Another 'Eh'?
The title of my last open thread post, 'Eh', kinda fits for this post too. Biden quits, 'Eh'. Kamala Harris replaces, 'Eh'? Who the heck is that? I mean, I know who she is, and that she was born Black, Indian/Asian, and female. These are all reasons many of my more 'liberal' family are ok with her, despite the fact that her time as VP has been far from inspirational to me. These reasons don't mean so much to me because members of the ruling class can come in all races, colors and gender. They don't have much in common, besides race, color and gender, with members of the non-ruling class. And we all know that!

It turns out, chimps have a 'snappy' conversational style, like humans. Somehow, I am not surprised that chimps in the wild chat with each other. It's neat to know that they use hand gestures and facial expressions, like we humans do, as they chat.
Also researchers using AI and other programs have discovered that sperm whales have a 'phonetic alphabet' and other 'sophisticated structures' they use for communication. This is just a very small first step in learning about how these whales (and other animals) communicate, but it's a start and that is cool.

It’s been hotter than a…… here for weeks, but this morning we woke up to rain. A nice soaking rain with much cooler temps. Sam is outside in it because of course she is.
It’s not raining in Ogden just over the mountain. Weird.

There is bird song too. First time in days I’ve heard them. Not many, but another nice surprise. It’s in the low 70’s.

I'm loving the bird song we've been having...
About a week ago, maybe less, we went from very hot to quite cool. It was, and is, kinda weird. We've even had some misty sorta rain-like periods. And cloudy mornings. Not typical post July-4 weather for here, that's for sure. The birds and animals like it though, as do the plants, so I'm ok with that!

Good morning Sima, et. al. Our temps have been in
the hundreds, but barely. Also, not a breath of breeze. Our advertised temps are lower, but that's for the parts of town that get the Bay Effect, not for those of us that don't. This makes it hard to get too inspired to do too much outside stuff, including stuff in the garage. Nonetheless, life goes on, as they say. That said, tonight is leftovers, so I have all day to schlump around doing this, that and the other with zero enthusiasm. Lotsa busywork to do too, which further reduces enthusiasm. Ah well.
Some headline/bullet point post/article caught my eye, about Biden's promises for the rest of his term. At a glance I saw yada yada, civil rights (yah, sure), Gaza (uh huh) and some other stuff but nada ukie. So who omitted zelinsky's grift, Biden or the editor? Still no sign of any F-16s in ukietown per any of my usual sources. Rus still blowing up ukie military shit so replenish and upgrade needed muy soon now, I suspect.

I used to be able to take temps in the high 90s...
maybe even low 100's. Can't anymore. Got too used to the PacNW coastal environment and the northern British environment (both can be quite alike). So, much admiration that you are still doing even little chores in those temps. I can not imagine working in the garage under those temps.
I think all TPTB and their 'reporters' are omitting Zelenski's grift. Seems to be how things are run now. We'll 'sneak' into a world war that way. *gag*

Reminds me of the time I went on a horseback safari in South Africa. I was given a half-broke Appaloosa to ride. We were trotting through the jungle, and all hell broke loose in the trees overhead. We were under a huge baboon fight. They were jumping tree to tree, screeching, must have been 30 or more in the battle. My horse took off running, so I just let the bastard have his "head", since I couldn't stop him anyway.

That was awful to watch. Awful. I think we need to hunker down with our loved ones (Sam, Nikko, who and what ever) and pop some popcorn or open a bag of chips. But, I don't think there's enough popcorn in the world to supply us all until Nov 5!
