Hey all -
A newish thread. To keep from unraveling. Comic relief or some such.
What made you laugh the most in the 2023 calendar year?
Sometimes we have to laugh instead of crying, other times it can be a
release of emotion, turned fun.
One of the last posts from hecate had this image. Makes me chuckle.
Dark humor seems to be the better bet for me lately. Snark, sarcasm, satire,
parodies, ironic and surreal types all tickle the funny bone.
Besides this thread, what if funny to you?

Not a very good teller of jokes, although a good portion of life seems to be one lately.
The biggest joke lately is Blinky lecturing the world about human rights, democracy
and freedom. Where does this comedian get his skits? SNL is no longer cutting edge
but maybe the writers drifted into politics?

This definitely wasn’t a joke and there is plenty of evidence that shows that this is exactly what Rockefeller did. Humanity survived for thousands of years because doctors were using natural ways to treat illnesses. And rumors are that someone created a cure for cancer, but Rockefeller bought it and then he hid it way because the parasite wanted people to die horrible deaths so that the population didn’t get too large. Rockefeller and Ford were both eugenicists.

Death toll is 18 including 2 children. Russia sent over 150 missiles, but they said they targeted military targets and hit a warehouse full of mercenaries and a couple of airports and aircraft where some of the recent bombs on Russian warships came from. The civilian casualties in Ukraine came from their own missiles trying to shoot Russian ones down. Who knows who is telling the truth, but Ukraine civilian casualties are much lower than what Israel, America and its NATO goons have caused in the last 2 decades.
Oh yeah and all the places Blinken mentioned are just more lies from him.
Russia recently conquered a very fortified town where lots of the attacks on the Donbas came from. Ritter says that this is huge. And Russia has almost encircled Adveeka and the 47th brigade that is mostly made up of Nazi soldiers. They also say that Ukraine is almost out of weapons…which is funny because that’s what Biden has been saying about Russia for 2 years. Weird how every time he says that Russia shows him how big a liar he is…Biden also just said that maybe American troops will have to fight Russia.

I love dark humor. A few of my favorite movies in the genre are Death to Smoochy, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Ruthless People, and Very Bad Things.
A few dark humor cartoons.
I woke up this morning determined to drink less, eat right, and exercise.
But that was four hours ago when I was younger and full of hope.

....are all the formal predictions about the future coming down from every direction. Why so many predictions these days? Perhaps there is a Reader demand for something predictable since the West has stepped so far out of bounds in its own behavior in the world. This territory is uncharted.
In recent years, the unthinkable is suddenly commonplace. We've have Nazis running amok in the world, with US politicians cheering them on. The politicians are breaking their promises as fast as they make them. We see blatant crimes committed by the "good" guys, while the "bad" guys are expressing honorable values and showing respect and generosity toward all humanity. The liars of the media can't keep their lies straight, and the psychopaths in power have stopped pretending they are normal people. The masks are off. People who have strong political and social biases are finding it impossible to keep their prejudices to themselves. Meanwhile, in order to cover up the endless faux pas that are blurted on the news, the meanings of most political labels have been flipped on their heads, confusing every0one..
The Deeply Dumb faction on the right have concluded that political label they learned to hate in the past — has to be aligned with the Far Left. Thus Marxists, Nazis, Dictators, Socialists, Autocrats, Antifa, Anarchists, Cubans, Gloibalists, and Chi-coms have become the interchangeable villains of the Far Left. These same Dumbs admire gun runners, the Wall Street wealthy, the armed forces, government contractors, bad cops, tax dodgers, country-western entertainers, war-mongers, chicken hawks, devisive politicians, Preachers of the Profit-Cospel, their Zionist Overlords, and the official executioners of the Authoritarian State. There are no Leftist institutions to describe because a political Left opposition has never been allowed to form in the United States. Thus, there is no national shame, or guilt, or self-reflection in the US. There is no "Voice of the People," no formal consent, and no equality in justice.
But there has been a bumper crop of predictions this year about what happens next. Mostly idiotic. Largely based on fantasy projections and the daily propaganda. "What happens next?" is a big question in everyone's minds because the real events that have taken place (censored in public discussions) are things that the public has never really contemplated. This is particularly ironic here, because this website has talked non-stop for a decade about the reckoning the failed US Empire is facing for its crimes and betrayals. At the moment, all the magazines and Editorial Boards are dishing out their top ten predictions, completely unaware of the trap. Someone should really keep track of all this. These tired thinkers are revealing that they know absolutely nothing about how other cultures see the world. The only thing that the media mouthpieces of the Western press are able to see are Communist Spy Balloons hidden the the could overhead. And that's what I find comical.

Mars Bars, but I can't locate or replicate them. This, sadly, leaves me bereft of humor, be it acqueous or vitreous.
