Open Thread - 9/29/23 - Harvest Moon
Seems this year passed quickly since that last Harvest Moon. Age? Trying to hang on to life more intensely? Noticeably delaying the inevitable end as long as possible? The best thing out of the fast entry into the unknown eternity is to do it with some happiness until the end. And maybe a peace sign, or, maybe a raised fist, as you go into that dark night.
My latest dilemma is this:
If I participate in a crime committed by someone else, I am charged with the crime right along with the other person. Cops arrest you, and you rat me out as the person who told you where to score the dope. I am considered a dope dealer, too.
Now, as of September 1st, 2023, it is a felony for a custodian of a child not to release the child to the court ordered person that gets possession of that child. Not forever, necessarily, just weekend visitation between divorced or separated parents, governed by a divorce decree or other court order.
So, you are the Dad. Mom shows up for weekend visitation drunk or high. Dad must give the child to drunk or high Mom or face prison.
Now, the entire laws in re parent child are based on "best interest of the child". There are criminal laws on the books that charge you as a conspirator that endangered, harmed, or killed the child, and that fly in the face of the new laws that if you don't give the kid over to be endangered, harmed, or killed, you can go to prison. (Texas statues.)
Perfect example of damned if you do, damned if you don't. Call a cop, they walk away, "It's a civil matter."
Meanwhile, The Mavericks recently electrified and permanently infiltrated my brain. And I do not mind one bit. I hope I never get over it.
As I am writing this, Biden's impeachment inquiry magically misses the things for which the inquiry would succeed. Imagine that. Uni party, anyone?
Canada, which sucks, is revealing its' suckiness for the world to see. I did go to Banff for a couple of days years ago, but never had a reason to go back to explore other places and things. I would give them the pleasure of my tourist dollars now.
I toured Georgia and Armenia. Well, the next hot tour place the guide told me would be Azerbaijan. Uh...not now. Like Canada, f*ck that. I can't fund Nazis or genocidists. Maybe I am just too picky.
The full moon comes in a few hours. I hope you all have some love to express and receive, make it a special event. The best thing out of Canada:
I have been back and forth about the best concert I ever saw. Elvis. Bob Dylan. ZZ Top. Tom Petty.
The Mavericks.
Lyle Lovett.
Ran across this:
(I confess, Pavarotti, Beverly Sills, Rachmaninoff, etc...are in another category. I am talking non-classical stuff. And I thought I would die of a heart attack at the Rachmaninoff concert. That couple of hours was worth living and dying for.)
Well, while bathing, I learned scorpions can withstand hot water well, and walk on surfaces that are submerged. I learned these things by watching a scorpion closely while I was getting out of the bath tub after a nice bath. I came away unscathed. I tried to kill him, but wound up flushing him down the toilet.
Since any OT is about anything and everything, I say, let 'er rip!
Have a great weekend!

Good morning, y'all!
I hope none of you shared your bath with a 4 inch scorpion. Sincerely.
What's up? Any fun weekend plans? Did the moon inspire harvests?

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Good morning otc. I had just roughed out a stub OT for today
when this popped up. Been out of touch for a week, very good, no news is always refreshing. Trying to explain the Ukiestan fracas too those with no real knowledge of Rus history not so good, complicated by the tendency of USians to project the US and USian mindset of the need to own and rule or at least control the world onto all humanity and, in particular, Russia and China. Ah well.
Today is a glorious day in US history: On this date in 1789, the United States Department of War first established a regular army with a strength of several hundred men. I vaguely recall that some of the so-called Founding Fathers considered standing armies to be anathema, but there ya go. Several were down on foreign entanglements too, and that seems to be, in essence, all we do today.
Thanks for all the great tunes. Can't say what was best concert, not at all good at picking best of anything, it varies from day to day or minute to minute. One candidate I recall was New Year's Eve at Winterland, can't recall the year, with Hendrix opening, followed by the Airplane and then intermission with huge quantities of coolaid in great numbers of 30 gallon trash cans wheeled in and around on those big 4 wheel dollies, courtesy of the Airplane, and then the Dead played until morning.

Sounds like a great concert.
I had fond memories of the Janis Joplin & BB&HC and BB King concert at Winterland. Until I went looking for when it happened.

