Recently George told Biden to cool it with the threats against the ICC for going after Netanyahu because his wife, Amal was one who recommended the arrest warrant. He says it’d be bad if she was sanctioned.

Clooney does not like Putin
Clooney has become Mr. Anti-Russia especially in Africa. One of his NGOs proposed secret arrest warrants for Russian journalists. Believe proposal was just a clerical error or sorts. I know he has spoken out against Russian mercenaries doing bad stuff in African countries. The mercs were supporting African militaries expelling French colonial troops and their proxies. Strange that.
I would bet that Putin is much more popular than Clooney in Africa.

Plausible take on Clooney's motivation
But based on my experience working for AFTRA and IATSE, I don't think the "Stars" need much inducement to campaign for the Democrats. It is a question of style. Everybody in the industry is obsessed about what everybody is talking about. Trump is not just Hitler, he is uncool. Being uncool is the bigger sin in Show Biz and everybody is talking about what a piece of shit he is.

I have to admit I'd no idea who clooney is
Had to google him, though the name sounded familiar. Then I had to follow the links to his wife who actually is impressive. No idea of specifics but she's obviously trying to do good in the world and is bright etc.
Putin really is a nasty piece of work. Not many like him left in the world, not in control of big countries.
Funny too to see how people land on the Trump/Biden scenario. There are only two choices, going with a third party protest vote simply gives half a vote to whoever you shouldn't have supported.
Trump seems to be polling at parity with the working class Hispanic vote of late, and college educated whites are moving towards Biden more than in 20. Both of those things make Trump not cool. Plus higher income breaks Democrat.
Black support for Trump seems to have doubled but is still in the pits. Going from 9 to 18% barely moves the needle. Enough to influence elections in say Michigan for instance but not enough to make Biden and the Dems uncool. In photo ops Biden is still surrounded by black people, like a Benetton ad from yesteryear.
I haven't been around much of late, dead heading the irises, plenty of extremist crazy on DK.
