that Crooks was shot before Trump was, a more visual proof there was a second shooter.
Reports out last night and this morning suggest part of the video was doctored, so the more we think we know, the less we know.

Peeps, there's more to this story than meets the eye
For one thing, the default winner is AFAB (Assigned Female At Birth), raised female, has female equipment, but has something a little bit wonky about her chromosomes that causes something called "hyperandrogenism". That doesn't make her a "man" by any reasonable definition.
For another, just on the face of it, Olympic boxing should probably add more height/weight classes and be more strict about enforcing them. Putting a minimal welterweight (66 kg?) up against someone who just misses the cut for middleweight (74.5 kg?) doesn't look right and isn't right. (I looked up the weight class but don't have the fighters' actual stats. But visually it's a clear mismatch.)

Simple answers are often wrong,
especially when there are ideological axes being ground in the background. All the yak-yak about "male puberty" and "transgender" and yada yada yada is HORRIBLY MISTAKEN when it comes to Algerian boxer Imane Khelif.
ALGERIA DOES NOT ALLOW TRANSGENDERING, PERIOD END OF SENTENCE. What you are assigned at birth is what you are, and you are stuck with it.
So yeah, Imane Khelif is de facto female.
If you do a bit of actual research (get off the MSM, get off the scandal channels), you will find that a lot of the noise around this incident is just...noise. Unverified rumors repeated as "fact". Ungrounded speculation blown out of all proportion. Official and unofficial disinformation from sources that are, let's say, not unbiased.
Perhaps the basic question is, should boxing be an Olympic sport at all? (It is, at present, without an international federation, and has just under four years to come up with one or be suspended from 2028.)

There's a lot of highly irresponsible rumormongering running around the 'Net, and I strongly suspect that much if not most of it is being deliberately ginned up as a distraction from the awfulness of the US political situation. And yes, the Guardian is being irresponsible on this issue too.
The fact is, we don't really know why the International Boxing Association "disqualified" Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu‑ting of Chinese Taipei (Taiwan). There has never been an official announcement of exactly what "test" they allegedly "failed", nor exactly what they were tested for. The "chromosome" beeswax seems to have been leaked by the IBA president (did you notice he's Russian?) to the Russian "news" agency TASS, which has a very obvious bias. And it was not very long after that, that the IOC stripped the IBA of its Olympic authority (which is why the IOC, and not the IBA, is running Olympic boxing).
The whys and wherefores of the IOC's decision appear to involve a long history of corruption on the part of the IBA, and an ongoing increase in Russian influence on the association (up to and including substantial funding from Gazprom).
Given all that we do not know, the "test" might have been "defeating Russian athletes while not being Russian". Do you think they wouldn't?

If men's competitive sports were
being impacted by trans that have an unfair competitive advantage, the issue would be tackled and solved quickly. But it's only women's competitive sports that are being disrupted and for all the advances, women and their sports remain second class.
That complaint does not apply in THIS SPECIFIC case
and just feeds back into the wild and irresponsible rumormongring.
FACT: Neither Khelif not Lin is trans. They are both cis women, AFAB.
The IAB has also admitted that neither woman was tested for testosterone levels - but has not said what they were tested for. We don't know, and can't know until such time as there is an official release of information, whether the "test" was anything more than a gut-level feeling on the part of the (Russian, remember?) IBA president that "women that ugly can't be real women".
As someone who could never be called beautiful, and hardly even "pretty", I vehemently resent such a sexist attitude.

It's also not nearly as simple as that, which is why the IOC discontinued using chromosome tests quite a few years back. (Did you know they had done so?) Nowadays they test for banned substances, testosterone levels (female athletes only), and things that DO make a difference.
The ONLY source for the claim that Khelif and Lin "have XY chromosomes" is the Russian president of the IBA, in an interview with TASS. Bear in mind that the IBA has been so corrupt for so long that the IOC finally had to boot them out of the Olympics - so the IBA's credibility is, to put it mildly, suspect.