Just took a break from cleaning and my computer feed announced that the old Crypt Keeper Dianne Feinstein died. Only the good die young.
A fitting

Chuseok holiday weekend in Korea
It's the traditional harvest holiday based on the lunar calendar. I think it takes place on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. "Korean Thanksgiving."
I posted this video at another site, just to let the war mongers over there know, I'm still alive. It's for kids, but it has a clear general description of the holiday customs.
A traditional Chuseok table is shown and described in the latter half of the video. Songpyeon, the half moon rice cakes are typical Chuseok fare. I see they have chestnuts as well that would be roasted. (This is a traditional treat from before the age of candy in Korea). I wouldn't be surprised to see tteok another kind of sweet rice treat. The favorite fruits of Koreans, large pears, persimmons; also pine nuts. For veggies gosari (ferns), spinach, gobo, (a root). I see they have dried mackerel on the table. For the main course after the ancestral ceremony, meat dishes, and soups. The soups are according to local taste. One is doranguk, taro soup with meat broth. Fish jeon, a kind of grilled fish fillet dipped in egg batter. Of course, there would be various pickled veggies, starting with kimchi, and bindaetuk, Korean pancakes with a bean based flour and veggies.
I checked all this with my local authority, Ms. So.
It's been a year since the Hurricane Ian disaster. Time flies...

DiFi died, just saw a headline to that effect, NYT so not read.
This means that Pelosi doesn't get to use party machinery to select her replacement which was the whole point of her not retiring, and Newsome will get to make the call, which is certain to be somebody not wanted by Pelosi, most likely a black female, which means, quite possibly Lee, which then gives her a leg up on Chuckie the Shoom come election time. Feinstein was a remarkable woman
I have a lot of remarks I want to say, but I will hold my tongue. Well except that she made a whole lot of millions of dollars whilst she was in office which seems to show how much she worked for we the people.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
I once mentioned her failure to represent her constituents
to a low-level DemoParty person who pointed out that she most certainly did, one just had to understand who she thought her constituents were; big corps, big businesses, big money and other powerful players, regardless of whether or not they were from Cali.

Feinstein, if not for an assassin's bullet, may not have advanced further than the SF Board of Supervisors. There weren't enough of her constituents in SF by the 1970s. (She ran and lost twice for mayor.) George Moscone would have dominated SF politics for a long time.
So undignified for a very old and ill person to die in office. So disrespectful of voters and a democracy. Better to end one's career on a high note instead of a becoming a senile joke.

Unfortunately
I don't know when it started, but it was clearly before the current, more openly IdPol times. For nearly a century, there was unofficially a "Jewish seat" on Scotus, starting in 1939 w Felix Frankfurter iirc. Then there was a black seat, Thurgood Marshall to Clarence Thomas.
In Newsom's case, he had been pressured by black leaders in the state to replace Kamala with another black woman, but instead checked another box, the Latino one with Alex Padilla. Then, to make up for refusing the black community, or its leaders, he promised to name a black woman in the event of another senate opening occurring.
My recollection is that Biden was pressured by Clyburn to name a black woman as his VP, and later to nominate one for a Scotus opening.
The IdPoling is already at cringeworthy levels for me. Time to give it a good long break.
I am more accepting of it in the judiciary.
Lawmakers, nope. If the appointed person to an office is not the best qualified person in the field, then they shouldn't be appointed.

but the confirmation should never have gotten that far. Should have been more like Nixon's two unqualified nominees or GHB's unqualified nominee.
Did you see the movie Marshall with Chadwick Boseman? After seeing the movie, Marshall's widow said that Boseman is a very attractive man, but not as attractive as my Thurgood.
No, I did not see it.

I know about
Cardozo to Felix Frankfurter in 1939, who served until 1962. JFK then named his great Labor Sec'y, Arthur Goldberg, to replace him. One piece I've read said that it was during this time that the slot began to be called "the Jewish seat".
In a sneaky maneuver, LBJ convinced Goldberg to step aside with the promise that he would name him UN Ambassador to get some seasoning so that in a few yrs he could be in position to go on LBJ's ticket and become the first VP in history. But the real reason was that Johnson wanted him out so he could put his Jewish fixer pal Abe Fortas on the Bench. This was done in 1965. Fortas served only 4 yrs, forced out by what passed for scandal in those days.
The "Jewish seat" line of justices continued until 1970 when Nixon named non-Jewish Harry Blackmun. Bill Clinton revived the line with a Steven Breyer pick in the early 90s. Breyer retired and was replaced by Jackson, the black female Justice, whose first name I do not have, again ending the line.
I think I have all that right.
Thanks!

