth period.

I saw a picture of a baby yesterday with a huge head and tiny, scrawny legs. It tore my heart.

A chilly 42F this AM. Fall has arrived, but it is back in the 80's next week. Don't like the Alabama weather? Wait 15 minutes.

Have the sweet potatoes under covers to get a couple more weeks of growth before we dig them. Last evening was cloudy, but this evening we're headed to the West brow of the mountain to see the comet.

I turned on the heater at the office. I wanted to get the smell of burned rat hair, which always accompanies the first use of the season, over and done before clients show up.
I managed to have 3 hearings set at the same time tomorrow. The legal term of art applied to that situation is "cluster fuck".
Oh, well, the judge will insist on setting a time limit on them.
It is strange that the US has set a 30 day period for Israel to get humanitarian aid to Gaza. Until then, Gazans can starve, die of thirst, die from lack of health care, and I guess we think that is fair to Israel. And, as am added fairness bonus, they will get money military aid, and some soldiers.
How could Israel turn that down?

1/2 hour around 8:30. Vacuumed up a ton of leaves just out of front yard, will do back tomorrow. A bit worn out from trip and now have fall chores and about 50 pounds of mail - it's ridiculous.

Saw somebody quoting somebody to the effect that the Ukie war will end when the US says it will. Well Duh! Thanx for the Muse - ic.

our first snow of the season Friday night into Saturday. The forecast is toggling back and forth between the low temp dropping below freezing late Friday night or not, so if there are flakes it will be mixed with rain. But we haven't really had a decent frost yet, so that will be the first real wintry note hereabouts.

I put fresh all-season tires on the car last week, at ruinous prices, so I'm now content and ready for the snow to fly. Bring it on- I'm looking forward to sitting in front of the fire in the fake fireplace and sipping an Adult Beverage one more time.

I'm all for flexible thinking to solve life difficulties. But this

President Biden updated President Zelenskyy on his efforts to surge security assistance to Ukraine over the remainder of his term in office. Today, the President announced a $425 million security assistance package for Ukraine that includes additional air defense capability, air-to-ground munitions, armored vehicles, and critical munitions to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs. In the coming months, the United States will provide Ukraine with a range of additional capabilities, including hundreds of air defense interceptors, dozens of tactical air defense systems, additional artillery systems, significant quantities of ammunition, hundreds of armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, and thousands of additional armored vehicles, all of which will help to equip Ukraine’s armed forces. President Zelenskyy updated President Biden on his plan to achieve victory over Russia, and the two leaders tasked their teams to engage in further consultations on next steps.

The leaders committed to intensify security assistance planning alongside international partners in order to ensure that Ukraine has the equipment it needs to prevail. As part of this effort, in November 2024, President Biden will host a virtual leader-level meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, where the leaders will coordinate with international partners on additional assistance for Ukraine.
