the bunkers for the ultrarich: As I've said before, I suspect that their carefully selected enslaved security goons will give them a couple of weeks of living like kings- until said goons can't stand the 24/7 bitching any more, as the Beautiful People discover that they stocked the wrong wine/cigars/ice cream/whores and they can't go to Starbucks and the air smells funny and worse yet the arugula is wilting. Horror.

The goons will then come to the realization that *they* can live like kings instead. Two weeks in, the lifeless carcasses of the original rich people will be flung over the walls of their compounds by their own muscle. This interim situation will then persist until a) the raging masses show up and b) the ammo runs out.

End result will be the same. I just find it perversely amusing that the rich people are very effectively breeding, training, and arming their own apex predators.

Meanwhile, when the SHTF: that place down the road that was all dug up for over 6 months, and now has fresh sod with a couple of J-shaped vent pipes sticking out of the ground? Find the one that is sucking, not blowing, and build your campfire under it. Or better yet, just empty a few cans of spray foam into it. For greater fun, find the hatches and put a few dozen big rocks on them- or weld them shut. And once again, the end result will be the same...

They need an armies worth of servants, since the can't actually do anything besides shift numbers around (which really makes one wonder why they are deemed so valuable in society). When the SHTF, whatever currency they used to have would be rendered meaningless. Whoever is the head of the army would take over, until they too were assassinated.

On another note, a few years back, I found the website to a construction company that specialized in bunkers, ultra high security estates. They emphasized how they kept secrecy by isolating all of the parts, so no single entity except the owner knew the whole picture. The architects would be subdivided/ would not know the location, the foundation crews would work on different ares but not the whole thing, etc.

Since rich people know nothing about home repair, how to wash clothes, how to cook...what are they imagining their safe house life to be like?
If I were their driver taking them to the bunker, I would insist they go in first.

People faced with certain death are not going to let a fully stocked bunker go to some asshole that might have caused the world’s destruction even if they get to live inside it. They might just slaughter the family because the supplies will last longer. Besides after the world ends who wants to take orders from someone just because they are richer?

I don’t think the bunker folks have thought this through. If people know that the parasites have built bunker systems then good luck getting to them from the airport. Unless they slide into them long before the event happens. And if the world ends by nuclear war those bunkers will become their graves. Why look forward to a future like that? I want to go out in the first blast.

Just learned that Boeing has extended its contract to test nuclear missile systems on the west shore of the Great Salt Lake. Not nuclear weapons, but the delivery system. Gee with all the Boeing news what can go wrong? Can you imagine what an 80,000 lbs bomb could do to a house? Sure you can. How many millions you ask? Close to $400 million. Just think of the dent that could put in the homeless problem.