A great read by IM Doc from Naked Capitalism
AKA: A midwestern doc on substack
He is describing what he is seeing in his medical practice in regards to the Rona and the jabs. It’s not pretty.
The anger is mounting and I just cannot see how this ends well at all.
The other thing he points out is how many doctors are retiring because of the BS required by insurance companies and because of what they have been seeing around the Rona rollercoaster the last 3 years.
It’s very interesting to see who is getting infected and sick now. The truth is coming out and whoa to those who lied.
Yves says she thinks the jabs worked during the Delta phase because most unjabbed died then the jabbed, but remember that no one was considered totally jabbed until 2 weeks after their 2nd dose. So even though they were jabbed they weren’t considered jabbed. There should have been a category for that group, but alas it helped drive up the fear porn.

I am asking for this just one more time.
To the CDC FDA and Pharma companies.
Announced in the past month since the new CDC director came on board was at least a slight acknowledgement of the credibility problems along with a push to gain back trust and be more transparent.
I beg each of you for the sake of the entire healing profession going forward to do something that would be the most transparent of all.
Release every scrap of raw data. Anonymized and in its raw form. Cutdowns and summaries and biased studies that you have been releasing are just not going to cut it anymore if you want to regain trust. Release the raw data. No more 75 years and biased summaries. Let armies of epidemiologists and medical stasticians in every university get out their pencils and pore over it. Let them publish and publicly discuss and debate their findings. It is the only way. This is the way of American medicine for generations. When we all know the great minds have evaluated and concluded and most importantly debated, we will lose so much of our angst.
We need answers to questions urgently out here on the front lines. What are the risk benefit analyses for every demographic? It appears the Europeans have done this and concluded no one under 65 should get a booster. Release the raw data. We can then determine instantly what is the correct course.
What is the true incidence of all these side effects and problems? What age groups and demographics are being more affected? Release the data. Let all of our experts be involved in looking over it.
Are the vaccinated more likely to be infected? It sure seems that way from my experience. Do we see some kind of imprinting happening? Release the data.
Are these shots currently helping hospitalization? Or do we have some kind of healthy vaccinee bias? Release every scrap of raw data. The issues will be debated and we will have a much clearer picture.
I would guess there is about 10-15% of the population who are going to line up for these next boosters. That is it. I would guess 70% are inhabited with varying degrees of distrust, anger, disbelief, frustration. I would add even hate. That is what I deal with every day. And now it is spilling over into not just other vaccines but all kinds of other medical interventions. I have never dealt with this in my life.
Please do what you said you wanted to do to regain trust. Release the raw data. Admit past mistakes. Talk to people like they are adults. Knock off all the ridiculous pandering advertising. To the FDA in particular. Apply this to all the other drugs you are approving. We have not just had flimsy regulatory maneuvers with Covid. We cannot allow any more Aduhelm like disasters.
In my past not long ago, I have in person and up front seen the CDC in action. I was so proud to be an American doctor during those times. How I would love to be able to say that again…..
There are many people who are doing what the health agencies are refusing to do and it’s not looking good for those who have taken the jabs and especially for those who have taken as many as they could. But of course their work is being ignored.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
Of all my concerns about the
Covid-19 "vaccine," I never had a heightened risk to contracting Covid-19. And that may not even be true, but an artifact of vaxxed people believing they were fully protected. We did know shortly after the introduction of the vaccine that it wasn't protective for contracting only reduced the severity of the illness.
The Sis and bil went on a month long, northern seas cruise. Most of the passengers were elderly and most likely vaxxed. Bil contracted Covid and then Sis got it. Only a few days to recuperate. Then bil contracted it a second time and Sis demanded a separate room. Both fine after that as were all the other passengers that got sick. Except for the three that required a med-evac. The cruise staff all wore masks as soon as the first passenger became sick. Cruise doctor told Sis that they accept that it's something they have to live with.
Bruce Springsteen has cancelled the remainder of his 2023 tour due to peptic ulcer. Understand that he fully supported the vaccine, but he has contracted Covid four or five times.
Lots of excess deaths,
Man, I wish everyone the best, and best health, vaxxed or not.
We are actually a very unhealthy population. Any dr. I visit for anything is just gobsmacked I do not take prescribed medicine, that I have no verifiable condition to warrant it. They actually smart off at me about that. I can't make them money, cant help them reach their percentage goal for the pharma bonus.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." ---- William Casey, CIA Director, 1981
And why wouldn’t they think that they were
vaxxed people believing they were fully protected.
protected when the authorities had been telling them that the jabs offered 95% protection? We weren’t told that they would keep us from getting very sick or that they would keep us out of hospital.
Biden, Fauci and a ton of other people said that once you get jabbed you are an end point of the virus. But of course once people started getting jabbed they still got infected and transmitted the virus. Here’s the timeline:
