@Lookout Well, 3 hours of mandatory legal education class, to be more exact. Seems the Texas Legislators decided the Texas Family Law Statutes needed a facelift. Most of the changes are nuts, but one change gave family lawyers a huge break.
Out of the blue, 2021, pre-trial discovery, which required lawyers and clients to produce to opposing party sometimes thousands of documents, even when they had absolutely nothing to do with the case, came upon us. It typically added hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars to the cost of litigation. We were under the same rules as tort attorneys in multi-million dollar cases.
I know attorneys who bought $7000 copiers/scanners just because of this one rule. Others paid hundreds per month to rent them. Compliance could not be waived, even if all parties agreed.
Well, it is officially over. Life and labor resumed normality.
We had a nice 3 day holiday, good shopping, great Cajun music.

I've had a light day cleaning a deck to seal. Boy have I had more challenging days. So counting my lucky stars, and hope the same for you! Plus the weather has been fall like.
