It doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican, if the other party wins then the country is doomed. Nor does it matter that the two presidential candidates are the most hated in American history.
The other guy is an existential threat, so that it's absolutely necessary that you vote for Democrat/Republican, and not demand that your party deliver on your basic needs. If the other guy wins then he/she will be an agent of Russia/China.
In my time travels I've discovered that this is also true in 2032 and 2036, except that it's even more important. It's unfortunate that there are no more primaries or debates or third parties, but those are not things that we can afford anymore.
The country has never been more polarized, according to the MSM. We are on the brink of civil war, according to the MSM. In fact, every part of society that is controlled by billionaires, whether its cable news, talk radio, or the political class agrees that the country is so divided that democracy probably won't survive.
Fortunately there is the military, which is engaged in a dozen wars around the world against terrorists, and we can all support them.

It's curious how so many people in the future are talking about the Fall of Rome.