And yet we’re still being told that the vaccines are effective. Pfizer admitted in 2021 that they never tested it for effectiveness. And if the vaccines are only effective at keeping people out of hospital then they should be considered a treatment and not a vaccine. But numerous studies are showing that the ones who are now getting sick are the most jabbed and they are the ones who are getting hospitalized more. Sorry, but I’m not allowing history to be rewritten on why the whole damn world needed to be vaccinated.
Another reason why they got away with saying that it was the unjabbed who were dying was because of the shell game hospitals played. Some only accepted proof of vaccination if people got them inside their hospital system even if people showed proof of getting jabbed elsewhere.
This whole saga stinks to high heaven and I hope that one day the rotten truth comes out.
If you’re interested in the way that hospitals determine jab status and what else I wrote about you can look at this website that has links to what medical personnel are seeing in the hospitals and in the jabbed patients in the first paragraph.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
Anyone with a bit of scientific literacy
would have recognized that those initial claims couldn't have been facts because there hadn't been enough time and therefore trials to prove the claims. By the early 1960s TPTB (governments and corporations) had figured out that an educated population wasn't good for their interests. So, dumbing down and underfunding schools succeeded in dumbing down generations without any parental and student awareness because children still spent as many years attending school.
Americans, probably humans in general, are resistant to change that is healthful or helpful. At the same time, Americans are easily persuaded by snake oil salespersons and suspicious of government, academics, etc. I'm old enough to recall when automobile seat belt mandates were enacted and the resistance. The fury over switching to unleaded gas. The evidence was clear for both changes and many had made the change years before the mandates. People continue to defy seat belt mandates and DUI laws. With tragic results -- but fewer such tragedies then before the mandates.
Hollowing out US institutions over the past forty plus years (in favor of ore debt and lower taxes for the haves who have only gotten wealthier) made us uniquely vulnerable to a unique and particularly virulent virus. Few of the best and brightest biological scientists worked in public health; they were with corporations and the high pay they offered. Fauci has always been better at self-promotion and politics than science. Should have been retired decades ago. Instead he was the biggest voice and squelched better voices. (No, those better voices weren't within the alternative CT communities. They either don't exist or are introverts that are never encouraged to speak up regardless of their knowledge and skills.)
Stay with me because I'm trying to explain why my thoughts, assessments, and opinions on Covid 19 and the "vaccines" are so different from yours. IMHO it's important to remain mindful of the evolution of this pandemic and how information was developed and disseminated. From the earliest reports from China, it was clear that the virus spreads easily and serious illness and death rates were high. It also didn't seem to discriminate between younger and older populations. (In the earliest days that was more true than later on.) The dominate US sentiment at that point was "we're fine" and the minor position was panic. As imo panic is always a poor response, but the complacency disturbed me. The first actionable key was nailing down the means of transmission. From a public health perspective that meant we then had tools to slow down the transmission (flatten the curve). That wasn't promulgated (will leave for a separate discussion), and instead the public panicked over the unavailability of Covid 19 tests. Another CDC screw up but its value was more for accurate data collection than preventative or treatment. But Americans love medical tests and were furious over not getting one which created a panic.
"Letting it rip" (the stupid public response position) overwhelmed hospitals and ultimately led to the lock-downs (effective but at high cost). The anger over that facilitated the easy sell of the untested "vaccine" when it became available and was paid for by the federal government. Compounding the institutional mistakes, there was no organized data collection (short and long term) for the all the "vaccine" test subjects (the population at large). We're now in the public and institutional exhaustion phase and want to forget the whole pandemic as long as hospitals aren't overwhelmed and people don't get to sick and recover quickly.
(fwiw -- not that it should matter for my analysis - I'm unvaxxed.)
I think the news out of China was a psyops
After seeing a few people in China just drop dead on the streets has any other country had people dropping dead on the streets? I don’t recall any. We saw lots of videos of overloaded hospitals in China and we were told that their death rates were high. But then we find out that they were using the deadly protocols with remdisiver and ventilators which we now know shouldn’t have been used. Lots of doctors that spoke out about using them were of course silenced.
What that did was to drive everyone indoors where anyone infected could spread it to their families and of course telling people to stay there till their lips turned blue and then returning to hospital sick as a dawg and with the illness much more advanced and of course not allowing people to take repurposed drugs and instead being put on ventilators and given remdisiver and then not treating the pneumonia that the ventilators caused. The death rates started going down after the protocols were cancelled.
I think it was what I just wrote above. Closing down the economy and only having essential workers was a cover for companies like Amazon and other big businesses that stayed open where people could go inside like Best Buy….let them make record profits.
But to see how deadly the virus was you can look back at the cruise ship that had one of the first outbreaks and see that it mostly just affected the very old and actually not that many of them.
I agree with you on this.
Maybe we are talking past each other. I see the ‘vaccines' differently than you do and so does
