Granted, this 'hollow' day is about kids and books but thought I would run with it.
What is magic to you? Could be something deep or superficial. Varies.
Could go on about the pre-christian religion of Wicca. Point is magic has been with us for
several millennia. Personal practice is fringe on a good day. Can feel it in the 'vibes'
of interaction. In other words magical power exists within many of us.
Casting spells is as easy as a casual meeting of eye contact.
Some basic understandings are exchanged in quick glimpses.

The fortune teller says...
Excuse me, I mean the weather forecasters say, for my local area tomorrow, 50+ mph wind (gusts?) anyway tropical storm warning, projecting 2.5 inches rain. The local spaghetti models show a big bend landfall on the other side of Florida. Some broadcasts from other regions still showing a couple of lower probability tracks as well going toward Jacksonville (bad for us). Those are the CYA projections. The local government says they cleared the drainage canals and retention ponds. Almost exactly two years since Ian.
Except for those Florida Gulf coast areas under a hurricane warning the whole state is under a tropical storm warning because the wind field is said to be very large.
Cleaned up the loose stuff out in the yard, put the small flower pots in the garage etc. If sustained winds are 50 or lower, I won't board the windows. If it changes course, I will. Glad I cut down the trees last year. They said flooding won't be a threat this time for us. I hope the fortune tellers are right. Didn't sandbag the house (so far).

Counting our blessings so far. FSU students were told to go home while it's still possible. Gainesville won't be as bad, but I wouldn't want to be there tomorrow either.

Hurricane coming
My county is right on the outskirts of where it's supposed to land. It's already rained this morning and the weather is at least 15 degrees cooler than usual. They've cancelled school for tomorrow. I have an appointment with pain management tomorrow but that is to the west so it shouldn't be affected. Today I'm just going to pick up sticks, fill up my gas tank, and get prepared.

Been out cleaning all the weeps and ditches. They're calling for 6-8" of rain in the next couple of days.
I hope all our FL friends suffer minimal impact!
What is magic? How about putting a seed in the ground and seeing it grow to a mature plant. Sure seems like magic anyway!
Fall colors are beginning to blush. Wildflowers are electric this year and all the rain will plug in more.
