Most people I know are peaceable, trying to get along and helping
their neighbors. That is heartening. I would guess it is the same in
most of the other nations in this world. Wanting a better future may
not be encouraged by the warmongers (war is peace doublespeak)

Palestinian death toll in Gaza climbs to 34,683

GAZA, May 5 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 34,683, said the Hamas-run health authorities in a press statement on Sunday.

It added that the Israeli army killed 29 people and wounded 110 during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 34,683 and injuries to 78,018 since the Palestinian-Israeli conflict broke out last October.

The statement noted that some victims remained under the rubble amid heavy bombardment and a lack of civil defense and ambulance crews.

Unicef says no aid has gone into Gaza for 24 hours
As we've reported, international aid agencies say the closing of the two main crossings into southern Gaza make it virtually impossible to assist civilians inside the enclave.

The UN says Israel is not allowing humanitarian workers access to the Rafah crossing, after taking control of the Gaza side of the border with Egypt.

The other main crossing, Kerem Shalom, was closed after a rocket attack by Hamas fighters over the weekend killed four Israeli soldiers in the area. Hamas then targeted the crossing in another attack on Tuesday morning.

Tess Ingram from the UN children's agency, Unicef, says "nothing has got into Gaza for the last 24 hours, which is absolutely devastating".

Ingram says Gaza is on a "precipice of a famine". "No aid coming in means that in a day or two, distribution of that aid will stop and as we'll we run out of supplies that remain in Gaza,” she tells BBC Radio 4's World at One programme.

How much of the new humanitarian zone in Gaza is damaged?
We've been reporting this morning on Israel's order to civilians in Rafah's east to evacuate the area and move to a new, expanded "humanitarian zone".

Much of that new zone, however, has previously been targeted in the conflict, and now lies in ruin.

In the map below, we've overlaid the new zone, shaded yellow, with the locations we know damage has occurred.

Israel says it needs civilians to evacuate from Rafah to enable it to target Hamas infrastructure in the southern town, which it believes to be the group's last stronghold.

what you are trying to do, I don't think another party will do the trick. The duopoly has an ironclad firewall against third parties. They have joined together (as if they were ever apart) to rig the system handicapping (kneecapping would be more accurate) any opposing party no matter what size they become.

The American people need to come together in 2024 and vote out every Democrat up for re-election down to the state level and even below. Total destruction of the Democrat Party, even if the result will be a government of all Republicans.

And these cowards live in a bubble. They apparently haven't thought of a way out of their bubble, even though practically everyone who attends a college or university in America knows they live in a bubble.

One obvious thing that could be done to rectify the mistakes that have been made so far would be to establish a non-genocidal political party outside of the Green Party, the Libertarian Party, and the various sectarian Marxist-Leninist parties.

The catch with the Green Party is that it has existed for far too long with too many safeguards against "outside intervention," which it has had to have to avoid infiltration by Democrats. This has resulted in a political party which stands aside when the Democrats worry about its existence too much. The party I have in mind would attempt to infringe upon the Democrats' turf claims.

The catch with the Libertarian Party is that it's running on "sovereign individualism" with no relation to the real life of Americans who need universal health care and things like that.

The catch with the Marxist-Leninist parties is that they are no longer running, and have become mere vessels for ideological purity.

So that's what we need.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) has called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials after Israel’s military seized control of the Rafah crossing on Tuesday.

Tlaib, the only Palestinian American in Congress, said with the ongoing incursion into the southern city of Rafah, there is “nowhere” safe for Palestinians in Gaza, and argued that Netanyahu will remain in his post as long as the conflict continues.

“I urge the ICC to swiftly issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials to finally hold them accountable for this genocide, as is obviously warranted by these well-documented violations of the Genocide Convention under international law,” Tlaib said in a statement Tuesday.

The Michigan progressive, who has been a vocal critic of Israel in Congress, also renewed calls for a cease-fire and to halt all military funding to Israel.

“It is now more apparent than ever that we must end all U.S. military funding for the Israeli apartheid regime, and demand that President Biden facilitate an immediate, permanent ceasefire that includes a complete withdraw of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the release of all hostages and arbitrarily detained Palestinians,” she said Tuesday.

I can't imagine being a student who, because of being present at a protest, is not allowed to graduate, still has to pay back their student loan, and with an arrest record, can't get hired at those types of jobs Ivy League grads typically get.
For better or worse, these protests will shape the lives of these students until they die.