IM Doc. He predicted that they would cause lots of harm and autoimmune diseases would go sky high. Have you heard how many people are getting cancer now? It’s not just that they are, but how quickly it’s killing people. Some blood cancers are killing within months. Lots of young people are getting cancers that in the past usually targeted the elderly. Vaers has been screaming red alert since the jabs came out and yet the health agencies are ignoring it and saying that everything is just fine.
Was Humpty Dumpty pushed?
Couldn't disagree more with some
of your points. First the government of China is not like that of the US. It's more mindful of the populace as a whole. Psyops at the beginning of a unique emergency would be stupid and they aren't stupid.
I never saw any images of people dropping down dead on the street. (Perhaps that was western pysops.) They acted like all governments with a medium level of competence in such a situation. The initial (first month) slowness in recognizing the presence of a new virus wasn't unique. Medical science needs some time to put its boots on. After that China informed WHO, that would be expected to alert the world, and took all the other usual and expected steps when there wasn't adequate information to know what they were dealing with.
The US was completely complacent -- "we're in good shape and its not even here." Actually, it was here but not recognized and then denied.
Why so harsh about the ineffective and harmful earliest medical protocols in China? They didn't fucking know what they were dealing with. Three months later the medical protocols in the west weren't any better, but there was more information and they should have been able to do better.
Identifying a primary means of transmission didn't mean that secondary means could be ruled out. And for China that first identification came after the virus was endemic. The lockdown order was appropriate under the circumstances. And if people were left to die in their homes, there wouldn't have been the continual flood of patients seeking medical attention.
At that point China was working on all cylinders. Hospitals/clinics and medical personnel for Covid patients were separated from facilities for other medical issues. (Did the US ever get there?) What "repurposed" drugs were effective? (Perhaps none but don't want to destroy any beliefs people have.)
That cruise ship was a perfect laboratory to study the virus in situ (and I said so at the time). Unfortunately, the Japanese scientists and government weren't up to the task. (Too busy denying that the virus was in Japan and had killed.)
South Korea took a more measured and balanced approach. A short term lockdown combined with professional monitoring, etc. It was effective, but it also had the preexisting resources to implement it which other countries didn't have. With far fewer medical resources (because it's a much poorer country) Vietnam got through the first phase using the same approach. However, it must be recognized that the approach wasn't risk free as the virus could still have behaved in additional confounding ways. So, there was an element of good luck in their management.
Increasing the profits for certain corporations/business sectors is what really angered me about the handling in the US because it could have been averted. (A major consideration in my personal decision not to get vaxxed and add to Pharma's profits. Not that little old me made any difference.)
I'm no more inclined to over-read and panic from the preliminary raw results of the "vaccines" than I was of Covid-19. Anti-vaxxers screaming from day one didn't know diddly squat. Personally, I wasn't satisfied that the MRNA science had been fully developed and an application would be both safe and effective. However, that didn't mean that it wouldn't be safe and effective. (The first smallpox vaccine was administered without scientific knowledge.) Even if medical information were rigorously collected and properly analyzed, it would take years to determine if increased cancers, etc. in fact existed and what the causal factor(s) were. The US lifestyle from birth has been become increasingly less healthful for the past seventy years even as lifespan has increased. Mustn't overlook that for white USians, lifespan began to decline a few years before Covid-19 hit. Many many variables are always in play.
.
Agree with your points
thanks for elucidating them. The only quibble comes from the concept of
lifespan increasing? My research shows the opposite.
Perhaps with the supplemental medical arrays available thru insurance,
actual number of years lived may be in a steady decline?
Although, many more elder folks are experiencing
a decline in basic indicators such as mobility, cognition and are increasingly
susceptible to formerly non-distressing conditions. Quality of life issues.
BTW, I also resisted the push to become jabbed. A social pariah at the time.
Being radical is my nature.
question everything
Meant to say life expectancy --
a statistic that is accumulated and tends not to get redefined. It has been declining for lower income white Americans. iirc flatlined or increasing slightly for higher income whites who are still benefitting from a higher level of medical tech.
Can't really claim a radical orientation for my declination and it wasn't set in stone. It was a calculated near term risk that I could adequately self-protect, as I'd been doing for the year before the "vaccine" became available. (Skipped testing as I'd not had any symptoms.) I did have to use an N-95 mask more frequently as others took off their simple masks. At this point, my protocol appears to have been better than the "vaccine" (a high percentage of those I know that are fully vaxxed have contracted the virus, but fortunately recovered quickly). Plus, my protocol will continue to work if a new and more virulent variant emerges and their "vaccine" won't.
the effects of the experimental drug therapy
is showing more now with cardio vascular issues.
My spouse, working in the healthcare industry,
was required to take all the jabs. Consequently,
had to take invasive surgery to relieve fibrillation
symptoms. Coincidence?
question everything
Sadly all we can do at this time
is document medical histories and remain completely open-minded to any possible causes of illnesses. I do so hope that the well-being of billions hasn't been negatively impacted by the "vaccine." As yet we still don't know of possible long-term consequences of the virus, and that leads to many more questions and avenues of investigation.
Btw

So much to think about here.
I just love John Prine and Lyle Lovett. This song 'If I had a Boat' is another of my favorites.
Notice the cellos in this version. Also the first hint of a complex guitar riff which is also used by Richard Thompson in 'Vincent Black Lightening 1952'
And Del McCoury does it so well. The connection between Scots music and Appalachian or Blue Grass seems a small jump.
Years ago mon mari played Harvest Moon among other moon and harvest related songs as the full moon came up over the eastern escarpment in Hood River, Oregon. It was a Master Gardners' Harvest Festival. I'll never forget it.
I love so many types of music and have had many goosebump moments. One of my best memories is a concert I went to with my brother. Shostikovich Symphony #5 conducted by his son, Maxime Shostikovich. Maxime was one of the most athletic and energy wired conductors I have ever experienced.
I grew up with classical and opera, so when mon mari introduced me to singer/songwriters I had whole new horizens to explore.
Bela Fleck is the bomb. His classical work such as Bach is fantastic stuff. He met and fell in love with Abigail Washburn a clawhammer style player who also composes and sings Mandarin. They were in the flush of new love when they played together at the Aladdin Theatre in Portland. Bela just stepped in not being on the program but very welcome. He had just played with the Oregon Symphony.
Finally I sing with Martin Sexton. His guitar and voice roll my boat over.
And have we had big moons the last two months. In between when the skies are clear, we see so many stars, right here in the middle of Europe. Lack of light pollution in France profund is amazing. The Summer Triangle has been overhead for several months and now our constellation, Pigs in Heaven is in full view.
Thanks for the OT.
A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit. Allegedly Greek, but more possibly fairly modern quote.

What exceptional music you shared with us, Dm!
In my youth, I had everything from classical to Bob Wills and Hank Williams in my home, with my piano lessons strict Classical.
I hadn't listened to contemporary in any genre from 1980 until about 3 years ago, when Dear One opened my ears and interest and appreciation to all kinds of music and musicians I had missed
I have personal and professional family connections to Lyle Lovett, knew he was just all that, but had never heard anything he played until 3 years ago. Same for the Mavericks.
We did score tickets for The Mavericks this morning, will indeed ring in the New Year with them at Gruene Hall.
I am conflicted. I want my time on this earth to pass slowly, but want the New Year's Eve performance to happen Right Now!
Amazing music, thanks so much, hope everything in France is great for you.

Aw, man...
I could have had a right butt cheek looking like I had filled it up with whatever they do to butt cheeks in Columbia. Big butts are a thing down there.
